I know that I'm not alone on this but to me the AshWrym is one big pain in the posteria. No one, and I mean no one should have to spend hours upon hours fighting this thing to get a moon ring. That's crazy pissed.gif !! My God, I thought that the wrym bone, adamantite and the death powder were hard to get but after 20 or so tries at least you got one. This guy, however, gives you nothing!!! Don't get me wrong, I have seen people get them but after how "many" pain staking hours?

I watched one guy get his on the "you tube". But in order to see him do it, he had to cut out 6 parts to make it in just a few minutes; and those 6 parts wound up to be one hour a piece. So to get one moon ring from this pissed.gif , this AshWrym it took this guy 6 hours. No way should this happen. Yes, you want to make the game interesting. But does one have to make it where they take the enjoyment right out of the game? I should think not.

Getting the moon ring from this guy reminds me of FF8 where you had to fight the Greiver and Ultimecia at the same time. What a bear this was. I even had the best guardian in the game "Eden". And according to the guide, this guardian could do over 120,000 pts of damage. Do you think for one minute that I could get 120,000 pts of damage? Not on your life!! The highest that I got was 20,000. Strange isn't it? Needless to say, after many losing attempts, I fed this game to the sharks biggrin.gif . No, I'm not going to feed FF12 to the sharks. It's staying put smile.gif .

I know that some of you have mixed opinions on this but how do you feel about the moon rings? When you got them, was it worth the time and aggrevation? I like to hear what you have to say.

I forgot the order of quests, but have you gotten the Masamune and Genji Gloves yet? If so, just get whoever has the highest attack power, give them the Masamune and Genji Gloves, then cast Haste, Protect, Shell, Berserk, Bubble, and other buffs if you want.

It's how I beat Hell Wyrm in an hour and a half.

I never even bothered to try for a Moon Ring much more than a few kills. It's for the... Sagittarius, isn't it? I don't really use any bows, so I wouldn't say it's worth it, personally. Guns are the way to go when it comes to long range.

If you really wanna keep at it, though... One thing possibly worth mentioning is that a couple show up in the Great Crystal, I believe. Not sure if it's any more convenient to fight them there or not, though. Other than that note, all I can really think to say is just to make sure you've got the appropriate Monographs.

THE MONOGRAPH IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

Without it, there's quite literally a 3% chance you're going to get a moon ring. With one, it only doubles to 6%. That can save you hours.

I remember posting something along the lines of where to find them, but yes, there is one in the great crystal. Starting from the save point near Ultima, you go back one area, teleport, then to the right from there. That circle or the one right next to it has an Ash Wyrm.

And I personally love my Sagittarius. Awesome bow+assassin arrows=pwnage
Also, I found all of my moon rings just doing other things. I only had to continually kill the wyrms for maybe 30-45 minutes to get one.

Actually...I didn't know this counted as a rare drop until reading it on my second play through. The first time I played the game, I just killed a couple of the things for the fun of it, and there it was.

Still, I was just lucky, but I've never had need of one anyway.
