I have no idea why, but just yesterday, I wanted to understand the story to FF7 a lot, I've played it and beat it yeah, but I didn't really pay attention to some stuff cause I got stuck in some parts and I stoped playing. I tried to look this up on google and wiki but all I found was some kids opinion on ff7, not really useful there...

anyway, does anyone know the story to this game?
Pesmerga
FFVII has a story? =O

All I could recall is a death of a flower lady. Some emo kid fighting another emo kid =\

Oh right. There is monsters! Yeah... Don't forget about the monsters!

Constructive...

Anyway, what is it exactly that you didn't get, there is a lot to cover with FFVII so at which point did it get confusing? Probably when you reach northern cave... a lot seems to happen with little explanation and due to (what I can only assume) bad translation and the fact that things aren't particularly clarified it leaves a lot of the story in the dark, to the point where it seems that Square is reluctant to touch it.

Ok, I just tried to write a quick summary of what happens after disc 2 and basically I'm giving up, I don't have the time to do it, plus some of it is left up to interpretation. If you ask specific questions then I'll try to answer them. To be honest I need to replay FFVII to try and get a grasp on it myself. It doesn't help that different character's contradict each other in what they say (Such as Cloud being a "Clone" of Sephiroth when really he is just a person who reacted well to the Jenova Cells.)

There are still a lot of things that I'm confused about myself, such as Tifa's involvement. I REALLY need to replay that whole section of the game.

yeah, I got kinda confused at the northern cave, either that or I just don't remember, whatever. One of the questions I have, where does Zack come from, is he just a random, or does he have something related to cloud or sephiroth or anybody else?
Pesmerga
It is told in the game where Zack comes from, I don't know the name myself though.
Remember the flashbacks of Cloud, where he goes to Niflheim with Sephi? Well, the Cloud you see is actually Zack. Cloud's mind is messed up, due to the fact that he is instable ><.
The real Cloud is actually one of the Shinra soldiers you see with Zack and Sephi.

Anyway, Zack and Cloud are good buddies and because Cloud was instable when they were fleeing, from Shinra, I think, Cloud's mind got messed up and he started to think that Zack's memories where his.
It is something along those lines. I haven't played Final Fantasy VII in ages, but this is the basis.

oh I see, thanks. I do have more questions, for sure, but I just need to get back to the game and see what I didn't understand.

As for where Zack actually came from, it was one of the villages during the game, I believe the name was Gongaga, or something to that effect. The one that had the reactor explosion, and you get the Titan summon from. You can meet Zack's parents there during the game, and there's an extra scene if Aerith is in the party.

Well, though I'd say, in case you didn't know/wanted to know.
Noir
Yeah you just need to finish the game.

Apple_Juice

If you google "FInal Fantasy wiki" they have some pretty in depth summaries about Cloud, FF7, and Sephiroth. Thre is a TON to cover in the game and impossible for any of us to map it all out for you unless you have specific questions.

But yeah definitely check out FInal Fantasy wiki, its one of my favorite wikis around
