Alright I'm planning on writing a fictional story about Final Fantasy VII which takes place in the future (Just because I can, and because I cant wait to see what comes next in the Compilation). But I want your help. I'm about to diagram what I'm going to do in my story, and I want you to tell me what's good, what's bad, what should be changed, or whether it's such a bad story I should avoid doing it all together.

So here's how I'm having the story go (Roughly): (This is the longest post I've ever written, so for those who read through it, thank you in advance, and I'm SURE ull be VERY intriguied with what I do with the characters)


-Takes place 2 years after Dirge of Cerberus (The entire story takes up about one week of actual time)

-There's a new threat to the planet, it's a trio (Genesis, Weiss, and Kunsel). Weiss is still alive after DOC, Genesis is evil for reasons I'll explain soon (because Ultimania says he's good), and Kunsel from Crisis Core (Zack's friend), is still alive and wants revenge on ShinRa for what they did to Angeal and Zack.

-Over the past years since Crisis Core, Kunsel had become a SOLDIER 1st Class once Zack disappeared, then became an intricate member of the Turks, (Did all this so he could advance in power in ShinRa so he could eventually be at the top, so his attack on ShinRa would cripple it more), then after the Turks he is recruited to be one of the first members of DeepGround. Kunsel joins Weiss and Genesis because they are all connected through DeepGround and Kunsel feels he could use their resources for his own plan to topple the remnants of ShinRa (Which ill show later).

-Weiss is going to try and revive Sephiroth and Genesis wants to help. Genesis is going to help him because he still wants to be the "Hero", and what better way than to destroy the ultimate threat to the planet? So he thinks that HE'S the Hero and a good guy, so he's going to help revive Sephiroth, then kill him, all so that ppl will recognize him as a protector.

-In order to revive Sephiroth, the remaining scientists of DeepGround have told them that they can do so through Lucretia. Lucretia herself has Sephiroth's actual genes in her since she was his mother of course, and she remains to have some remnants of pure Jenova cells in her from the original experiment. So they want to transform Lucretia into Sephiroth. So Genesis and Weiss steal Lucretia from her cave. Vincent witnesses this and follows them to stop them, but Weiss captures Vincent in the process and takes him as a prisoner.

-Cloud and the others search for Vincent constantly, surprised by his sudden disappearance. Shelke discovers that Lucretia is gone, and Cloud and co. are really concerned now. Denzel starts having Cloud train him in battle because Denzel is tired of having all those around him die (His parents, Reeve's mother, his friends, etc). I plan on making Denzel kind of like a younger Cloud (Naive, unconfident, semi-weak, just liike CLoud was with Zack).

-Lucretia and Vincent are stores in the ShinRa mansion basement for their experiments. Vincent breaks out one day of his Mako Chamber, and frees Lucretia too. Lucretia orders Vincent to kill her, but Vincent cannot. She tells him that she will become Sephiroth if he doesn't, but Vincent just can't bring himself to do it. So Vincent, all angsty again, can't bear what will happen. He either has to kill Lucretia or allow Sephiroth to be revived. So he goes back to his coffin and leaves Lucretia to live.

-Weiss and Genesis come back though after hearing Vincent break out, and decide that they can't waste time, so they transform Lucretia into Sephiroth using the techniques the Scientists told them. Sephiroth chases Weiss and Genesis out after a quick duel, when Genesis discovers he still can't beat Sephiroth.

-Sephiroth comes out and summons Jenova's final power, the WEAPON she created. Throughout the Final Fantasy games, all the original WEAPONS of the planet have been destroyed, Ruby, Emerald, Omega, etc. So now there's no weapon guarding the planet. But Jenova's last act before she was completely obliterated was to create her own WEAPON and have Sephiroth be its trigger just as Vincent was Chaos/Omega's trigger. Jenova's WEAPON is designed to attack the Lifestream itself and Paralyze it. Since the Lifestream has a mind of its own and can protect itself, the WEAPON is meant to paralyze it and cripple it from helping protect itself.

