Wow. I just came.

This game is crazy. My brother is addicted and its hitting me right now. I find it alot faster paced and harder than the first one. Visually it is impressive and it keeps gettin better.

Ill put more up when Im able to get more playing time.

I'm probably not going to get this game for a while, but it does look pretty cool. How are the Achievements (I'm guessing pretty impossible). I wonder when the demo is going to roll out so I can check it out.
Phisix
There were some comments and reviews going around that Ninja Gaiden II was not as good Ninja Gaiden.(Except the Graphics) Would you say that?
Verner
I like NG2 better than NG1/S/B. I dunno why, it just feels... smoother to me, I guess. That, and the obliteration and ultimate attacks are just stunning (until you overuse them, I suppose).

The achievements actually aren't too difficult to get. I'm having no problem picking them up, and have had a lot of chances to do so at my current point in the game. Actually, some of them are downright easy to get. There's seriously no problem with getting them. I imagine the hardest ones will be beating the game at the higher difficulties (one achievement for each difficulty), or beating the game using only one of the eight weapons (one achievement for each weapon). The Crystal Skulls (this game's Gold Scarab equivalent) don't give much trouble either.

Everyone complains about the camera though. To be honest, I've yet to have any extreme trouble with it. Granted, it took a little while to get used to it, but you can control the camera really well. If you can learn to control the camera, and not let it go off on its own, you should be fine. I assume most people never think about moving the camera around or something. I dunno, it seems fine to me.

The difficulty is pretty high though, I'll admit. The first boss was pitiful (I had no trouble whatsoever), but the second boss gave me a run for my money, and the third boss is still giving me trouble. =/

The enemies, thus far, are pretty cool too. I like that you can chop off their limbs, causing them to fight in an entirely different way. For example, if you cut off a leg, then the enemy will crawl towards you, and if they happen to get close enough, they grab you, force an exploding shuriken into your chest, and kill themselves, taking a chunk of your life with them. If they lose an arm, they'll knock you on the ground, get on top of you, and slash at you furiously as you try to mash buttons to get out of the hold. They perform hold moves with all of their limbs intact too, but the fact that they seem much more determined after losing a limb is pretty cool. Things like that impress me.

I enjoy it so far, I picked it up on release day, and I'm glad I did.
Phisix
Sounds like a winner then. What would you say has the higher difficulty: NG1 or NG2?
Noonstalker
Im starting NG2 right on Path of the Warrior. I died like crazy until I started gettin it down. Verner pretty much sumed up what I was gonna say. Its a good game, Im not complaining at all!
Verner
Finally got passed the worm/snake/tentacle boss! Hooray me! It took me forever to figure out what to use against it though. For everyone that wants to figure it out on their own, I won't say anything else about it.

Chapter 5 is really neat, I love the atmosphere of the town. The colors of the buildings, the water, it all looks really amazing. Half the time I find myself just looking at the environment, and then getting beat down.

The difficulty is still ramping up, and the trials of valor can get ridiculous. I'm stuck trying to do the one on Chapter 5. =\

As far as weapons go, I definitely love the claws the most, followed by a tie between the dual katanas and the kusari-gama. The Lunar is next, followed by the Dragon Sword. lol, the main weapon is my least favorite. It's useful, but for some reason, I get way more use out of the claws. The dual katanas are really slow, but just really neat to use. The kusari-gama is just a blast. =)

Are there a lack of 360 owners or NG fans... Or both? I know a lot of members are still in the last gen but surely more of you have to have a 360 and this title. I would have been all over it first day of release.

Honestly I'm bitterly jealous I have no 360 to play this on, and friends with 360's that don't care about the NG series.

Well I have the game, but there's 2 things holding me up from playing.

1. - I never owned an original Xbox, as I despised the system and just accepted that I wasn't going to play the whole 5 or less good games it had. Sadly, that included Ninja Gaiden. But with the announcement of NG 2, I recently DL'ed NG: Black on my 360 to play first. So I'm in chapter 12 of NG Black now, and I'll be starting NG 2 as soon as I beat it.

2. - In the middle of playing NG Black, MGS4 comes out. So now I'm all tied up with that game and won't be going near NG until I'm done. I'd be able to play all at once in bits and pieces, but you know, working full time kinda slows me down.

So my order of things to do is something like this.

