Slated for release in 2009.

I have but one thing to say, and it's going to push to censors to the max, so I'll black it.

Jesus ##### christ why the hell are they ##### remaking The Evil ##### Dead. Those little ##### sucking #### ##### need to get a god damn original thought and stop ##### remaking and ripping ##### off. ##### eating little bitches should ##### die for remaking such a mother ##### god damn classic. ##### your ##### Hollywood, ##### YOUR #####!

Erhm, Discuss.

EDIT:

On further looking, it isn't a remake. It also DOESN'T have Ash in it. W.T.F.
The Evil Dead
You do know that Sam Raimi is the one who is producing and making the movie with his company Ghost House Pictures, right? So I mean if you want to rant, rant at the original creator.

Being that it's helmed by Raimi's production company and as far as I know Raimi is writing the script I'd say we should be in for a good time. If I remember right it's confirmed there will be no Ash character, as Raimi doesn't think anyone can fill Bruce's shoes ( I agree ) but hopefully all those Asian flicks Raimi loves haven't got into his head and ruin any chance for another classic gorefest.

It's definitely a hard movie to remake. I honestly view The Evil Dead as probably the greatest and one of the most influential of all time so I definitely have SOME expectations for this remake.

We'll see what happens.
Voyou San
i honestly could not stand the evil dead movie, only one i cared for was Army of Darkness. But it was a good idea that is, so mabye a remake could liven it up and interest me alittle.
The Evil Dead
What about the scene when one of the deadites eats it's own hand off after it's been sliced? COME ON. CLASSIC!

" You will die! Like the others before you, one by one, we will take you. "

Up there with Hellraiser as far as horror classic. In fact I consider The Evil Dead and Hellraiser to be sacred and they're remaking both... Unfortunately Hellraiser doesn't get any more Clive Barker love and is in the hands of the Weinsteins unlike TED, which Raimi has control over.

Still it will be interesting to see what these movies will be like with an actual budget behind them.

Ibanez.... so what you're trying to say is................

No Ash? What ##### gives? Why isn't Bruce on board?
The Evil Dead
Because he's 50 and probably can't pull off the role of a college student? tongue.gif

Raimi has rumored ED4 for awhile. Bruce will be back as Ash, just wait.
Flame
I'd far more rather see an ED4 then an Evil Dead Remake... Saying that, I've never seen the first Evil Dead (it's on the list) but I love Evil Dead 2 a lot. It would be interesting to see the film with better special effects and the budget might make this a genuinely good film. It all depends on what direction Raimi takes the film. I honestly think this film could go either way, so I'm not going to damn it yet, but I won't lie, I could also see this becoming a terrible remake shouldn't be viewed by anyone.

For now, I'm excited, if a little apprehensive about the finished product.

I think Bruce still has it in him. I don't think charisma dies unless a man sells himself short.
The Evil Dead
Haha... Yeah well we'll see him for the 4th if it ever becomes a reality. They are at least being respectful to the character of Ash and not filling the role with anyone else, as Raimi himself stated there is no one else who can be Ash.

Good to have you posting here more too, dude. Forgot to mention that earlier.

And I think it's good that they wont be trying to shove some wannabe down our throats. Who knows what would happen if Raimi tried to put someone else in as Ash.

The one thing I am worried about now is how it's going to go. Will (if it does come out) this new Evil Dead be Slapstick like ED2 and AoD? Or will it be more horror like the first? I mean honestly, who wants to see a non-campy Evil Dead?

I just don't want the new flick to take itself to seriously, because it would alienate old fans, and give new fans the wrong idea about the previous flicks.
Dr Whippy
hmmm, I tend to agree with TED, if Raimi is remaking it then it could very well turn out good. Bruce will be in ED4, it's just the way it has to be. Flame got it right I'd sooner watch ED4 than a remake, but then I bet I'll go rushing out to watch it anyway.
The Evil Dead
I think Raimi is going to make a serious remake. While the first does have some moments of hilarity, most of them are unintentional despite what many may try to tell you.

I'm just praying that he's not allowing the influence of all of the Asian horror films Raimi has mentioned his love for( His production company is Ghost House Pictures... Producing the American versions of The Grudge and crap like that. ) to take over as opposed to the in your face horror and splatter of the original TED. It was no holds barred and unrelenting and I hope the same holds true for the remake.

Well thanks. My return hasn't gotten much 'good reception'. laugh.gif

And I think you're right about Ash ... only Bruce can have that. After playing such a dellerious role, I think you've earned your exclusive rights.