-At this same time Kunsel has tracked down Palmer and Rufus and killed them both. He goes after Reeve too and explains that WRO may be good now, but eventually once Reeve passes it on, it could become another ShinRa due to corrupted power, and says Reeve must still atone for his sins of allowing ShinRa's policies. So he kills Reeve. So now the WRO is cripled without Reeve and Vincent around to take any command.

-Tseng then picks up the reigns and brings Reno and Rude and Elena together as well as Cloud and Tifa and everyone as a small army to fight against the new WEAPON that's awakened. (I've also had Cissnei come into this story. In the beginning I explain, when Kunsel was a Turk, Cissnei was discovered that she let Zack escape on 2 occasions, and Scarlet demanded her instant execution for failure of orders. Kunsel was the Turk ordered to do it, but he let Cissnei escape, and she's been gone until this moment when she returns to help.)

-Cid has organized an Air Force in Reeve's absence as Commissioner to attack Jenova's WEAPON which is at Northern Crater just sitting there paralyzing the life stream. Sephiroth, Genesis, and Weiss' locations are still unknown.

-Sephiroth finally reveals himself to the world though, and an epic battle begins where it's Sephiroth vs Genesis vs Weiss vs Cloud. Cloud is enemies with all three because Genesis is the one who allowed Sephiroth to come back. And Genesis wants to defeat Sephiroth because that's how he will become a "Hero" and wants Cloud to die in the process so that he can be the only Hero left. and Weiss wants to kill Cloud so that the planet can be destroyed (Like his original goal in DoC).

-Vincent finally comes out with a new will to live and to end his Nightmare once more. And the way I've set it up according to Loveless is that the NEW Three friends are: Cloud, Vincent, and Denzel. So the OLD three friends are Genesis, Sephiroth, and Angeal, but the NEW ones are Cloud, Vincent, and Denzel. Cloud is the new "Hero", Denzel is the "Wanderer" as he's like Angeal in how he's there to support others and be a behind the scene's force, and Vincent is the "prisoner". Vincent is prisoner to his own inner demons, and as Loveless says: "the Prisoner is gravely wounded, but his life is saved by a woman of the opposing nation, he begins a life with her, which holds the promise of bliss". Originally in Crisis Core I saw Sephiroth as the Prisoner, prisoner to his own inner demons and Jenova being the woman who saves him, but now it's Vincent who's the prisoner of himself, and Lucretia helped save his life and create a bliss (Which she did after DoC).

-That being said, Loveless starts off saying: "When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end, The goddess descends from the sky, Wings of light and dark spread afar, She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting." The "beasts" are the three friends fighting, and in this Epic final fight, NEW and OLD friends are fighting (Seph, Genesis, Cloud, Denzel, Vincent, and even Angeal through the memory of the Buster Sword/Zack), bringing about the end of the world.

-So they awaken the "Gift of the Goddess", Cloud, Genesis, Sephiroth, Vincent, Denzel all get a glimpse of Minerva, but she cannot speak or move because she is the Lifestream, and the Lifestream is paralyzed. So in order to receive the "Gift of the Goddess" the WEAPON must be destroyed.

-And that's what Tseng, Cid, Tifa, Barret, Turks, etc are all doing, they're all trying to destroy the WEAPON. Kunsel comes along though and wants to kill Tseng and the Turks because of what they had done all the past years as assassins and weapons of ShinRa. Cissnei stops him though, and explains to Kunsel that his idea of revenge is wrong. She says that living and atoning is how you honor the memory of others, not through revenge. She says how Zack would not be happy how Kunel has become a monster of vengeance, killing those like Tseng and Reeve who are trying to atone. She gives Cloud as the example as to how to honor Zack's memory, and that Cloud's way would make Zack happy. Kunsel agrees with her and admits that he has been wrong.

-So during the epic battle going on between GenesisxSephxCloudxWeissxVincent, Vincent and Weiss are in a duel as the other 3 duke it out, and Vincent finally kills Weiss.

-Genesis actually lands the finishing blow on Sephiroth and cuts his head off. He thinks he has triumphed and finally beaten Sephiroth and become the "Hero" of Loveless, but Cloud proves him wrong and says whatever Hero he had potential to be, it was not fulfilled because he did more harm to the planet than good. He says Genesis' acts were in vain, and that he has dishonored Angeal and the Goddess.

