Here we go, a brand new signature and avatar combo.

What do you lot think? It has been quite a while since I last used photoshop, so be gentle

Actually, I think it's pretty good. The avatar looks fine to me, so I won't say anything on it. For the sig though, it looks like you really cranked the contrast up, because the red/yellow looks really...fragmented, I guess is the word for it. If that even makes sense. It doesn't really hold the depth of its color anymore. For instance, if you look at the right half of the sig, you have the black + red + yellow. It's the same as what you did on the left, but the colors go together better since the black helps add more to it.
I dunno if that makes sense, so tell me if I'm speaking gibberish again. >.o. The background is fine, but I think you should add some more black (if possible) to the other side, otherwise it almost has this pixel-ish look to it.
As for the stock, I would try blending it in more. It looks like you tried with the blur and the smudge, but the way you have it on there makes it sort of stand out awkwardly (doesn't seem like it's with the background, but just placed on top trying to be part of the background, if you see what I'm saying). Maybe try changing the opacity of it a little bit to make it blend in more?
The text is good though, in my opinion. Wouldn't change anything about it.
The sig doesn't look too bad though. It just has flow issues (to my eyes). Overall, I like it. Good work. =).

def. give a go at blending in the stock image more with the background. Right now it looks really cut out and pasted instead of a part of the sig.

I get what you mean.

Thanks. Never notice the blend and smudge area bit until I put up here, but I know what you mean. I'll have to do this tomorrow though, but it shall be done.

you might also try a border, i think its fine without one but you could always try to throw one together./

Do you mean giving it a stroke or an inside border?

Stroke would work, same with using inner shadow and messing with both of those, but if you use Photoshop there's an option for a border. You can:
1.) Use the marquee tool to outline your sig
2.) Go to the Select menu
3.) Go to Modify
4.) Select Border
5.) Choose border dimensions
6.) Fill in the border marquee however you want.
Since you have the black bar separating your text, you could actually do the above steps two times. But, this might include getting rid of the bar itself. You can use the marquee tool to outline from the top/bottom left corner to the left corner of the black bar and create a border. Then, you can drag from the top left corner from the black bar's right corner to the right side of your piece and create a border that way.
I actually have no idea how that would look, but you could get rid of the black bar and instead have a border that will help it look more...in-depth, I guess.
If that helps?

I restarted the whole thing. Here you go. Comments?

I think the new one looks better. And the first one had a bit too strong colors, it hurts the eyes.

The stripes make the text hard to see, try shifting the texts to the top layer. The text on the lower bottom, the 2nd line is out of place lol try shifting it up a little.
If you are afraid of badly cut stocks. Try using an exactly same layer and use motion blur of 3-5. Then shift it onto the bottom layer and lower the opacity of the original to fit in. Instead of using an overlay then erase one of the blended layers for the face to stand out. I'll make things look really odd. Thus you can see that naruto's body is blended with the background but the face suddenly stands out. Motion Blur sometimes works better then blur and smudge. Give it a try though =)
Hope what I said is understandable

First of all, the second one looks miles better, however, to me it just looks like a floating head x'D.
I agree with Koala on the text though. Hard to read with the lines, maybe shift the text layer up.

Thanks and noted. I never notice things like this when it is on Photoshop. I'll get on it.

Heres the third try, lol. Any better?
Dragon Brigade

The third one is the best I think, but the head really does look awkward still, thinking about it (and from what the others said). Maybe you could move it to the right just a little and have his chin touch the bottom of the sig (assuming his hair would still reach the top), or at least close to it. It looks a lot better as it is, but as others have said, it still looks too much like a random floating head from the rest of the sig...
The background and text are really good though, I think. One thing I'd say about the text is that maybe have the very bottom line be centered more with the rest of the text. It seems a little too far off to the right.
Looks good though, in my opinion. =)

Good to know I am close. It has been a long time since I last used Photoshop but least I did not lose all my crappy skills, lol. I get on it tomorrow.
Perhaps bring part of his clothes under his chin back so it looks like he does have a body?

Yeah, definitely show that he has a body, as he still seems to be a floating head in the middle of your signature.
Maybe this could be nice as well, it is just an idea, but to give your borders a bit more style, merge your layers, pick the rounded rectangle tool, drag over the field piece, press ctrl+i and press delete. You now have a signature with round corners, it might look better, it might not, but at least it shows a bit of style. You could even give the edge a stroke, by doing the same steps above, but instead of pressing ctrl+i, right click the border and add a troke, it is a simple way of making a stroke, but it is a border.

Thanks. Yeah, the black forum style nullifies the black border I have around it. I will have a go at different border styles as well tomorrow. I also have a great idea for another project too, but that will wait until I am done with this one.

Shift the lower text a little to the right though. Its touching the sides. Nice work btw. Looks alot better.
