Okay everybody I have a list of three movies and I'd like to know which one you all like the most.

Harry Potter: About a wizard who finds out he's the boy who lives. Tries to defeat the Great Lord Voldermort.

Star Wars: A jedi goes on a quest to become a great jedi. He tries to defeat Darth Vadar.

Lord Of The Rings: A boy finds a ring and must figured out how to destroy it.
Loomis
Star Wars.

And it's not only Darth Vader, there's more then one big baddie!
Phisix
There is only Star Wars. Lord of the Rings is okay, but Star Wars is far better. Lightsabers are the only weapon you need.
Voyou San
depends on which star wars you are talking about. If you are talking about the Harrison Ford star wars then yes, that is my pick. If you are talking about the new stars wars, then i will take Harry Potter.

Yeah, the classics are the best. Episode I and Episode II were awful, but I did like Episode III and thought it was a good Star Wars movie.
Alazuli
Star Wars. 8]

I'm biased towards the Harry Potter books over the movies and I never could get into Lord of the Rings.
Markies
Lord of the Rings.

I like fantasy over Science Fiction and Magic/Sorcery.

I am very casual when it comes to Star Wars and I never understood/liked Harry Potter.
kioli
Lord of the rings as well . Im a fan of killind everything with a sword spear and bow&arrows

negative on Epi III, it was pitful and terrible and the dialogue made me want to die.. None of the new star wars were worth a damn, and thats sad..
The Evil Dead
Star Wars. Screw the movies, the books kill them so bad. I mean without the movies there would be no books, but the books based on the universe and characters totally slay the films.
Dylan Sprouse
I don't see what's wrong with any of the star wars. But whatever different people have different oppoions. I love the harry potter books and movies and anything else to do with Harry Potter. I'm obbssessed with Harry Potter lol. Yes, it's true.

bad acting, bad script, bad casting, terrible dialogue, stupid characters (jar-jar) and yet another set of movies that sacrifices everything for bigger explosions.. talking about epi 1-3
Azura
I'm more partial to the Harry Potter books. :3 Star was is pretty awesome, but Lord of the Rings takes it for me. I just love that kind of fantasy too much. ^.^
The Evil Dead
I never said I had anything against Star Wars outside of the movies. They inspired the universe that has a legion of books based on the Star Wars universe that will have you saying " Luke who? ".

I mean I enjoy the original movie trilogy enough but honestly the Jedi Academy book trilogy slays it.

Technically, Frodo was the age of adulthood (32 or something?) for hobbits, so I wouldn't consider him a boy rolleyes.gif

Anyways, I prefer the LOTR movies. They just blow me away really, the story, the characters, the effects, atmosphere, everything. Not that Star Wars are any less of movies, I think that they're universally better. I just prefer LOTR happy.gif The only thing I liked about the Harry Potter movies was the casting of the Weasleys... that's pretty much it.
Dylan Sprouse
That's all cool. Different people like different things. I haven't watched any of the star wars movies or LOTR in a while. Maybe I'll watch some of them today.
Jerame
Stars Wars for sure.

Some people didn't like the prequel trilogy because it was bogged down with a lot of formal talk and politics, but I personally liked all that dialogue. The fights are just ##### epic, and Sidious is just so snaky --- I loved his character development and his manipulation of The Republic.

