Edward Norton turns into the Hulk. It's alright, it involves Liv Tyler (me no fan) and this british dude whose name escapes me, and the Hulk and all that jazz.

Well, since it was good there really isn't a lot to say, other than the fighting is pretty good, and like, dude, Edward Norton. Also, Tony Stark is very ominous at the end of the movie - "No, you should listen. We're thinking of starting a team/group." Are we speaking of SHIELD or something of the sort here?

Overall 10/10.

Yah.

-----------------------------
"I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr.," the Oscar-winning actor told MTV News Friday at the Sundance Film Festival. "It's a funky scene."

For those who haven't heard the news, superhero house Marvel Comics is aggressively cross-pollinating its superheroes, most likely in preparation for an eventual "Avengers" movie. That means Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury will make a cameo appearance in May 2's "Iron Man," and ol' metalhead himself will drop into "Hulk."

It's not SHEILD. The group they are talking about is The Avengers(as mentioned above) I remember it from my comic book reading days and if I remember rightly it was Captain America, Spiderman, Ironman The Hulk, Thor and quite a few others that escape me - all the mentioned Superheroes are getting new film adaptations soon so The Avengers movie is inevitable. Oh and the villain was played by Tim Roth who always plays an excellent villain and a damn character actor he's just usually in "arty farty" films.

I can't wait to see this film though man. It's good news it has your approval and that it's getting some decent reviews. I just hope we get to see this 'Edward Norton cut' that's been mentioned quite a few times on DVD/Blu-Ray.
Voyou San
the group i would think would be avengers

i hate liv tyler so that part of the movie sucked, Edward Norton was good as he always is, the brittish guy did a good job of making me dislike him. Overall a good movie and leagues above the first piece of crap hulk movie.. As good as Eric Bana can act, Norton > Bana anyday..

avengers also had Wonder Woman correct? And the guy in a red suit that could grow really big? or no? he was in the avengers movie.
The Evil Dead
I'm down for some Avengers. Captain America can end his 10 hit ground combo with Stars and Stripes.
Jerame
I haven't seen this yet, but I will be going this weekend for sure.

I was not impressed by Edward Norton replacing Bana, but I willing to give it a shot. I thought Bana was a good Bruce Banner. I'm also not a fan of Liv replacing Jennifer either -- I think that Jennifer is much nerdier and better looking.

And you knew the avengers was coming with all these Marvel superhero movies being made. I'd love to see it.
Ragnarok
I really hope that this one is a lot better than the last. So far so good it seems, from what I have heard and seen this one should be a lot better, but I can't say anything for sure yet, until I see it.
Denim
Hm, when I heard Avengers, I thought of Captain America, and like, The Submariner, hell, 3D man etc. rather than Spiderman and Iron Man and Hulk, but alright, I'm not particularly familiar with their series either way.
Razael
I went to see it yesterday and its baddass. Totally a worthy Hulk movie. I hope Ang Lee watches this and cries in shame.

The movie captures the whole feeling really well and Norton as Banner is ok. Roth and Hurt do their jobs well enough. Roth is downplayed a bit and Blonsky is not your typical Roth character. Hurt is actually a much better Thunderbolt than Sam Elliot as he showed the obsession Thaddeus has with Hulk. Elliot is much of a calm actor to deliver it.

Surprisingly, Tyler does a good job as Elizabeth Ross. I always hate the female leads in comic movies. I hated how MJ watson was played by Dunst, and I hated Katie Holmes's ...forgot her name. But Tyler does a much better job than Connelly, even though Connelly is much prettier.

Final Fight is actually much better than Iron Man's since I felt it longer and better made.

Now, spoilers

The movie begins with the credits being shown while the experiment that made the Hulk is seen through flashbacks. Then it goes 5 years later and resumes at Brazil where Banner works in a bottling company while he chats about a cure with somebody named Mr. Blue, while Banner is Mr. Green.

