http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499448/The movie is coming out in a couple of months (16 May for the US, not sure about anywhere else), so I figured I’d start a topic here. Personally I think it looks really good, so I’m going to go see it. Seems like it has a faster pace to it compared to the first, and what I’ve heard from the score much more climactic.
Anyway, does anybody else want to see it, or maybe you don’t?

I mildly enjoyed the last movie, perhaps the PG rating or being forced to watch it was want prevented me from enjoying the movie. Then I saw Epic movie parodying this movie, then probably that's what made me dislike this franchise. In anycase, if this is a summer flick, the only summer flick I plan on watching is the new Indiana Jones.

the first one was fairly good, with the best parts coming at the end battle scene, the 2nd one though looks a bit more action packed and so i am a bit excited.. Was going to see it anyway

Went to see it yesterday, and I personally enjoyed it. Much better than the first one. The arguments and whatnot between Peter/Susan/Edmund/Lucy are much more believable and also help with some of the humor of the movie (nothing that’s really “laugh out loud” funny, but it helps set the mood). Definitely darker than the first, which makes it all the better (seems less “kiddy”). I dunno. To keep things short, I’ll just leave it at “I thought it was really good”.
Has anybody else seen it? Did you like it/hate it?

i think this movie was worse than the first one.. it was so long but they sped through everything and really didnt go into detail about anything. The fights were boring, the characters kinda lame, etc..
very blah movie

I didn't like the 1st movie. Not surprising since I'm one of those people who does nothing but compare every aspect of the movie to the book. Which is why I will forever and ever and ever hate all Harry Potter movies... anyway...
I do have hope for the 2nd movie, I have free movie tickets at least I won't be wasting any money if it's bad.

no movie is going to be as good as the book, so thats a crummy way to look at a movie. I loved th Harry Potter books and i have loved the movies because i look at them seperately.
good thing you arent paying to see this though as its a rental at best.

Yeah I know, I've doomed almost every movie from the opening scenes but it's just something that I can never seem to help. I just get into books so much that I picture it in my head as I go along, so it's like I've already made it into my own wee movie... in my head

but even so, I love love love The LOTR movies, I watch them over and over when I get into a dvd mood.

I saw it like three weeks ago. I really liked it!! Really intense for a PG rated movie.... just shows how blurry the lines are nowadays on ratings in the States...
But ya. the story was great, the action scenes were good. I really liked the sword fight-duel. Possibly my highlight other than the sister going to town with nothing but a bow and arrow. Legolas, eat your heart out!!!
BUT, the only annoying thing I found (my fiance actually pointed this one out) was the fact that Prince Caspian never really figured out what country he was trying to mimic his accent. He swapped from "spain"ish to france-ish to engl-ish and then coming up with his own versions of combinations. Kinda weird. I conjectured that it was the pollen from narnia that could change people's accents depending on what flower he breathed in.

I saw the first movie quite some time ago and I somewhat enjoyed it. It wasn't the best I had seen, but it was alright and being extremely interested in mythology, the first movie somewhat made it very interesting.
Now, I wasn't expecting much with the second movie, as the first one was alright.
However, this movie was miles better and I truly cannot understand why Voyou san thinks otherwise. This movie took everything from the first movie and completely obliterated it.
It is a good conflict between the two forces and aside from that, also portrays the struggles between themselves pretty well. The story does a good job. I haven't read the books, because I do not read books, so anyone that starts comparing it to the book can simply stop talking to me, because I do not care.
The movie did a very good job, it was way more mature than the first movie, as the first movie was childish, even with the battles.
Speaking of battles, the first movie showed clear signs of the cautiousness during the recording and choreography.
This movie improved much better on this and the fight scenes were really good, especially the fight with Peter and Miraz.
The two major battles were also very imposing and miles better than the first movie and with a nice blink towards Lord of the Rings. Highlight for spoiler
When Aslan (finally) returns and summons the trees to fight with them, the battle became pretty impressive and I was quite surprised it looked this good. A few minutes later, another impressive performance of the "river god" arose. This is an obvious wink to LOTR and a nice impression of the magic of mythology, where this would fit as Poseidon/Neptune.
The score was amazing as well. I am a fan of Harry Gregson-Williams and I am surprised in this score is it makes the previous score look crap. This is a very good soundtrack and uses the previous song really well and much darker than the other one.
Also, Harry did the voice of the squirrel, how funny is that =D.
The characters were also very entertaining. The mice, although they're mice were entertaining and brought amusement to the movie, as well as decent fighting. (Yes, they are skilled swordsmice).
I also enjoyed Trumpkin, he was a good character and brought a lot to the movie, cynically as well as certain cool/toughness factor, even if he is a dwarf.
Overall, all the characters are very interesting and much better than the first movie, due to the improved acting.
Just as in the previous movie, I liked Edmund the most. His overal cocky, yet sharp attitude simply appeals and in this movie it was only better.
The only things I didn't like in this movie were the fact that Aslan barely takes part in the movie. He doesn't appear right till the end of the movie, even though he is still there. He simply waits for Lucy to come and meanwhile hundreds of people die.
Another thing I didn't like was Lucy's role. Though, this is simply because she's a young actress and I don't like young actresses, as they do not pose believable to me. However, her acting isn't bad, it is just something I have with young actors/actresses, hence I wasn't too fond of the acting in the first movie.
However, the fact here remains that the second movie is ten times better than the first movie without a doubt.
It is darker, yet has humor and is somewhat charming as well.
Definitely worth the time and money spend on the movie.

Finally saw this movie

Anyway, I personally thought it was much better then the 1st, simply because it was more mature and the acting from the Pevensies was much more believable. There was also a bit more of L.O.L humour (from the the dwarf and mouse in particular). Music was good, so was the script, action and special effects.
The only thing I have to pick at was Susan's acting, she was the least believable of the lot... or maybe I just don't like her character, meh. Edmund, who I adore, had maybe 4 lines during the entire movie. Their armies were tiny, it didn't make me worry for the 'good side' cos the opposing army just didn't look that scary or big (The masks were a cool touch though).
That's about it I guess. Overall I'm really glad I saw this movie and definitely wouldn't mind seeing it again.

all i know is if i ever hear "for Aslan, and for NARNIA!!!" again i am going to puke.. was that the only line he had in the movie cause it seemed like that at times..
and Pes i dont know, i just really could not get into the 2nd movie, there was really nothing in it that stood out to me that was better than the 1st one or even similar type movies. I think some of the stuff early on in the movie was good but then just to me got worse and worse.. i dont know, mabye when it reaches shelfs ill give it another see.
