I haven’t even played the first one yet (not surprising, haha), but here’s a second Luminous Arc coming out. I don’t know if the first was any good or not, but I’ve been meaning to get it, and I’ll probably get this one as well.

Story

The Forbidden War Begins...

In an age when a power called "magic" supports everyday life and civilization itself, peace is supported by the queen's knights and the Rave magic council.

The Kingdom of Kalnava has a clandestine program that is researching an easier way to use magic. The story starts at the point when the Kingdom had just successfully completed their research into such a tool. Breaking a longstanding oath not to use magic in conflicts, the society of witches start a new war.

Characters

• Roland (Protagonist) - Apprentice Knight
Along with his brother who is of similar age, he aims to become a knight. He spends his days training under his father, who was originally the captain of the knights. After suddenly having the "tool" merged in his hands, he is cast into the midst of the war. His weapon is the single-handed sword.

• Alty - Apprentice Witch
An apprentice studying to become a full witch under the witch of the light. Under the witch of light's orders, she goes to get a personally signed letter from Queen Sofia, but runs into the protagonist on the way. Her weapon is the phaser staff.

• Fatima - Shaded Ice Witch
Leader of the Witches of the Dark. After having disbanded from the Witch Organization that registers leaders of each witch-type, this ringleader continues in the war. Her weapon is the ice whip.

• Gorgie - Summon/Golem
Similar to Fatima, this mysterious feline creature uses black magic. Using a human engineered body of a Golem, he is creating disturbances in the Kingdom of Kalnava. His weapon is a small bone wand.

• Lasche - Roland's older brother

• Sofia - Queen

• Gaston - Captain of the Queen's Knights

Any thoughts?

Luminous Arc II been confirmed for a U.S. release?

That's like the most important question of all!

I haven't gotten far through LA1, and it seems that I've screwed up with the relationship thingy, so I might consider replaying. But, in all, it's pretty neat for finally a straightforward sRPG that I can enjoy on the NDS. GBA titles excluded, of course.

I keep forgetting these little details, haha...At the moment it’s only set for shop in Japan (15 May 2008), but a North America released date is tba (if at all. Don’t know about the other countries). Haha, sorry about that...They don’t know yet if this is going to be localized outside of Japan or not. Oh well...game still looks/sounds good...>.>.

Good news indeed, for those who haven't heard. =). LA 2 is coming to America. ^^

I have been meaning to get Luminous Arc for a while now, but instead I chose Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass when I had a choice of both back a while ago, and now I am still playing FFTA2 so have no use of another tactics game yet. I may get a copy before Disgaea comes out on the DS, or I will just wait and play both Luminous Arc games in the future.

The reviews I read of Luminous Arc did sound okay, so I will get it sometime.

There are three English-translated video clips right here, for those interested:

Interesting. The game looks nice, but not as nice as FFTA2. The sounds seems quite good and indicates that the battles will have voices for each attack. Also, from watching the Water slash move video, it shows that all special moves and magics will be able to be leveled up. Interesting.

Great news to me.

While LA was nothing special, I enjoyed it. I'll likely enjoy LA 2 when I get a chance to play it. I expect the same cliche plot and characters, but doesn't mean it can't be a enjoyable game.

LOLS?! AND IT COMES WITH A MUSICAL CD? Somehow I find that kind of funny.

I really liked the last Luminous Arc game to be honest. I loved the social-system going on, and the art style helps a lot too. Will be looking forward to this most definitely.

This.

Except that I still haven't beaten the first game. I need to get cracking on that.

But I'm happy to see it getting a release outside of Japan.

Sweet, this game is looking good. I personally never checked out LA1 because i thought the interface looked kind of poor and not up to standards, even for the ds. However, this is looking alot better, I like the bright look and I'm a big fan of strat-rpgs. How storyline heavy is LA aka would i really have to play the last one to get into this one?
