WTF!?

QUOTE
While franchises like Resident Evil, Hitman, and Dead or Alive have all made the leap from games to films, few of the industry's original arcade all-stars have managed to steal time on the silver screen. That might change in the near future, because Variety reports that film production company Crystal Sky Pictures has found financing for a slate of films, including one based on Namco's iconic maze dweller, Pac-Man.

The $200 million deal with production company Grosvenor Park will help finance five pictures for Crystal Sky, including the company's previously announced Castlevania project. The remaining projects include a sequel to John Woo's seminal Hong Kong action hit Hard Boiled and Richard Branson memoir Losing My Virginity.

I am quite intrigued how they will make this into a movie, seriously. Any ideas?

Oh. My. God.

I am so going to see this movie when it comes out, at least, if it is as awesome as that little Youtube vidya

I'm taking it that this will be a CG flick? Who would they have dress in a costume tongue.gif ?

Jesus-#####, Pac-Man is for kids. I remember all those late 80's cartoon specials that were airing around the time that the 'Super Mario SuperShow' and 'Zelda' cartoons were big. They were cartoons for small children.

You saw what the ##### happened with the 'Super Mario' movie. That live action ##### was so corny and removed from the actual video games. I just don't think there's any way to do an old vg mascot game for adults ... unless they ... give PacMan an uzi and let him bang The Missus in the back of an Escalade?

Oh yeah, that's already been done on youtube as well ... biggrin.gif

srsly hoping it'd be like the trailer.

"He was some sort of man... some sort of... PACK-MAN."

OR

They could totally play it off half Spiderman half Resident Evil.

Patrick McAnnerin was just an average high school student, going through the motions to get by. But when he is kidnapped by an evil corporation and thrust into a haunted labyrinth for experimental purposes, everything changed. Now, Patrick must battle ghosts, the trecherous labyrinthine walls of the compound, and the evil anonymous corporation that has shackled him for their ominous cause, and to do that, he must assume the identity of his old superhero: Pac Man. As he struggles against the malevolent and mysterious forces he can only hope that he'll make it out alive...

Man, I should pitch that to them. I could write a script and everything.

I don't remember where I got this, but this could be another script :

In 1976, Cosmonaut Nikolai Peckmann was sent alone to an orbiting space station for what would be called Mission Six- to study the radiation levels and strange circumstances that killed all four crewmen of the last research mission.
By the third day, Peckmann's broken transmissions were coming back to ground control filled with increasing paranoia and delusion. He claimed that the spirits of the dead cosmonauts were coming to claim him, and that he had to keep moving to evade them. He shouted that if he could capture consume these spirits himself while he still had strength, he could move to the next level of consciousness...Truly the rantings of an insane man.
Indeed, video recovered later would show Peckmann running around the confined but maze-like station, downing emergency sedatives like a madman....pausing in a corner momentarily, only to throw back vitamin pills and give chase to his invisible demons. He had exhausted the entire cargo of vitamins, pills, and fresh fruit well ahead of schedule. There was no way another crew could be assembled to rescue him before he starved. After one rather violently garbled transmission, the static cleared and the last live image on record is that of Peckmann's empty, wilted spacesuit on the cabin floor. It was determined that another mission to recover any remains or gather any more research would be a waste of the people's money, and the station was allowed to drift out of orbit and into space- a failure never to be mentioned again. It was ordered and assumed that all video and paper evidence had been destroyed.

..then, at the dawn of the eighties, a fledgling arcade game company called NAMCO would stumble across the transcripts of these events, and the rest -as they say- is history.
