Gran Turismo is rated ‘T’, whereas Grand Theft Auto is rated ‘M’. They may get titles mixed up, but if they aren’t paying attention to the ratings...

No. Not that I'm american or anything... but isn't videogames actually one of the things that's actually holding it's own? Economy declining usually has to do with MUCH more then one small component of capitalism

Sorry, video games have NOTHING to do with America's economic decline. It's a mixture of inflationary fears due to rising energy and food prices mixed with a weak dollar compared to the Euro. All coming from the subprime mortgage crisis from 2001 on when the Federal Government raised its target interest rate, thus people with short term adjustable mortgages could no longer afford the higher rates, causing them to foreclose. Thi then triggered a huge loss in the housing sector, which then led to a credit crunch where banks would stop lending out so easily because bank expectations were that people would foreclose and not be able to pay back money borrowed.

So when the Fed lowered its interest rates more and more, and banks still didn't lend out the expected amount of money, the interest rates on treasuries and bonds stayed low, thus preventing investors from taking risky investments. Thus the stock market reactived negatively with these pessimistic expectations and the financial sectors began to post 1st quarter losses. Combined with this was the unemplyment rate increasing to 5.1% with 85,000 jobs being cut in the month of March, followed by April which cut another 20,000 job options.


This is Wall Street investment stuff that's created a bad economy... not GTA4.....

Video games are sure as hell not the reason for our aching economy. The problem with our economy is that WE GIVE TOO MUCH TO PEOPLE WHO DESERVE TOO LITTLE. We're giving our jobs to the poor forgieners so they can become richer and we can become poorer. We're giving grimy loans to idiots who are too stupid to pay responsibly. The Bush Administration is giving big business the right to price gouge a ##### barrel of oil. Believe you me, we HAVE MORE CRUDE NOW THAN WE EVER HAD, so why the ##### are we dicking around with the Saudi's? It's a ##### cover-up for profit.