Potter is alright, but a lot of that kinda fantasy wizard ##### is kinda goofy to me. And I never really felt Lord of the Rings either, but it had a medieval kinda feel to it, and I'm more of a sci-fi nut than anything.
Dylan Sprouse
I liked the newest star wars one too. But i'm still a really big harry potter fan. I love that magic stuff so much.
Nocinderella
I enjoyed the new Star Wars movies, it took me a while to watch them because I thought they looked crap. Maybe it was Hayden Christiansen as Annakin that changed my mind tongue.gif I thought their light saber fights were awesome, when I went back to the originals and saw them swinging around their weapons, I couldn't help but wait for 1 of them to do a double forward flip or run across the walls.... it never happened nocomment.gif
cloudycat
I've always like most fantasy based movies growing up and I still like things with a bit of imagination now. So I pretty much like all the films listed but in order it would be Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings and then Harry Potter all good films though. I loved the whole Star Wars saga(prequels included) but I do think the original trilogy were the best by a long way.
Dylan Sprouse
Out of the star wars movie my order would be something like this, "Episode 1, 3, 6,4,5,2." Something like that. I"m not really sure If I like episode 1 or 3 the most though, they were both pretty good. I stil love harry potter though.
Atoli-chan
I was never into sci-fi and the lot that went with it. I'm more of a fantasy and magic fan before all else. So my favorite series is Harry Potter, though I didn't like the ending at all.

the youth of today.. how sad it is..
Dylan Sprouse
Finally, now I'm not the only one here that has Harry Potter as there favortie. Which ending don't you like? Meaning which book/movie.
Atoli-chan
I honestly didn't like the way Rowling finished the last book. Besides the fact that she

KILLED MY BELOVED HEDWIG IN THE FIRST FIFTY PAGES

She could've done ALOT better with the epilouge too. It was only centered only Harry, and I wanted to know what happened to a few individuals, like Ron for instance.
Nocinderella
But you do learn about Ron, like how he and Hermione finally get together and have kiddies. You also see Malfoy in the epilogue and you hear what happens to Neville.

Even with all the deaths during the book, I still liked it overall. I think, considering that they were taking on a murderous dark lord, some of their friends (yes poor Hedwig and... was it Fred or George? tongue.gif) ended up dying in the many frays. Sad but realistic.

I felt that the happy ending made up for it.
Atoli-chan
Yeah but that was a bit overboard in the last book. I literally stpped reading for a day or two cause the book didn't really grasp me like its predecessors.
Nocinderella
Wow really? I couldn't put it down, I read it in 3 days (note that this was during school). It was the 6th book that I didn't have any interest in, I've reread every single HP book more then twice, but I can never reread that one. The worst in my opinion.
Atoli-chan
I can agree with you on that point. The only thing that I was interested in was when they were going into detail with the horcruxes and the introduction of the deathly hallows. Other than that, I kinda lost some interest with the slow plot. I mean it is a good book, don't get me wrong, it's just the ending that's a major turn off to me.
Dylan Sprouse
Atoli-chan you're not serious are you?! It did say what happened to Ron. He married Hermione and they had kids. Ya I was really sad that she killed Hedwig too. But that didn't get me to not like Harry Potter anymore. I love the harry potter series and I always will.

No kidding happy.gif
Atoli-chan
Really? Maybe I missed it. After all, after the last chapter, I really didn't read pay attention at the epilogue. (Plus the fact I was reading this at like 4 in the morning.
Dylan Sprouse
Oh haha. The part with who married who, was in the epilogue so ya.
Phisix
I always thought the Harry Potter books were stupid, but I watched the movie for the hell of it and I found it was okay. All the movies so far have been good enough for me to watch. Not as good as Star Wars or Lord of The Rings though.
Voyou San
enjoyed both the books and movies a lot.. harry potter that is
Dylan Sprouse
Oh. I liked Lord of the Rings, but haven't watched it in a while. Star Wars I used to like a lot, but haven't watched in a while. I'll get to it sometime though, since I'm on summer vacation now. I still love Harry Potter the most though.
Apple
Sweet jesus.

Harry Potter is easily my LEAST favourite of the 3 series.

Terrible acting, bad casting (for certain characters, not ALL of them), and there's something nauseating about a bunch of teen-preens running around casting magic together. (Although I give the fourth movie some merit for having Clemence Poesy as Fleur.)

Second place would go to Lord of the Rings. Beautiful movie, plotline has epic backgrounds in great literary culture, the casting was very very well done, and it was very true to the original storyline. I mean, there is bias due to the fact I love the books, but it is a universal pleaser to me.