-So Cloud and Genesis are now in a duel together, except now Genesis uses his wing to fly around and keep Cloud at a disatvantage. Cloud is losing the fight until he hears Zack speak to him, and Cloud suddenlly gets this amazing gift: The DMW. (Digital Mind Wave, for those that didnt play Crisis Core, it's what Zack uses to fight. It's the memory/images of his loved ones he fights for, and its their images that allow him to use limit breaks and gain battle advantages.) So Cloud thinks of his friends (Zack, Aerith, Tifa, Vincent, etc) and they help him with Genesis' advantage of flight. And Cloud eventually defeats Genesis just as Zack did years ago. Tells him Genesis is nothing, and kills him right there.

-So Kunsel he decides to help in the one way he can: (As a Tsviet, they asked him what power he would want to be given, and Kunsel requested that they try to create a power that can destroy absolutely anything [He originally wanted this power to destroy ShinRa], and they did but they found out it would cost him his life (He would have to be a Kamikaze)). So Kunsel decides to honor Zack and save the others, and uses his power to crash into Jenova's WEAPON and destroy it.

-So the WEAPON is destroyed, and Minerva appears to Cloud, Vincent, and Denzel. She is no longer paralyzed, but is weak and on the verge of death from the suffocation of the WEAPON. She commends them for their sacrifices (Lucretia, Aerith, Zack, etc), and just as Loveless says: The war of the beasts brings about World's End. Meaning, the World actually ends. She says she cannot recover to be the Lifestream she used to be, but shall give them the "Gift of the Goddess". And as Loveless says, "Legend speaks of sacrifice at world's end".

-The "Gift of the Goddess" is actually the Promise Land that the Ancient's knew about. As said in game, it's eternal youth and longevity (Which Banora Apples kinda symbolized), but the Promise Land is the REAL eternal life (Kind of like a heaven). So the "sacrifice" at World's End is actually the human race, and they are all spirited away to the Promised Land.

-The Promised Land is that White Aura we see Aerith and Zack in at the end of Advent Children, and is more of a state of bliss than anything. As all souls return to the Lifestream upon death, and Minerva is the Lifestream, she decides who is let into the Promised Land. She let's EVERYONE in unconditionally unless they were a threat the planet, in which case they just remain in the Lifestream, yet don't advance to the Promised Land.

-So everyone is taken there and many are reunited (Zack is with Aerith, Cloud is with Tifa, Angeal is there, Kunsel is there with Cissnei, Vincent is with Lucretia, Shalua Rui is with Shelke, Reno is with Rude, Dyne is with Barret and Marlene, Denzel is with his parents and Reeve's mom, Elmyra is with Gast, and Grimoire Valentine is with Lucretia too, Rufus and Reeve are there, as is everyone else. Sephiroth, Genesis, Hojo, Weiss, etc are all remanats in the lifestream, not permitted into the Promised Land.

-And everyone asks Minerva where Red XIII is. It's revealed he's still on Gaia along with the rest of the animals and plant life. The humans were taken from the Earth, but the planet lives on with its limited lifestream, which is why at the end of FF7 we see Nanaki still there with his cubs in an overgrown green Earth.



I know the summary is extremely long, but for any die-hard FF7 fans, I figure it's worth the read because I really like the way things happen. I like how Crisis Core is tied into the ending, kinda like the Alpha-Omega. I didn't introduce any NEW characters like most FanFics do, I just used old ones (Like Kunsel and Cissnei, even if they were minor characters).

I like how everyoen returns too for the final showdown (like Seph, and I'm glad he's not the focal point villain as he usually is). And I also like how I kind of put a twist on Loveless since it's such an intricate part of the FF7 world.

The ending at first bothered me too, but I like how it's kind of a twist from things. But if actually puts CLOSURE on the FF7 World, where nothing else could possibly happen since everone I guess technically "dies", but they're all reunited with each other and can live eternally happy, which is something I thought satisfying for characters like Angeal, Zack, Cloud, and especially Vincent.

So, yeah after the 15 minutes itll take u to read it all haha, for anyone who does, what do you think?? Thanks in advance!!

