So like I was playing Suikoden 4 and 5 recently. Beat 4 already but never got the good ending, just recently beat 5 for the first time. Anyway, I was sitting there playing and had a really weird idea for a Suikoden game. A cross over actually.
Disgaea Suikoden- Hunt for the 108 Stars of Darkness.
It'd be friggin hilarious if Nippon and Konami worked together to do it. Basically, the general story would be something along the lines of some bastard Overlord is trying to take over all the other Netherworlds. To make matters worse, he has one of the 27 True Runes supplementing his already massive Overlord powers. The main character is someone you create (like a lot of the Neatherworld games let you do) You are created by Lakneet a long time ago using the power of the half Gate Rune she has. You find out that the Gate rune is actually connected to all of the Neitherworlds in existance and that each Neitherworld is, in turn, connected to each other and thus the world of Suikoden.
The problem is, the moment you are to meet Lakneet to find out your destiny, Lakneet's tower gets attacked...and your killed (she gets away fine mind you, by using you as a human sheild) She contacts you later to inform you that it was your DESTINY to be killed and that, since you were created using the power of the Gate rune, you'll maintain your original form instead of becoming a Prenny. (DUUUDE!)
She then tells you that if youe ver want to be reborn, you have to find a way to repay for the sins and things you did during your life. (you didn't live with her like Luc did. she sent you away to live with some other family). And thus, your adventure starts. Now, I have no clue what True Rune you'd get since theres already one that govern's Life and Death (the Soul Eater) and thers one that already govern's good and evil more or less (Rune of Punishment) soo....maybe you get the complete Gate rune or something like that, I don't know.
Anyway, your adventure takes you through several of the Neitherworlds as they have all been connected by this evil Overlord to make travel easier for him and his minions. Youc an also travel to the world of the Living (the suikoden world) from time to time.
The battle system would still be like Suikoden in that it has a 6 man party syste, and army system and a duel system. The 6 man system would be classical Suikden. Same witht he Duel system more or less. Now the army system would pretty much strip directly from Soul Nomad. By this I mean that each of your characters gain both skill points(like in suikoden 5 and 3) but they also gain Mana from killing monsters. They can use the mana to buy units to set up their own squads for the army battles. To make it realitivly easy to manage, there'd be a fairly limited amount of unit types to select (probably 10 at the most) but each would have upgrades or whatever.
Anyway, the item world would still exist and th best part about it is that it'd incorporate all 3 battle systems. You'd be told what type of battles exist in that world before entering it. Either Normal battles (the 6 man parties), army battles , duel battles or mix (changes by floor).
I'd also lvoe to use the Felony system from Disgaea 2. That'd be funny as hell. Some characters could have specilty felonies that only they can get (like Jeane having the 'Too Sexy' felony or Etna and Flone having the 'Too Flat' felony)
Now as for the characters...hmmm well abviously it'd be a mix of Suikoden and Disgaea classics. I think all or at least most of the True Rune holders you've played as in past games should come back. Also, it's not a Disgaea till you hear the laughter of Laharl as he drops a meteor on your head. Hmmm I'd like to see Laharl, Etna, Flonne, and a few other superstars from Disgaea make an apperance. So what do you guys think? Any ideas of what could happen or who you'd like to see in it?