Some blood gets spilled on one of the soda bottles which an old man drinks (cameo by Stan Lee) so thunderbolt finds out about Banner and assembles an elite unit to hunt it down which includes Blonsky. They get to Banner and a chase ensues which could have been a nice free running sequence but wasnt, but then again we are dealing with Banner. Banner encounters some ruffians who work at the plant and previously had their intentions on this ridiculously pretty coworker trumped by banner. The ruffians corner banner who still being chased by the military unit. He goes mad, and unleashes hell and leaves Blonsky intrigued and eager to fight it again.

Banner works his way from Guatemala were he wakes up a day after, up to virginia where he finds Betty Ross. Thunderbolt Attacks Banner while he is about to leave on a train to find Mr. Blue (Betty had some data on a flash memory with the experiment info which can help Blue as he has found some sort of antidote).

This is were the movie shines. I finally got what I wanted in Hulk from 2003. Thunderbolt unleashes all he can give to stop Hulk. He pulls out guns, a souped up Blonsky, a .50 caliber mounted machine gun, sonic cannons and a helicopter. This is also where i found a fault. See, whenever the Hulk got though a line of defense, say the .50 caliber, Thunderbolt would yell at his walkie for the next attack. This felt unnatural. Now it is possible since you can have all the attacks on reserve to go into action when the previous one fails. But Hurt here just shouts "Where are the goddamn canons" or "Where are the helicopters" and you would think that the units werent just sitting there waiting until Thunderbolt would yell at them. They will be on standby but Thaddeus would have at least a strategy and wont yell the next attack.

Other than that, the scene delivered. I always have this thing about watching Hulk take damage and hits and be almost subdued, but then just find a way to wreak ##### up. This happens here. At one point he is hit by two supersonic canons. First he is down with them but then he shields with some metal pieces, hurls one of the pieces to one of the canons, rips it in half, then pounds on the other. Pure Hulk madness, loved it. Blonsky is hit against a tree in the end breaking every bone in his body. he recovers and gets injected again with gamma juice.

Anyway, Banner escapes with Betty and set off to find Mr. Blue. At this point I thought Mr. Blue was Doc Samson but through the army's hacking they find that Mr. Blue is Samuel Sterns played my Tim Blake Nelson.

Banner and Ross find Sterns and proceed to have an experiment to subdue Hulk. This succeeds and Banner is able to return to normal quickly after transformation. Here we are treated at how Sterns feels this should be explored and used to help humanity cure diseases.

Then Thunderbolt attacks and captures Banner. Blonsky is left with Sterns and makes him give him a dose of Banner Juice and eventually turns into the Abomination. Also here we see that during Abo's escape some juice falls into an open head wound Sterns gets and his upper head begins to mutate foretelling the birth of The Leader.

Abo is destroying everything in NYC and Banner decides he is he only one capable of stopping him so he goes, turns into the Hulk and the Final Fight begins.

The final fight is badass. They break everything and its just what you expected from a Hulk vs Abomination fight. Here is another good moment. They decided to include three Hulk trademarks. At one point Hulk gets hit really hard by Abo and actually gets dizzy. So he grabs a car, breaks it in two and makes brass knuckles from it and then attacks Abo, hard.

Later on, Abo crashes the chopper where Thunderbolt and Betty were at and an explosion happens due to gas leaks. When its explodes Hulk does his clap attack and extinguishes the flames.

Then finally, Abo is hurling this gigantic metal thing with a chain and Hulk goes and says "HULK....SMASH" and pounds on the ground (i think the original has him pound with his fists but who cares) with his feet and causes tremors and make Abo lose balance and get hit by the metal thing then Hulk goes apeshit and beats him almost choking him to death but Betty stops him, because she is a **** and because Hulk is not supposed to kill Abomination.

Then Hulk jumps and escapes. Movie ends with Robert Downey Jr. visiting Thunderbolt and saying something about assembling a team (the Avengers).