1. Finish initial playthrough of MGS4.
2. Finish NG Black.
3. FINALLY start NG2.

And this isn't including my FPS-fix in between, so yeah. Overall, NG 2 just picked a bad time to be released. x_x

The only problem I have at the moment is a lack of funds to buy it, otherwise I would have picked up a copy on the day it was released. Been looking forward to it for ages, though.(Especially as I loved Ninja Gaiden and never finished it)
Grahf
I didn't really look too much into this because I never really got into Ninja Gaiden before (although I did have an Xbox and currently have a 360). I enjoy games like this (DMC, GoW, etc.) but just never picked up any of the many versions of the original. However, I have been thinking about getting Sigma as its only $40 now to see if I like it and look into NGII based on what I think of Sigma.
The Evil Dead
You'll be buying NG2. tongue.gif
Ragnarok
Oh man I want to play this so bad. The first one was absolutly amazing and is still my favorite action game of all time. Now that the second one is out im going to have to get my hands on a copy. Its cool I got some Gamestop gift cards I can put towards it. I can only assume it is even more amazing then the first one. it better be damn hard too, like nearly impossible at some points. Thats what I loved about the first game. So hard, a game that took a lot of skill to play and a lot a lot of skill of actually beat. (which I did.) I hope the new one gives me the same sort of experience.
Crimson Cloud
Man this game looks and feels sweet as hell. And yes, you heard me correctly, I said hell. How else would you describe all the beauty of that sweet art for cutting limbs? Hayabusa was always among my favorites since the Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore when I first played it. Story is sweet and the action is sick. Enough reasons for you to get this awesome game.

I dont really "try" to get achievements. I have browsed through them. A lot of them are secret, and all the others are straight forward. Completing new techniques, collecting skulls, and completing chapters as well as the game are all easy and come naturally IMO. If you're really bent on gamerscore, you can always look up the secret achievements on any cheat code website,

Right trigger fixes all camera problems. People are stupid.

This one is no where near as difficult as the first. Not on the first few difficulties anyway.

Some bad enemies would be the larger bats, which seem to be harder to kill that the fiends, and the dogs. Dogs with katanas and exploding shurikens? Last time I checked, the game was called Ninja Gaiden, and not Naruto.

Overall, I quite enjoy the game. Just not a complete fan of some of the changes.

Oh, I also just died, so Im going to play GRID now. laugh.gif

Just wondering if the camera is any better in NGII then in the original because I played NGSigma demo and the camera was pretty bad which makes the game artificially harder because I'd be fighting the camera while at the same time fighting the enemies.

Really? I thought this one was quite a bit more difficult. I flew through the first one, and only died at the first boss.

Really. happy.gif I find this one to be a lot easier with the new fatality system, as well as the weapons being quite the over kill. The new health regeneration is honestly what makes the biggest difference in difficulty from the previous game to this one. Although it has its limits (where the red will appear), it pretty much means you dont really have to care about how much health you lose during on battle, because once it's over, it will just regenerate. You couldnt do that in the first game. Of course, NG2 limites you to 3 herbs and I dont know how many powders, which kind of sucks, but I guess it's to even out the fact that you regenerate your health in the first place.

Moving on from that, the weapons are seriously over kill. Ryu becomes as bad as Kilik once you get the Lunar staff, and after you get the claws you're pretty much unstopable. Tapping Y, and Y alone kills anything and everything. This game is by far easier than the first because of that. It's not a bad thing, because the first one was pretty bothersom at times with how hard it could be. Dont get me wrong though, they made a awesome choice by putting in a wider range of difficulty selections.

Note; if you missed a weapon or a life of the gods you will be able to purchase it from Maramusa in the next
chapter says an internet guide on items. Im assuming that you keep everything when you re-play the game over and over because of the fact that the weapon achievements require you to have a certain weapon the whole game.

Right trigger centers the camera? Sigma had a center camera button too, but it doesn't really help that much.

It helps a lot. Especially during battles.

I played the Sigma demo that basically lets you play the first level of the game and the camera in those cramped areas just don't work, even after centering the camera there is still usually something obstructing my view. I know I shouldn't be comparing the two, but the DMC series had a pretty good camera because they were semi-fixed. I wonder if Ninja Gaiden might benefit from such a move. The camera is probably one of the most important things in these types of games especially Ninja Gaiden when you are moving so fast, to let the camera hinder the slick gameplay is just a shame.

Can anyone tell me some good strategy with the final boss. If thats the final one in chapter 14...
Is there any other way to hit him without using bow? I sometimes hit him in the head but it doesn't do any damage, is it because I need to strike his damn eye? Is there a particular moment when you need to damage him there and then that glowing ball in his chest?

Looks as if they either made it too easy for NG vets or just made the enemies too damn cheap with a spiked dildo strap-ons.

I just played through the demo (didn't know there was one until someone mentioned it here) for Sigma and really liked it, so at the end of this week I'll pick up Sigma, play through and see how I like it, then check out II accordingly. On a side note, I didn't think the demo was that hard, but I'm assuming it was set at a lower difficulty so that most people aren't instantly turned off by the notoriously high difficulty.

The only thing I have to complain about is the minor camera trouble I had (got attacked from off screen at points) but it wasn't that bad or frequent. Also, I guess I should say that I didn't think Ryu's voice was very fitting when he spoke for the first time at the end of the chapter. I guess I'm just used to his deeper Japanese voice actor Ryu has in the DoA series (which I really think fit better and will probably play the game in japanese voice if possible).
