I noticed that one of the in-game wallpapers you can get, I noticed that there is a new .Hack Anime (???) in the works??? I can't remember the title they had on it as I was playing it LATE last night, so I don't remember what it is.

Any word from the folks who know???

Edit: Whoa, it's a Manga series... coolness. I wish I could get my hands on it... It supposedly takes place during .hack//roots and the main character meets up with Haseo. (Dunno, that's what the Wiki said...)

It's a manga starring Midori, the "professional" PK-victim. She appeared in a later episode of Roots. I didn't like her character so much though, so I couldn't care less about a side story revolving around her, I guess.

Listen to me though, I will tell you how to exploit X-th form. Do whatever you need to do to get an enemy pressed up against the walls of the area when fighting, then pull out the guns and fire away. They will begin riding up the wall, and they cannot attack in mid-air so you can stay there shooting until they die with no fear of injury. And yes this works for Doppelgangers.

Question though... how do I get more guns??? I've heard that you get the best pair from completing the Forest of Pain (that which I can't access yet), but can you get some from defeating Dopplegangers??? Or where else can I get some new shiny guns??? (Shiny Toy Guns??? haha)

Haha I hate that band.

But sadly, there are only 3 sets in the game. But the second and third have special abilities that more than make up for the lack of options.

You receive the DG-X when you level up to the special class.

The only pair of guns you can receive without traveling to the Forest of Pain is the one you receive by defeating a Doppleganger. You'll receive the gun after you level up to the special class and defeat the Doppleganger. The pair of guns you receive from Doppleganger, the DG-O are the best pair of guns you can receive outside the pair you receive for completing the Forest of the Pain. If you beat the Forest of Pain, you don't need the best pair of guns that badly, do you?

You receive another pair of guns in the Forest of Pain by beating one of the challenges as you progress through the Forest of Pain. This pair of guns, the DG-Y, isn't that good. You only want to receive them to complete the item list.

You receive the last pair of guns for beating the Forest of Pain.

So, in total, four pairs of guns can be obtain through the entire game. You'll find DG-O pair the most useful pair of guns you receive.

Yeah by the time you get them they are pretty useless unless you want to do what I did and max everyone out.

By max, you mean levels? By the time you finish the Forest of Pain, you should be at the max level of 150 for just about every character.

Yeah, but I finished it with only 4 level 150 characters. Haseo, Atoli, Kuhn, and Endrance.

Crazy that they keep making these. I caught onto the crave during the .hack//infection quartet, but gave up after the 2nd when I found the story pretty uninteresting, the gameplay a little slow, and realized it'd be like 200 bucks to buy the 4 damn things.

other than that I've tried to follow the universe on wiki, but honest to god i'm surprised they haven't created a REAL .hack MMORPH

Actually, they did create a real MMORPG for the Japanese market.

Obviously they wouldn't be able to recreate the same player-centric plot surprises that the .hack games were infamous for, so I guess they didn't quite meet the fans' expectations.

It's dead now, it seems.

Hey, since we're on topic, I just finished watching .hack G.U. Trilogy this morning. (I was too tired to finish it last night... haha)

But what's up with the ending?? It seems like they're back to their old tricks again by having UBER cliff-hangers at the end of their productions. Who the crap is the two people talking at the end of it???? And does this mean they are going to make another movie??

Also, I thought they did a good job with Trilogy. Haseo lived up to his Terror of Death quite nicely, but I would have liked a little more interaction with Atoli and Haseo... I realize that this is an hour and a half movie depicting a 100+ hour series, but I think they could have done a little better character development... I thought the form changes were a good thing for it. It made each form that much more significant in meaning (especially the xth form.) Good job peoples on a good movie
