9 is definetely one of my favourites, Amarant ftw. I only hated the end of the game, because the world map got so gloomy

What were Square thinking with Amarant... He was set to become the best FF character ever... until they forgot to actually put him IN the game. He has a completely mysterious past (aside from the bodyguard thing), a dangerous reputation, a cool character model and this awesome picture of him running away from an explosion (which never happens in the game >.<). In fact, he played next to no role in the game and instead they slapped on this very half-arsed "Working as a team is just spiffy" sub-plot that just seemed completely out of context for his character. Well done Square <.<
FF's have a tradition of having gloomy maps at the end of the game. FFVI had Kefka's new world, FFVII had meteor about to fall with depressing music, FFVIII had you in a depressing future where you couldn't go anywhere and FFIX had it's inexplicable rocks of doom that blocked everywhere.
Hahah, i totally agree dude, more amarant would have beenawesome, his weapons pwned so freakin much. First monk based character i've ever really been into in the FF series. Maybe they should make a spin-off with him in it? It could be dark, mysterious, provide no real answers, and go for a DMC style gameplay. Oh...... XD
Ya, I was thinknig to myself about the FF7 map too, i hated it when meator was in the sky, and the music sucked >< A trivial complaint, but still an annoyance. To be fair, I liked the FFVI ruined world map, it was a neat idea.
