Out of all the Capcom games or series, the ones I would like to see or think would be good would be Devil May Cry(Of course) and Lost Planet. Both are very pheasable.

QUOTE
The Resident Evil and Street Fighter series have both already been made into movies, but Capcom wants to see more of its game properties coming to Hollywood.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Capcom president and chief operating officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto confirmed that the company was in talks to adapt other game properties into celluloid, but he refused to name them. He said, "We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon. If realized, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries.

Capcom, please stop letting hollywood take your games and turn them into crappy film adaptations. Make some stipulation in the contract where Hollywood actually has to try and make it good.
Pesmerga
If they do a good job, I am pleased, but this is usually not the case.
It is usually a director that does not know the game at all and just makes a random movie, such as with Resident Evil.

Silent Hill is a good example for a game to movie adaptation, as it stayed true to its roots. Everything was how it was in the games, with a few spin offs, such as Pyramid Head's appearance.
Still, Silent Hill is a good adaptation, so far the best I have seen.

If they do something like what was done with Silent Hill, then I can see it work. Stay with the game, the storyline, names and characters, don't add random things to the movie that never existed.

Agreed. Although I don't think they can make it good even if they tried. The only ones that could please the fans is Capcom who should try to make movies by themselves, like the new RE, and some games should never be made into a movies. Silent Hill is a rare breed.
Voyou San
yes Silent Hill does a very good job of taking the flow and feel of the game and transforming it into an enjoyable and well done movie experience.
The Evil Dead
Off to Entertainment.

And you can't stop the video game movies.

Here's just a few confirmed for the next couple years:

Castlevania, MGS, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Splinter Cell, Kane and Lynch, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, King of Fighters, Resident Evil 4, Mortal Kombat 3, Tekken, Max Payne, Far Cry, and Clock Tower are just a few I can think of that are on the way ( Some are only announced, many are in pre/shooting/post production )... And only one is made by Boll.

Videogames are overtaking Hollywood profits and Hollywood wants in. Much like how books, comic books, and so forth are made into films.

i dont want them to stop, i just want them to start being good. I want hollywood to stop trying to change everything and just use the good story the game provided.
The Evil Dead
It'll never happen. Look how often " true " events, movies based on books, comics or other forms of media vary so much from their film interpretations.

Well... Unless you see The Watchmen. Supposedly as stated by the comic writer David Hayter did the best job anyone could making a script out of the comic. We'll see if that holds true. tongue.gif

It's dreadful to know that the Boll man is still invovled with movies ...

Wolfenstein might be a solid adapt if it doesn't rip too much off of Zombie's 'Werewolves of the S.S.'. And if there's gonna be a MGS flick, Splinter Cell and Maxx Payne will be dead by comparsion. Res Ev and MK might work out -- the MK movies were solid in my opinion, and Silent Hill proved that Survival Horror adapts can work under the right direction.

Wasn't Hayter the voice of Snake in the MGS games? Or is that a different dude with the same name?

Wait, they did that with the live-action Street Fighter and Mortal Combat movies (still pissed about Johnny Cage dying in the first 5 min. of the second one), and they STILL SUCKED!!!!!!!!!

Please do better Hollywood.

Also, I would LOVE a DMC movie.... I might have to break my "no watching R-rated movie" rule to go see it.... if it's gonna be as violent as the games smile.gif

@ TED, so they are making a MGS movie???? must IMDB it...

EDIT:
Jerame, upon further investigation of the MGS movie: (enjoy)

Since voicing Solid Snake, Hayter has carved out a second career for himself as a screenwriter, beginning with Bryan Singer's X-Men. His screenplay adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel Watchmen is being revised by Alex Tse and director Zack Snyder for the long-in-development feature film.

So yes, it appears that it is the same bad A dude.... quite unfortunate that he will not be in the movie...
Noir
I wonder what will happen when they run out of comics and games to make into movies.

Indeed. It will feel weird to hear a different voice with Solid Snake. I have always been a fan of David Hayter's voice for Snake so Snake will never sound they same in a movie to me.
The Evil Dead
You guys will hate the MGS movie. They rejected David Hayter's script treatment for it. He's played all the games many times as well as voiced our beloved Snake.

Guess more movies would be these.

According to a post on Capcom's official US blog, the long-in-the-works Onimusha and Clock Tower film adaptations are finally gearing up for release within the next three years.
The Clock Tower film, which we last reported on in late 2005, is slated for a 2009 release. IMDB reports that Martin Weisz, director of The Hills Have Eyes II, has signed on to direct the film, which is expected to start shooting in July.

An Onimusha film is still something of a far-off prospect, however, with a 2011 release mentioned in the blog entry. Silent Hill director Christophe Gans still appears attached to direct the film, which will reportedly star Takeshi Kaneshiro, basis for game protagonist Samanosuke.

I don't know about Onimusha, but Clock Tower could be a good one if it was done properly.
The Evil Dead
It's not going to be done properly if they're using the director of The Hills Have Eyes 2. It had one of the worst plots and characters ever, and it was pretty poorly directed... However I guess it may not entirely be the director's fault.

I mean I liked THHE2 but only because of the gore. Guy getting pulled through a cave hole too small and getting split in half was awesome. Also I suppose you can't forget the crazy beginning of the movie.

Haha, erm they added so many random things to the Street Fighter movie. I think you really need to watch it again, because you made an unfair statement.
Look at how Zangief looks, nothing like the ingame character, though it would be nearly impossible, but Zangief in the movie looks way too slanky.
On that note, E. Honda is Jamaican in the movie... >< come on, too many random things.

Mortal Kombat movies are decent actually. Sure, the first MK was better, but the second one was a decent movie.

So yeah, stay true to the game.
The Evil Dead
Dude the two MK movies are awesome... The first moreso than the second. I own them both on DVD.

Seems like a stupid idea to ignore one of the more knowledgeable people on the characters advice/edits to me imo.
Pesmerga
The script can be debatable.
What would be worse is, if they actually get Snake a different voice. Imagine a voice for Snake, other than David Hayter.

I am sure that Kojima will get a good script, whether it is Hayter's, or someone else. It is just that I cannot imagine Snake without Hayter's voice, or his Japanese voice =P.

Wait . . . So those 20+ hours I spent on playing MGS 4 wasn't considered a movie?

Hooray for Mortal Combat! Really need to watch those movies again.

lol if you were able to get past that before stopping you've made it pretty far. tongue.gif

Also... Pesmo... I'm sure Kojima is involved but I think he's limited on his involvement in the actual production. I don't see why he'd be involved in turning Hayter down, considering Hayter's credentials.

Probably better than most crap that comes out on screen nowadays (HSM 3, Sex and the City, HSM 2, HSM)