First would most definitely go to Star Wars. It's just a cult classic, how do you not love Star Wars? The series itself has had a huge impact on the world, it had amazing visuals considering the time period it was created in. (That applies to both past and present.) And the gimmick of doing the later movies first before the earlier ones makes it all the more interesting.

.....i'm just rambling. .___.
Dylan Sprouse
Wowwwww Harry Potter is aswome dude. I don't know what you're talking about. But whatever people have different oppions.
Voyou San
to each his own, but i wouldnt really say that the harry potter movies had bad acting or casting..
Apple
I can be very critical when it comes to movies. I can scrutinize them down to little itty bits.

The earlier movies were just dreadful in acting, but you know I guess you can't blame 11 year olds? (Oh wait, Kirsten Dunst was 10 in Interview with a Vampire and Dakota Fanning was a young actress too....oh wells I guess every kid can act well.) My biggest complaint would be the overexaggeration of phrases and facial expressions. Daniel Radcliffe is especially bad. Very stiff, blocky, and boy needs to work on his "I AM ANGRY" face. It goes the same for a lot of other teen-stars on there too. Stiff, blocky, delivery of lines can be mundane and not spontaneous as real life should be.

Now, the older actors such as Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter...they are gold. They are pretty much the only reason why I wouldn't completely hate the Harry Potter series. ♥

p.s. I thought CEDRIC DIGGORY was supposed to be handsome? :s Looks like his name should be "Igor" or something.

You mean the girl who pretty much posed the entire movie and had one line, when in the book the character had plenty to say.

hell yeah. Clemence Poesy is painfully hip.................in real life anyways.

I didn't agree with her as Fleur. (Not glam-glam enough?) But I have to give them credit for at least casting someone hip.

At first I thought it suited her character, but I guess the lack of lines just never caught my interest in the movie. Besides the HP movies like you said are pretty bad. The only reason they're successful is because fans of the book continuously hope there is gonna be movie that's "true to the book".
Dylan Sprouse
Not to be mean Apple but hmmmm....... I don't think you know what you're talking about at all about Harry Potter. None of the acting or action was terrible. You must just be a stupid idiot.

Those things are subject to opinion, and most likely an 18 year old with much more knowledge in acting, graphics, and cinematography would have more to say than a 15 year old. cool.gif

On Topic, I hate trilogies/series.
WHAT ABOUT THE MATRIX OR UNDERWORLD OR OR OR OR OR

Lord of the Rings bored me to pieces. Utter pieces. Both the books and the films. Harry Potter, well, they've never really been true to the books, and the books aren't all that great anyways. Star Wars would probably be the best out of them all, but I can't say I enjoyed them much more than the others, I can say the original films did it right though.

I don't look for the same things in movies that everyone else does. I can appreciate some things, but for me to enjoy a movie it has to rack my brain a little bit, as opposed to just sitting for a ride. I'm an elitist snob, what can I say?

that is a bit too much there, everyone has their own opinions.. just because hers differ from yours does not mean she is stupid..

i would actually think you the stupid one for getting your panties in such a wad, but thats just my opinion.

and apple, i woudl say those two that you mention, dunst in interview and that other chick, if i remember correctly their movies were a bit more serious while the early Potter movies were more aimed at kids and more humorous, so i think the type of acting that was involved was a little different.

I dont think the Potter kids were amazing, but i also do not think that it was bad acting, they played their parts good i think, nothing exceptional, but by no means bad.

You have have lost a total 5,000 points, if life was like a video game, by your response. Why?
1. You lack evidence to support your claim on the HP movies.
2. You're insulting someone on the internet.
3. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and who are you to judge another's opinion.
4. You insulted one of the more respected members of this forum.
5. You used a double negative in you're speech, which by now only people who are illiterate would make that common mistake. Aren't you suppose to be learning that kind of stuff in your english classes?
Noir
I don't think "stupid idiot" counts as a double negative, dear.
