Azure
So, my Level 22 Thief does almost twice as much damage as my Level 22 Warrior, despite my Warrior having the better weapon. Logic, anyone? Also, both my White and Black Mages have more HP than my Thief does.

Glad that I am not the only one playing the first Final Fantasy. biggrin.gif

This is the second time through the game, but the first on the Origins disc. On the NES, I used the generic party (FT, BB, BM, WM) and I did pretty well. Now, I had to use the 2 classes I didn't use before, so I am using a RM, Theif, Blackbelt and White Mage.

Nobody can take a hit. My RM is my tank character as he has the best defense. My Blackbelt kills things and does more damage than the other 3 combined. I am hoping to reach the class change because once I do, I am going to be so fast and so much better. Right now, I just finished the fire temple and am trying to go through the Ice Cavern. I am about Level 27 and I probably should level up a bit more. I forgot how hard the game is. Damn hard.

I've got a save file for Origins that I really must continue. If I remember, I just got my class change. I'm using Black Belt, Fighter, Black mage and White mage I believe. Nothing too exciting. As great (and expensive) as fighter is in the start of the game he is quickly overtaken by the Black Belt who is not only cheap but seems to his for huge amount of damage. I should dig it out and carry on... I would love to finish the game.
Azure
I'm usually Level 30 by the time I finish the Cavern of Earth, so I don't have much of an issue later on. The thing I do is, I stay in an area and fight to get enough Gil to entirely upgrade my equipment before moving on to the next town or dungeon, so my characters tend to get a lot of experience.
