Here is a poem I finished a while back. It is by far one of the best ones I have written.


Fallen to New heights

Watch as the night sky fades away
As darkness surrounds
And the shadows blend with light
I stand caught by change
Watching as my mind unfolds.
"What is happening?"
"Am I no longer?"
The darkness winds around me
Its cold embrace chills.
I fall to darkness
As my light fades to madness.
"How could this happen?"
"What did I do?"
I call
But darkness muffles my cries.
I shake in fear
The cold darkness gathers.
"No!"
"I will not fall to darkness!"
I reach out of the shadows.
I feel warmth upon my hand.
The light peeks through
The shadows begin to fade
Yet they dwell
As light pours in.
Chaos my throne
Yet order
My sanctuary.
I stand tall
Amongst the darkness
Amongst the light.
Immune to fate
A fallen angel
Light shines upon me
Setting my body free
From the grasp of darkness
Yet I live within it.
Following no god,
Controlled by nothing
A new born star
Shining behind the moon.
I have fallen
Amongst the gods
I have risen
To new heights
Beyond the heavens.

Poem

I agree that this is probably your best work. =). One thing I have to point out though is line six; you say, “What is this happening?” - shouldn’t it be “Why is this happening?” or “What is happening?”. That was probably a typo or something, but I thought I’d point it out. Otherwise, it was pretty good. Nice work. =).
