- Square Enix announced that its PSP action RPG Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII will be in playable form at Jump Festa 2007, which takes place in Japan between December 16 - 17.

So we'll finally get to see Crisis Core in playable form soon. Look out for more news around Jump Festa.

sweet I can't wait, i think it should be good.
Mr. Wonderful
This is good. I've been anticipating this games for quite some time. This news makes me alot happy, that the game wasn't forgot about.

I couldnt give less of a ##### about this game if i tried.

Here is a video containing all of the previous released footage and some new footage with Aeris and Zack as well as some gameplay footage too. Here's the link: http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=...wmv&pl=game
Athrun
Wow, awesome. This game looks like the first FF 7 compilation that actually might have the same atmosphere as the original. There's some very nostalig music in it. And it seems to start off showing Zack jumping onboard a Midgar train, just like Cloud starts out in FF7.

Aeris: Good morning.
Zack: An angel?
Aeris: My name is Aeris.

Zack: So then, you owe me a date!
Aeris: What are you talking about, saying such stupid things? *laugh*

Angel: Sephiroth is waiting for us.
Zack: Sephiroth? The hero!!??

They talk about Project Genesis, (as expected after DoC) and he's even in a scene at the end.
This might be the only FF 7 compilation actually worth checking out. Zack is a cool character. Rather childish but a lot more outgoing than Cloud. And now I get why Aeris offered Cloud a date as payment for being her bodyguard when he fell through the roof of the church, just like Zack. I wonder why Sephiroth and Zack are shown fighting in Midgar though.
And he is called Zacks in Japan btw.
FallenKnight
wow this is going to be so much fun hopefully cant wait

Then be a man and buy a PSP. Jeesh.

Also, I love how that trailer banks on story the entire way, then like 30 seconds of gamplay. Oh, Square does know how to sell 'em.

not a big fan of handhelds, never time to play em with my consoles and PC keeping me busy.. plus if i was to pick one up, it would be the DS light. Ive always loved the GBA, so the DS seems the most logical choice.
Rubedo
Hmm, it's gameplay is a bit simuliar to DoC but with swordplay instead of gunfighting. But wonder if Gackt with provide VA work on Genesis since he potray on the secret ending as Genesis, but that's a high possibility.

But it could fill up PSP sales depending on the love sick fanboys come knocking on doors.

((EDIT: Oh by the way, ain't this topic surpose to be at the Final Fantasy forums?))

POSSIBLE SPOILER ABOUT AERIS:

She's a whore.

END SPOILERS.
The Evil Dead
I'm sure this will be every bit as exciting as the blunder known as Dirge of Cerberus. Squenix needs to keep it strictly RPG style and realize that they're incapable of making a decent action title.

I guess they need to cash in on this generation of kids who are obsessed with FF7 though. Can't say I wouldn't do the same if I were running the Squenix show.

You mean December of NEXT YEAR? How is that soon? That's awful lol. That's not even the release date, that's just when it's in playable form. Who knows if PSP will even still be popular then?
Seluna
Oops... I missed this topic, but nevermind. Anyway, new scan and Cloud fans will be delighted to see Cloud from 7 years ago, still a normal soldier. And there's a screenie on the battle system where it looks like Zacks is summoning Ifrit.

http://ranobe.sakuratan.com/up/src/up157538.jpg
Athrun
Laguna, I'm guessing that's a typo, and that it's supposed to say 2006.

And here are more scans, like the ones Seluna posted.

http://www.the-magicbox.com/0612/game061214c.shtml

Looking good. And Sel, those KH screens look hot. =p
LagunaWannabe
I have to say the red-haired one, who I'm assuming is G, is absolutely badass.

