I have to say that I am very disappointed with the Wii game lineup. Only a few games appeal to me like Smash Bros, Mario Party and all the first party games. But once I beat those there is nothing left. The third party variety for Wii is horrible in my opinion. Most of the games are just a bunch of minigames for "casual" gamers that show what the Wiimote can do. It really sucks for the hardcore gamers like me because there really isn't many good or challenging games.

I've given the Wii a chance and I've been waiting as patiently and as long as I can because I'm a big Nintendo fan but I'm just getting frustrated. Plus there is like no RPGs for the Wii and that is killing me too. I'm getting a PS3 eventually. Anyone feel the same way or have any opinions on this matter?
The Evil Dead
I've felt that way since day one.

Just like the GC you're limited to being lucky if the first party titles are enjoyable enough, and then the third party support is absolute crap... As are the majority of the titles. It's not on the same level as the two other current generation consoles, meaning if there are any third party ports of multi console releases it's generally some bastardized version.

If it weren't for ToS2, I doubt I'd really consider actually buying a Wii. There are other games I'm interested in (Fire Emblem, Zelda, plus I think a Castlevania is coming out, along with a few others), but if it weren't for my major Tales fanboyism, I doubt I'd seriously consider forking over dough to buy a Wii. Actually, I still don't think I would. My sister's fiance has one, so if anything, I'd probably just get games and use *theirs* when I visit or they visit home (in fact, she already said I could do that with ToS, haha...). Doubtful I'd play the games that often anyway, so it'd work...

*shrugs*.

lol Yeah seriously. SNES was pure own. I find it sad that these modern Nintendo consoles can't measure up. You'd normally think that a modern console would be way better because of the technology in this day and age. I guess that goes to show that technology doesn't always make things better. Instead of caring about good games they just want to show off their new technology, the Wiimote. It is cool yeah I admit. But it'd be even cooler if you can actually use its functions in an actual good game.
Phisix
It may lack a lot of games at the moment but there are some good games which keeps it going, and of course future titles.

Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Mario Kart
No more Heroes
Resident Evil 4: Wii Ediion
Zack and Wiki
Okami
Wii fit
Boom Blox
Fire Emblem
Trauma Center

I know it is not much, but they are some good and fun games there. The Wii does have the virtual console if you like your classic games too which helps a tiny bit. Still, I do agree with what you guys say.
Finn
Yeah those are good games indeed and I really wish there was more of them for the Wii. I was extremely excited for the Wii too and after all that excitement only to get let down it's very frustrating. It's a shame that all the Wii is being used for is by developers who want to make a quick buck by making all these Wiimote minigames.

I think the N64 would take offense to your statement. It may not have had the largest lineup in the world, but they had some good quality games.

Rare made some EXCELLENT 3rd-party games for that system. Banjo Kazooie, Conker, Goldeneye. The Star Wars games produced for that system were great as well with the Rogue Squardron series. Along with the Mario Party/Mario Sports titles. Also, the first party titles are some of the best ever. Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Super Smash Brothers.

And for the multi-platform games, I don't think the Saturn/PS1 versions were any better. For some, I think they ran better on the N64 thanks to no load times and the graphics not being too terribly behind. In the end, the PS1 is superior, but I still think the 64 had a better quality of games than the Gamecube.

I agree with you when it comes to the Gamecube though.

I have the same problem, there are only a very few amount of games on the Wii I consider to be interesting. To copy the link from Phisix:

Zelda: Twilight Princess [played on the NGC/not really interested]
Super Mario Galaxy [not interested at all]
Super Paper Mario [not interested]
Mario Kart [not interested]
No more Heroes [look like a good game, quite interested in this one]
Resident Evil 4: Wii Ediion [played the PS2 version, no need to get it for this one]
Zack and Wiki [Cute, but nothing for me]
Okami [I have the PS2 version]
Wii fit [God no]
Boom Blox [Ugh]
Fire Emblem [not my kind of game]
Trauma Center [err... no]

I add to this:

SSBB [the only game I am really interested in]

This is about it for me, when it comes down to games on the Wii.

This is something Nintendo need to start sorting out if they want continue having a future and a fan base. That said, most developers are not interested in the Wii. Motion sensing games are fun to a point, but most gamers prefer the more conventional form of gaming.(My self included)

The top four of that list is what most Nintendo fans play or by the console for, and that is still not enough to keep playing a Wii. That top four is also on every generation.(Different versions or variants)
The Evil Dead
Wii fit? That's not a game, it's a gimmick.

Also the 64 was garbage in my opinion, Markies. I could care less how many titles they had from one third party developer, Rare. They used cartridges once more embracing the last generation instead of moving forward as the PS1 and Saturn did. I must disagree that the 64 was a good system at the time or is now. The only titles I'd consider memorable for the system would be Goldeneye ( I didn't like PD ) Mario 64, and WCW Vs NWO: Revenge ( I'm being serious, it's actually very fun. ).

That's just my thoughts on it though.

Nintendo is basically slapping it's true fans in the face at the moment. All they care about is these casual gamers who know nothing about gaming and just think that the wiimote's motion sensor capabilities is the coolest thing they ever seen and they just go crazy for it. They can enjoy all the money they're making now but once this craze dies down Nintendo is screwed and I'm going to be laughing.

They have a fan base that's bigger than the other two consoles at the moment based on sales of the console. Nintendo will need to change their current plan if they want to keep certain groups of fans that have become fans of the company over the years. I'm not fan of companies myself, so I don't mind their approach since they're releasing enough games of interest on the Wii to my liking.

Why is Nintendo's future in question? From their sales records, they're doing better than Microsoft and Sony. Both companies should worry about their future, too?

I will state that Nintendo current approach likely won't appeal to every person. Doesn't mean it's the wrong approach.

What they care about is being a successful business, like every other business and developer in the gaming market. While making the product fun, there is the goal of making money, which Nintendo seems to be doing quite well.

What craze? The Wii been since 2006. Still in demand, too.

Why would you even laugh? Because they're not developing games to your liking? Quite a egocentric view on the approach Nintendo has took.
Twilight09
Well E3 is coming up so maybe they will announce some good game titles.

I for one, is praising that they make some sort of announcement for the new Zelda Wii