I read it, and I quite liked it, it was great.

It does bring a lot of closure to the story line, and the fates of the cast, everything culminates together. Like, over the course of the games we've seen, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, etc, a lot of new characters have been introduced, and new stories created, and I liked how you brought them all together to create the ending.

Though, the idea of it taking place in a week I think stretches it a little for a time frame. Many events happen from what you've described, Septhiroth's revival, searching out Vincent, the new WEAPON, the final battle etc. I think 3 weeks, or around that, would be a better suited time frame.

The idea of bringing the villains together I thought as good as well. Septhiroth has been the main highlight of evil for long enough, and the fact that it was basically a free for all between hero and villain, each one for their own reasons, makes the fight sound fun.

I also would have liked a better description of this new WEAPON as well, it sounds interesting. The fact you brought them back into the story was nice, after all they were more or less forgotten after FF VII, which I found odd considering they were the planet's protectors. And taking advantage of their absence, the lack of protectors leading the Lifestream itself to be attacked, it was a nice thought to me.


The ending in a way was tragic, yet at the same time, I found it fulfilling. The idea that the planet is finally free of it's enemies is a good thought, and though everyone of the cast dies at the end, they are still not forgotten as they enter the Lifestream, which in a way proves them as heroes, as they prevented the disaster. Also, considering Vincent is also there, I would like to think it brings closure to his story, and conquers his demons. Since he enters the Promised land, I consider that atonement for sins on his part. And it was clever to bring the end of the original game into it as well, it would actually explain why the land Red stood over was barren of human life, complete natural beauty.


Ha, I think that's enough for now. Yeah, I liked it, some things, like the time frame as a mere beginning, could maybe use re-thinking, perfecting, whatever you wish to call it. But good in my opinion.

I wanted it to be over a longer span of time, but I just felt like most of these events happened so quickly, that I didnt wanna drag the story on with some boring filler in the beginning becuase I can't seem to think of anything exciting to happen before the actual "Final Battle"

Heh, yeah, 'course I took the time to read it. I love to read in general, FF VII is one of my favourite games, and from the beginning it looked interesting.

But as for the time frame of the story. I still think it's quite possible to extend the period of the time the story spans without dragging it on with fillers, or over-extending certain aspects. For example, Vincent and Lucrecia. Aside from the main story of JENOVA's plans to wipe out the planet, and the 4-way duel, the two of them have their own stories between each other. There's Cloud's relationship with Tifa, and the general ties between the main cast.

So, while progressing through the story, namely, the threat to the planet placed by the villains, having Vincent sort things out with Lucrecia, or having Cloud and Tifa state exactly where they stand with each other, I think it's possible to progress the story without simply dragging one aspect on too far, if that makes sense.

Of course, having it done in a week still isn't what I would call a "bad" idea. Simply that I think, with all of the loose ends to be tied between characters, two or three weeks, preferably two, would suit it better.

You're absolutely right. If I'm gonna have them all die, I gotta create some individual closure for everybody, which would be a good way to do it. I'd just be nervous that it'd get too boring without some real ACTION u know what i mean?? Like, I could easily have CLoud and Tifa talk about sorting thins out, and have Denzel take time to evaluate himself and whatnot, but to stretch that out over the beginning, doesn't exactly make like, a great HOOK u know what I mean? I'm sure I'll figure something out though.

Oh yes, of course, you can't actually begin the story with any of the plot closures. After all, how many books or games have there been where the plot development is finished within the first few hours/pages? I meant simply featuring it at some point in the story, as long as that is done, things should pan out fine. Personally, If I was writing, I'd start off with the villains, put the spotlight on them, what they're up to, introductions etc, and then go from there to say....the kidnapping, or something, depending on the order of the events.

You've got to have one of the main characters (good guys) from FF7 doing bad stuff for one reason or another (even though their heart is still good). Such as, they get bribed with their daughter's life to do something, or... something like that.

...Just an idea.

THat's a great idea, and would make a VERY interesting way to start my story off. It's just too bad that many of the characters don't necessarily have like, family memebers that are very close to them. Might be the thing that I need to start my story off that I've been lacking. Thanks a bunch