Spoilers End

Anyway, go see it, if its better than Iron Man would only be dictated by which super hero you prefer but then again it didnt had Hulkbusters so maybe Iron Mar beats at being more baddassly techy. Its much better than X-men 3, Spiderman 3 or any of the Fantastic Four, but then again those movies sucked. Also, no Rick Jones here, thank god. I hated that little #####.

Also they showed a new Dark Knight trailer which is the best one I have seen yet as it features more Joker. Maybe Ledger did pull it out.

Cant wait for Dark Knight.

i dont know why you wouldnt be, Norton is the better actor of the two.

They didn't show a new Dark Knight trailer with mine... though I did see one with another movie I saw recently, probably Happening. Either way, really, this movie didn't have very many people in the theaters, and actually, I had a hard time convincing any of my friends to see it because, apparently, "Hulk sucks." Clearly they didn't watch the TV series (to be honest, I really didn't read the comics, but tv series was fun for me as a kid). Actually, the use of the theme song from the movie made me immensely happy.

Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

dry.gif; Actually, I think I liked Iron Man more than this because I really don't like Liv Tyler. And with her being in the Strangers, I especially really don't like Liv Tyler.
Voyou San
IronMan is def. better
keitherboo
Most Comic/Cartoon Action films < Transformers < The Incredible Hulk < Iron Man

So you can see where Hulk fits in. Liv Tyler didn't bug me at all, and the movie really did deliver and I'm definitely no Hulk fanboy. I actually wasn't excited at all about this movie, my friends were just going to see it so I went with and was very glad I did.

Most possibly an Avengers movie in the making in the near future.

In anycase, well done movie, though everyone keeps saying Iron Man is better, but I haven't seen it yet. Though as Raz said, I hope Ang Lee watches this and hangs himself out of shame. The acting felt a bit subtle, but I guess that's the dissimilarities between Iron Man (to which I hear the acting is over the top) and Ze Hulk. Though the story felt rushed, and a lot of characters that I wanted to know better simply weren't given the time to do so. Still good movie.

I'll hold my hands up straight away and say that I'm not overly into these kinds of films anyway, I'm also incredibly critical of films because I was stupid and studied them far too much.

Anyway, I must admit, I'm surprised there are so many positive reviews for the Hulk, but I don't think it's without reason, as far as superhero films go, I rate this one quite highly.

I had so much trouble imagining Edward Norton playing the part well, but I have a lot of respect for the man, and I can say I was pleasantly surprised. There were times when he really made the character his own. He didn't wow me all the time but then again few do. Tim Roth felt like he was being held back, while whoever played the General really bowled me over. He played a part which could be so cliché and easily forgettable and really made it special. There was a lot of subtext to his character which he really managed to pull out while still playing a supporting role. It was a real treat to watch.

Non-action scenes were well made, though not fantastic... but then again it IS an action film. There were a lot less scenes in this film (Compared to other superhero genre films) that felt like the whole purpose of the scene was to give it an excuse to have the action in a certain location. Still there was this great feeling of Cat and Mouse which was played very well.

Now onto the meat of the film, the action scenes, and sadly this is what turns me off from the film, I just don't really care much for them in The Hulk. I don't care much to watch two CGI monsters fight, but that's just personal taste and not really a scratch on the film. However there was on action scene that I loved, a lot. I would rate it one of the best action scenes I have seen in a long time and that was Normal Tim Roth versus the hulk. It was fast paced, exciting really interesting and should have gone on for longer.

Anyway, it was a well made film, and fun to watch but overall I wouldn't buy it or probably willingly watch it again. It was a treat to watch certain actors, but at the same time those actors were often held back by the script. I would recommend it to fans for superhero films, or fans of the hulk or people who love mindless action films. It was a well made film, but nothing special by any means, just special by the superhero genre. If I could only use one word to describe the film, I would say "Solid".
