So, now we're not talking about personality or motives or villains but instead what your favourite Monster is based on two catagories.
First of all, Favourite monster from any Final Fantasy to fight (because you enjoy it's skills or it's got a strange weakness ect. ect.)
and secondly favourite monster design.
RULES:
You can ONLY choose non-boss battles. This topic is a focus on minor enemies only. It can come from ANY final fantasy.
I'll post my two later.

I love the Neslug in the Monster Arena of Final Fantasy X. He looks incredibly different than any Final Fantasy monster and I remember seeing him for the first time. I thought to myself, "My God, that guy fell out of the ugly tree and hit EVERY SINGLE branch on the way down." Also, he was incredibly annoying when he would go inside his shell and just collect health. However, it was incredibly enjoyable when I finally was able to beat him.
Also, the Tonberry has always been my favorite staple. He is a bastard and karma is a pretty wicked move, but he was always so enjoyable to fight. I think he is probably my favorite monster because of all the memories of fighting him in previous games.

FF VIII - Marlboro
Within 5-7 seconds, if you don't act fast, it casts Bad breath.
Bad breath causes, "Confusion, Poison, Berserk, Blindness (and maybe Doom)"
Berserk makes ALL your characters to be unable to be controlled. Which means what they do is random. Usually your characters die before anything else happens.
Difficulty ***** 5 stars. Thats why I like it.
Lance.

When it comes to FEAR, Tonberry (FFVI) e Malboro (many FFs) are on the top of my list!
Whenever encoutering those I would soil my pants! XD
Malboro's Bad Breath is the most detestable (is that a word?) enemy attack in the game! After taking one, you already lost the battle is just a matter of turns, that won't be many...
While Tonberry seem the weakest thing on the world, but after taking his "Chef's Knife" just once, you learn to fear each of his paces...
And on FFVI it also has that Everyone's Grudge, that can kill the whole party!!!
Tonberry weak, kinda cute (FFVIII) makes him my favourite monster design.

I don't know if this counts as a boss fight, but I liked the Jumbo Cactuar fight in FF8. Squall's Renzokuken animation changed in that fight to my favorite one, and the boss itself had stronger versions of the regular Cactuar's attacks.
Fighting the Marlboro in FF8 was fun as well, in a scary way. As Bloo mentioned, if you didn't act fast enough, it usually meant Game Over. I remember hoping for Gilgamesh to appear every time Squall's Renzokuken didn't finish with a Lion Heart. And some times he did.

Favorite monster:
Behemoth (FFXII. Probably in others as well, but I haven't really played them.). They give me 2 LP each time I get rid of one (with Golden Amulets that makes it 4 LP, and the fact that there are numerous in Giruvegan is a plus for me. =). ). I just think they're one of the cooler monsters in appearance and otherwise. When they use Bacchu's Wine to go Berserk, that livens things up a bit, since they pack quite a punch. =).
Favorite monster design:
Hmm...Honestly can't really decide. Guess I'll just go with that bulky, armored Behemoth again. =p.

Oh, and Behemoth from XII is one of the best design monsters if you ask me. He really impose some "respect"! XD

Favourite monster
- Cactuar, those things are just too cute.
Favorite monster design
- I would have to say Behemoth. It's the only one that has been consistent, while maintaining a badass design throughout the series.

Favorite Monster
Malboro (FF VIII), because they can cause nearly every status alighnment in the game and that they beat the ##### out of you while your immobilized. Without preventing Berserk and Confusion, you will have no way to defeat them.
Monster Design
Possibly Jemnezmy, Sonw, and Pollensalita FF VII, due to the fact that they aren't really monsters at all, they are actually scantily clad women that can use Facination and Cold Breath. Their human designs however were kind of polygonic.