Angeal is absoltely badass too. I think this cast has to be the coolest cast of characters I've ever seen. There's no joking or bullsh*t with these guys, they're tough and they mean business. lol
Athrun
Cloud, Sephiroth, G, Zack and Tseng on the same team is definitely badass. We'll see how Angel turns out.
LagunaWannabe
Angeal is like, Zack's teacher so he has to be great. His character design is very cool. And he has a fukin wing, that's absolutely awesome. He's a counter of Sephiroth lol
Athrun
I wonder if that wing has any important meaning though?
Here's another scan btw.

http://www.jeux-france.com/images0_4_18521.html

You can see G' in the top right corner.
Seluna
Holy! I happened to look at the battle screenies carefully, and found that Tseng and Sephiroth seems to be playable! o.o I'm seriously contemplating owning a PSP in the future for this game.

The hot guy is called G? I'm gonna keep an eye on him alright. tongue.gif
Raincoat
I am dissapointed, only because I don't own a PSP.
Yet, seeing this...
I think I will buy one.

I am quite interested to know what happened all those years prior to the original game.

Yeah I never noticed that about Tseng and Sephiroth being playable, but I kinda expected that to happen. Will be cool to controll both the leader of SOLDIER and the leader of the Turks. Must be a pretty big mission if they put in all the "Gods" in the same team. o.o'

And yeah, his name is G, which is short for Genesis. You should probably look into his story from Dirge of Cerberus before playing this game. It's pretty interesting.
LagunaWannabe
G's character art reminds me a lot of Squall, which is probably why I think its so badass hahah

but yeah, i think it's probably gonna be one of the greatest cast of characters ever, and I'm SURE to buy a PSP in the futre. All these great games coming out for it! Crisis Core, Final Fantays Tactics, POSSIBLY Suikoden 1 and 2

i mean, CMON haha

Well they were both modeled after the J-rock star Gackt, after all. I believe Gackty voices G as well in Dirge of Cerberus. (Japanese version)

The game is looking good. I hope to see more trailers from it soon.

Ohhhh... I think I'll do that, if I try to get CC. DoC stopped being on my 'want to buy' list when I heard its gameplay sucks, so I'll probably hunt through the internet for the story.
Livewire2816
Well I read everything and all sounds great....thankfully I own evey system from the Nes to the PS2 as well as the PSP, so I am fine. Could someone please answer me one question though. Fromwhat I have gathered from what all of you have said....this angel guy is Zack's teacher...could some one elaborate on this please, aswell as this G guy. Please and Thanks!!!

Bumping the old topic.
Some new info, babelfish translated:

QUOTE
Whereas the exit of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, under development since 2004, is always made wait, Square Enix finally decides to reveal further information on its next headline in preparation on PlayStation Portable. Action-RPG obliges, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII will have a system of rather original combat, quite different from the preceding episodes of the series. Better known under the name of Digital Mind Wave, this system of combat will draw its interest from the memories of Zack while enabling him to carry out various techniques specific to the characters present in his spirit. Indeed, using the images ravelling in the left corner of the screen, the player will be likely to discover certain comparable competences at the time of the battles to the sides of Cloud and other members of Shinra. Power Surge!!, a rise of power, will start when the figures and the images of the reels are identical, Zack will be then able to use the techniques of the visible characters on these reels. Side of the characters, Square Enix specifies that Rude and Reno, as well as other members of Turks (note: Lazard) will make an appearance more or less noticed during the adventure.

Scans and Info Here

Zack Fair...

What the heck, man. Zack FAIR!?

Talk about freaking lame, Nomura. That's pretty dumb. It hurts the brain, almost.

Oh, and the scans look nice, too. xDD
Athrun
Nice scans Zuli.
Zack Fair? I actually prefer his name backwards. Zack Riaf. I think I'll call him that instead. =p

I like this scan though.

http://www.jeux-france.com/images1_4_19500.html

I want to see more of G'. But I noticed a typo in the scan. "Reno and Rudo."
We can only hope that they typoed Zack's name as well.
Athrun

Seems like Yuffie is in the game too.
LagunaWannabe
Zack Fair isn't that bad of a name, I"m just surprised there isn't some meaning behind his name. Like, Cloud Strife, Lockheart, Valentine, Cid, Sephiroth, etc all have meanings behind their name. His is pretty plain for a major character haha, that's cool though.

