I'm using our most popular threads in this forum as an example here. Naruto for instance, has a manga that goes waaaay ahead of the current anime episodes. The current thread here encloses both of these in the same thread, filling it with spoilers and whatnot and leaving it unable to discuss in unless you've read the manga as well. Of course, alot of people here do that as well.

Anyways, just an idea to fling out here, how about splitting the two up? One manga discussion and one anime discussion. I think it'd be a little more fair to alot of people that don't follow both and don't want anything spoiled. This would pretty much just apply to the big topics though.

Nevertheless, I'm suggesting this here, but I'd like to know if this is something the people in this forum would think is necessary. I mean, if it's only me that wants it split up for instance it shouldn't really matter.

As for the current topic, it'd be closed to make way for the others, if this thing goes through.

This is exactly why I tend to avoid the Naruto Shippuuden thread altogether. Though I do check now and then, most of it is just blacked out as spoilers or regarding the manga otherwise, which I don't read (or at least not yet), anyway. If, by chance, something about the anime is mentioned, I usually hop on the chance to put in my two cents, but within another post or two, it goes right back to the manga. Especially with the popular series, as you pointed out, things get a little hectic, and it can be hard to keep up with everyone's topics, especially when you're skimming through, trying to avoid spoilers.

I've been thinking along the same lines for a while now, and I don't particularly see any problem with the idea of splitting them up, so I'd like to see this happen.

i like the idea of under japanese animation part of the forum, have an anime subsection and a manga subsection and make the split there.

I avoid all topics about Anime that I watch because of this. So yeah, I'd like to see something done to separate it.

I second that notion.

I don't think that's necessary, both Anime and Manga threads can coexist in the same forum. I don't think it warrants enough activity in either of the seperate ones to split them up.

Of course, it shouldn't be a problem to mark out which thread is the anime one and which is the manga one.

you know though, it just cancels out any issues that could come. That way people know for sure, "hey, i am clicking into a manga subsection, only manga will be talked about there" or the other way around with an anime subsection. I know they dont get a lot of topics but i still think it would make things easier than having to label each topic anime or manga, and mabye someone forgetting and posting spoilers to the anime in a manga topic.

I'd be all for the idea, particularly for the Naruto thread. It'd make things easier for those who don't read the manga, and for those who do, we'd no longer have to black out great deals of a lot of posts.
