(1.)
Strike Brightly

Some vivid force ceased just now
We all harnessed the warmest blaze before it was smothered out
Stop constructing fences to perch yourself upon
Would you rather divide us all
Or act before this is dead and gone?

Avoid the archetype for that shot in the dark
Approach this with the brilliance cooperation can spark
Don't abandon this
There's a balance to be struck
There are things that won't see an end without you

This paradise isn't something we build for ourselves
It's a non-fiction struggle through the better hells
I want to see old smiles breaking through
Cast off this air of doubt and show them what empathy still can do

Don't bear the blame for all your weaknesses
Perfection's never tangible and it's void of any witnesses
When the last spire falls and the dust settles in
A tranquil combustion will escape us and clear the air again

Unconditional Lust

Visualize this holy dream;
Reckon for our recompense;
Cast away these selfish worries;
Three days dead we are no doubt.

Entrapped, entwined; sorrow’s tale.
Consuming souls full of erstwhile vanity
Neglecting poverty, only uncovering somnambulists
Parading across my coasting dream.

Shattering these meetings;
Crush me down to dust;
Stampede now over our plea for help;
Four days lost.

Seeking my savior of mariners,
This lonely tale unwinding too slow;
Spinning, twirling, close to drop
Shrieking for a new lit path

Calculate your actions;
Safe virgin I won’t remain;
Trodden thoughts become impure;
This day found a regrettable end.

Re-sown fragments of ephemeral joy,
Renounced belief of hatred condemned,
Brought together again in sin through time,
Past redemption fall through slits

Your healed soul drinks from within me;
My tortured soul curses my name;
Combined now to create remorse;
One new life for you to play

I realize I’m ending this early, but with the booming results in the voting, I’ve decided I should stop the waging war between our two entrants now. Lost Seraphim had Strike Brightly with one vote, and my esteemed being had Unconditional Lust with one vote. So, as you can see, it was a very tight deadlock.

Normally I’d have the winner pick the next theme, but since this was a draw and also the only foreseeable time for me to be able to do this, I thought I’d take the liberty at picking the next theme; albeit having a close tie to an earlier theme.

The next topic shall be up shortly, minus the sarcasm. =).