I'm most excited to see Angeal, with the one wing on him, it's pretty effin cool lol. I also wanna see Sephiroth BEFORE he's nutso with Jenova, you know, the REAL sephiroth, that's what im real excited for

Well it could mean he's fair unsure.gif tongue.gif

I can't wait for this game and it definitely makes holding on to my PSP worthwhile especiially with Tactics FF1, FF2 and Tales Of The world on the way. Like you I can't wait to see Sephiroth before he goes completely nuts.

Yeah, judging by the trailers it looks like Sephiroth is going to be a goodguy for the most part of the game. It would be interesting to see how he behaves and reacts before he went mad.

Oh and another worthwile games for PSP is Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. It contains a remake of Castlevania X, (the real Castlevania X which is a prequel to Symphony of the Night, not the one for SNES) and it also includes SotN, the Japanese/Sega Saturn version where Maria is playable among other new things).

BROUGHT TO YOU BY GAMESPOT JAPAN

I'm in love with that PSP. It's amazingly hot and you get a mini Buster Sword charm to go with it!
Seluna
ohmy.gif Yesh Materia. And is that G pointing a sword at Hojo in that Hojo scan? There's a pic of Angeal with one wing as well. Ooh... that right bottom pic at the bottom of the last scan looks hawt. That would be the adult version or something?
AnimePaul
The only difference between adult Zack and young Zack is the hair? Anyways the game is looking great and I can't wait to get my slim PSP in September when it is released. When does Crisis Core come out to the U.S. anyways? Has the released date for the U.S. even been released?

Agreed. Not only have I lost all faith in the Square half of Square Enix, the main reason to play this game is to find "backstory." And I don't give two shits about story in RPGs unless it's bad.

Meh.
Seluna
Go away, don't spoil our fun. tongue.gif

@ AnimePaul, I think so, yeah, from what little I read off that scan. And he looks more mature (duh @ self). I personally feel that he looks good either style.
Manc
I agree, Don't spoil our fun!

This will be the main and only reason I will buy a PSP... but if I wait a while it might come out on PS2... or not TT_TT

Man what I want to play this game... hope it's so good as it seems!!!

and Aerith, beautiful and lovely Aerith!

and the rest of the FF7 cast are supposed to be in CC if I understod the info correctly!

...why make posts like this if you really aren't interested in the game, guys? Seriously, this is just childish.

I dunno if anyone saw this yet, but the Crisis Core Theme Song PV has been released. Why by Ayaka.

Here's the article: LC-CCFF7 Blog
And here's the PV: At Youtube, BABY
Info taken from Crisis-Core.Net

I kind of like it, but it fits in with Passion for me. Might take a while before I really can enjoy the song.

Well, a new scan with Cloud in his Shinra Outfit.

CLOUD! 8D
QUOTE
A new scan has surfaced featuring Cloud unmasked in his Shinra MP outfit.

The scenes shown are taken from the Square-Enix party trailer, including Zack both encouraging Cloud with "So you wanna be in SOLDIER?" as well as warning him about how "Becoming a SOLDIER can make you a monster." Other scenes are taken from Crisis Core's version of the Nibelheim incident, such as Sephiroth in front of Jenova's pod and Zack holding the Buster Sword to the man's throat while demanding, "Sephroth, why are you doing this!" The scans also confirm Odin as a summon monster for the game.

---Taken off of Crisis-Core.Net

Lookin' pretty nice with the jailbait thing going on. 8]
Also with Odin being 'revealed' if you want to use that term.

I meant to put this up in my last post, but I forgot; the Official Site was updated earlier this month with Aerith's profile as well as Zack's being updated with the option of choosing between the young and older version of him.

Here's the link for those who forgot it:
