Ok folks who live in the UK. I noticed that you were all complaining about your weather today. This is worth noting, since I'll make my question later. I checked weather.com and although I'm not used to degrees C, I did the math and it only converts to around 70 degrees F. THAT'S NOT HOT!!!! I always wondered why Europeans (or at least all the europeans I've personally seen) are extremely white... and I'm baffled. If you think that 21 degrees is too hot, do you wear shorts and T-shirts??? or pants and long-sleeves... because logic would follow that if you're hot you're gonna wear slightly (slightly Xerno) less clothes than when it's 0 C. Therefore your skin is more exposed to the sun, you SHOULD get a little tan... maybe.

So now onto my actual topic question.... What's your favorite temperature to run outside and do stuff in?? I personally like it when it's 75-80 degrees F. That means I can go to the beach without a wetsuit and only need a long rash-guard and surf all day. It gets around 100 in my part of the states, but this year is kinda lame because the winter never wanted to let go EVER. (for all you Euros, it's 26 deg. C ATM)
The Evil Dead
I prefer it to be in the lower 70's myself... And yes, the winter this year WOULDN'T let go. Thankfully summer is here and there's glorious heat to keep me from freezing my ass off or scraping ice and snow off my car.

Thankfully it hasn't started to get ridiculously hot yet. Close, but not to how it can be. I'm waiting for the day when I step outside and I can feel the air engulfing me due to the humidity.

But yeah the 70's with a nice spring breeze is where it's at man. I could stay outside all day if it were like that 24/7.

Which could lead me into veering off topic about how the world should be air conditioned. ohmy.gif
Loomis
It was 28C here yesterday, quit your whining. We lost at least 3 polar bears.
Big Delicious
LOL..it was 126 F here two days ago, record breaking heat. I like it hot, good for tanning and a athlete who trains in heat can survive anywhere. It gets cold here too though downwards to 15 F in the winters someplaces.
Phisix
We are used to cold and rainy weather, not big heat.

Nothing beats like going from 100 degrees, to like... Zero degrees. Let me tell ya.
Noir
Like 89 F here now, and getting hotter every day.
Chalryn
'Bout 97°F (about 36°C) as a high here today, plus whatever the humidity is. (Cooling down to the mid-80's range, though, over the next week.) Needless to say, summer has arrived, and I have not stepped outside once today (with the exception of letting the dogs out this morning).

I can't agree more about the winter not going away this year. Glad it's finally gone. (Though the rain over the past few weeks here was a bit ridiculous, and a month late according to "April showers bring May flowers.") This heat wave kinda came out of nowhere, though, and we were quick to throw the air conditioners in the windows.

As for preferred temperature range, I'd definitely say somewhere in the 70's (about 21-26 in Celsius), perhaps with a slight breeze. Something I can comfortably wear a standard t-shirt and pants in, and even move around a bit in without getting too warm. My mood can be easily swayed by the weather, and if conditions are something like that, my mood's generally just about at its peak, I'd say. =]

Here in the Midwest, we are used to extreme temperatures. We actually have 4 seasons. This winter, we had a foot or two of snow & ice with it being around 5 degrees. During the summer, we usually hit 100 with high humidity.

This winter was brutal, so I am looking forward to the warm temperatures. I wish it would stop raining as we are about 2 feet over our average for this time of year. Our rivers are flooding constantly and I am tired of it raining every few days. I am ready for some extreme dry heat. The past week or so, we have finally gotten some real summer temperatures with it being in the 80s & 90s, so that is at least positive.

I'd rather have it around the low 80's. The 70's can be annoying cause the temperature fluxuates too much. The low 80's keeps it warm, but not boiling hot. I'm inside 99% of my day, so having perfect weather for outside activities is not a big priority for me.

Uk'ers aren't used to the hot weather that's why they complain. Don't moan about Uk'er's moaning about the heat when we're used to temperatures of around 9-15 degrees C and the fact that it almost rains every other day. Very hot temperatures aren't as common here compared to where you live.

Of course, I'm not really one to moan about the heat because I go to places like Hong Kong where it's over 30 degrees C (100F+). Although, my cousin's lived in Hong Kong all her life and the temperature there goes from 30 degrees C to almost 40 and still complains that it's hot, so whatever you're saying about the UK happens in other countries so I don't why you're taking a shot at the UK.

Anyways, my ideal temperature would be 15-18 degrees C with the sun out in the blue skies! ;D

Today was about 25 degrees C with barely any wind at all and we found a few dolphins dead on a side shore today according to the news ;__;. Plus, I had to work in the kitchen making several tubs of fried rice... it was BOILING HOT in there D;

Where I live, winters are usually in the negatives (It's been -36F here before, record breaking) and the summers are 100+ (F). And it's dry. Very dry. Not at all like the humid land I lived in before. It snows feet upon feet here, and there are so many forest fires in the summer. Ugh.

I don't like the heat much. I love hiking, and when it's hot out is when the rattlesnakes and scorpions come out. I prefer the weather to be 50-60 F. Kinda warm, but still nice and cooool biggrin.gif

Omgosh, I know what you mean, Theferrel, about English people complaining about the weather. Although I live in Portugal, I go to boarding school in England and it must be around 25°C at the moment where I am in England. Everyone over here is complaining about how hot it is. o__o'

25°C is too cold for me. :*( In Portugal, during the summer it goes up to 50°C, although I prefer it when it's around 35°C. ^.^ Perfect beach weather really. ;D ♥

I'm down with about 65-70ish, though I'm also pretty big on winter too (as long as it's above 20 F). I honestly can't stand summer, and the 90-95 streak we've been on here is starting to get annoying. Before I got my AC hooked up, I was sweating so bad that I had to shower like 5 times daily to keep from smelling like a yetti. So I guess I'm more of a mild to mildly cold kinda guy.

That being said, summer needs to end. Now.

What's wrong with winter? Lower temperatures are much more preferable than higher ones. Heat makes people jumpy, nervous and morose. I've never met anyone who had negative emotions caused by winter. I'm talking about an average person. They'll blow at their hands and complain how cold it is, but won't be nervous and agitated by it. Heat makes people irascible. Sleeping outside during winter can be a bit of a problem, yes, but when you get home at one freezing night, there is nothing that'll make you fall asleep like that sensation.

So, I prefer lower temperatures, winter temperatures. The chill, the cold air blowing through the scarf, through the skin, numbing you; the fresh air. Though that's just me.

I can't believe people from my country whine about the hot weather either. It always annoys me because they complain when its cold then they complain when it's hot huh.gif I LOVE the hot weather man and wish it was hot everyday. I'm one of those people who actually like to get out of the house do something worthwhile and make the most of the weather. I'm actually p!ssed off it's going to start raining again tomorrow.

I bet it's because you can't show off your muscles.

laugh.gif Very funny. Well apart from a sleeveless t-shirt, sports vest or a short sleeve t-shirt I remain pretty well covered up unless I'm lucky enough to get to a beach in the hot weather.

I like the temp to be in the mid to upper 60's. It's been hot as hell for the last week here in Ohio, and I'm ##### sick and tired of it. 97 degrees is too hot to function. You just end up huddled inside the house running the air conditioner and rack your damn electric bill. Kinda like ... in the winter when you're snowed-in running the heater and racking your gas/electric bill even higher.

I'm tired of extremes ... I wish the weather would just level off and be temperate.
Nocinderella
A thread about weather eh? Genius happy.gif

I hate extremes. I'd rather it be just warm (about 25 C) with a cool breeze. I wish most of our weather was like that, then I wouldn't have an excuse to sit inside playing video games all day.

That is a retarded statement. I live in Alaska, and I know PLENTY of people who get negative emotions because of the winter. (Just about everybody). Ever hear of Seasonal Affective Disorder? "winter depression"

As for heat making people jumpy, nervous and morose? In high heat people aren't jumpy and nervous, they are usually more laid back and/or lazy. At least in my personal experience.

Summer days that have moderate temperatures with chilly breezes are nice, otherwise I’ll take my frigid cold.
Red_ryaN
I hate how people complain about how cold it is all winter, and they cait wait till summer, then the first hot day we have everyone just stays in their basement saying it's too hot to do anything

People are different everywhere, and you can't compare Alaska, or Finland, or Norway, or Sweden or somesuch, with people who live in a Mediterranean climate. It's entirely different.
Crimson Cloud
The colder, the better. Loved summer when I was a kid but not anymore. It's so hard to work when you are sweating, especially if you have small room with computer and no fan...
Denim
Gah, people complain too much. 96 is too hot, and 75 is too cold. Like, people will be outside and will complain about hot goddamn hot it is (and 96 isn't near unbearable) and walk into an air conditioned room and complain how cold it is. dry.gif; that's annoying.

There are a few points I'd like to point out

TheFerrel: You live in Utah... There is ZERO humidity. It happens to be the only part of America I've ever visited (Actually the only place outside Europe I've visited... actually make that the UK) but I could stay out all day in your heat and although the temperature is far higher then in the UK, it's FAR FAR FAR more bearable.

-Vincent-: As Hugo has pointed out SAD is an actual medical problem who people from ALL AROUND THE WORLD are diagnosed with. And it's actually really quite common (Of course there are varying degrees). I don't know why everyone you know gets paranoid or jumpy when the sun comes out but that just sounds like you associate with bizarre people. I'll agree that some people aren't as tolerant in the summer (The heat shortens people's tempers) but that's about it.

Everyone else: Let's get something straight about the UK, we hate everything and the only thing we love is hating things so we can complain about them. Ok, so this is a very broad way of seeing things but it's no exaggeration that we love to talk about (and then complain about) the weather. I work in retail where constantly all frikkin day all I do is talk about the weather and 99% of people complain about it. Even if the weather is perfect people complain about the weather that is to come or quickly remind me that it won't last long. It's just a British thing but most importantly it doesn't really reflect what we really think. When it comes to the weather, the British have a whole culture behind it and I hate stereotyping the British, but this stereotype just happens to be right (unlike all the other American stereotypes such as overly-posh or exaggerated cockney accents, constant talk of tea and bad teeth). Just like how American's are fat, the British love talking (and subsequently complaining) about the weather. Although I think this is more of an older generation thing.

Anyway... Rant over...

Oh, memories. I remember your mother being stingy with the air conditioning. Upper 60's to Lower 70's these days, usually nighttime to promote weapon training.

I do like winter, but summer has it's advantages now that I've moved out of the ghetto.
