Surprisingly there didn't seem to be a thread for this yet so I thought I'd start one since the original had it's fans and that there's a new trailer and plenty of gameplay footage.
Fable 2 'Fortune Teller' trailerSpring Showcase 08More vids and interviewsIf it gives you the freedom that was originally promised for the first then I'll give it a crack so long as it's a longer game this time round too.

If they can make it more open then the first Fable it should be fun. I actually liked the original Fable, but it never felt like you had complete freedom.

I enjoyed Fable despite how short the game was. I had a great time playing through and did it multiple times both being good and evil and had a different experience both times. Leveling up all the magic and maxing stats was fun but way too easy. (Just stay in the graveyard and they keep coming)
I always wanted to try Lost Chapters to see what the differences were and go through that, but I never got a copy. I should probably play through that before I even look into Fable 2.

The first Fable was great, although it didn't had that much of a freedom like the producers promised. This one looks promising too, if only they put multiple endings. I didn't search much so can anyone know if you can select gender in the beginning?

I can't wait for Fable 2!! I got the first one just recently, since I only got my 360 within the past few months, but it was so much fun. ; ; I love how open the world is, and the decisions you were able to make. I do think my only complaint was that it was too short, but the dating system and the way your looks effect things made it really fun.
And sweet jesus you can now be a woman. I hope her design isn't butch.

Thanks dude, I'm really lame at looking, reading interviews or any kind of information sometimes so it's faster if you guys know and answer to me.
That made me wander, if you get kids, will you assume the role of your children when the main hero gets old and goes for a long rest? Probably not, but it would be cool.
Dog is man's best friend. I'm also curious will that be the case when your little friend finds his/her soulmate and have lot's of puppies =)

Now that you mention it, kids were actually going to be very important to the game. When they were working on the new "death system", the idea was that when you died, you would take the role of one of your kids and continue with the game. Which is kind of cool, but the game testers were apparently "harvesting" children so that they could have as many lives as they want without completely failing the game. After that, the new idea was that you pass out and your enemies continue to beat you and you have humiliating permanent scars on your body. Game testers turned off their consoles, rather than have that happen to their character. The final "death system" is now a bust of energy which is acquired by taking away some experience points from your character, knocking all near by enemies down, allowing you to leave the area, heal, or give you time to do whatever.
I don't remember exactly where I read all of that. I was looking up information on the game one day. Not only will the whole world be interactive, but apparently some of the cut scenes will be as well? The example I was reading, was that if an NPC is telling a sad story in the cut scene, you can actually make your character laugh at them? Interesting idea.
I cant wait... one of my personal most anticipated games for a while now. Too Human is up on the list as well, though.

Here’s a trailer from E3 on xBox 360 Fanboy:
http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/07/14/e3...able-2-trailer/QUOTE
Finally confirming our long standing suspicion of online co-op, Fable 2 was a major focus for Microsoft during its E3 2008 press conference. The trailer shown, now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, showcases the storyline that weaves throughout the game. A tale of vengeance where you can choose to seek revenge for the wrongs done to you or rise above and help those in need. Fable 2 is set to hit stores this October.

I think it'll deliver. We're in a different era of video games now, there's no doubt that they'll be able to create something to live up to expectations. Now that they got their Research and Development and feedback done thru Fable 1, they'll be able to kind of add their own twist again to Fable 2.

another small bit of info, for those that didnt see the E3 press conference, the game is set 500 years later. The Legendary weapons are still present just renamed and re-worked. the combat control got a re-work too, but its said that players of the first one should still recognize it. Also those of you that want to play the lost chapters, my suggestion if you dont want to buy it, and you have *flexible morals* find it on a torrent site as an iso and play it that way.

We never usually do on the 360 but that cycle was of course broken by Atlus (Spectral force 3) who need to find European publishers and Namco who haven't really given any decent reason for the extra wait in Tales Of Vesperia.

Anyone try the Fable Pub Games? I got it free with a preorder of Fable 2. They're not really that great, and I cannot see why you'd spend the $10 on them. All of the games are pure chance (with the exception, MAYBE, of the craps-esque game), making it difficult to make any real amount of money for use in-game.

I have found myself to be very addicted to this game. I have no clue how far along I am, but to be honest, I hope Im not far because I dont really want the story to end faster than I expect it to. With all of the side quests, jobs, and other things there are to do, I have been distracted from the main story line several times now.
My character is currently badass. Not really. Ive been focusing on Strength a lot more than the others though for some reason I have the Will markings all over my characters body. Each one having a different affect on your appearance. Strength - your character becomes muscual. Skill - your character becomes taller. Will - you end up with glowing will markings all over your body?
I prefer using a sword and hacking at my enemies rather than using ranged attacks that never seem to work your way when the enemy rushes you in the first place. Though Will is fun, and badass looking, and does put those badass marking on your character, it just doesnt do it for me. My character is wearing the Archmage Robe, which I dyed black, and looks badass.
Potions are a bitch as shops usually only have 1 in stock and you have to return later to buy another one if you need it. Which brings up the subject of Gold. Making Gold, if you did not play the Pub Games, starts out very slow. There are Jobs now, such as Blacksmithing, Wood Cutting, and Bounty Hunting. Blacksmithing has been the most rewarding for me as I have made 80k doing that job and mastering it. You can buy buildings and rent them/live in them yourself, and you can also buy the shops to bring in income. You're able to tax your sales in your shops which means you make more money, but may also make the locals dislike you. At the moment, I own several little stands and one major building - The Inn (also known as The Pub). Even with 5 sales stands and the Inn, I only make a little over 1k gold every 5 minutes (while playing). I think its reduced to a 4th of that while im not playing.
The game is good so far and I have nothing to complain about other than the online co-op play. Though it is fun, and you do get to play with friends, you dont get to play as your character if you join someone else's world. You have to play as a henchman. The gold and experience you earn while playing as this henchman is transfered to whatever Hero you want it to, but I would still rather see my character and be able to show off what I have rather than playing as a henchman. Another problem I have is the fact that there is no control over the camera while playing cooperatively.
Other than the unsatisfying cooperative multiplayer, the game has been great. Maybe a little too great considering how addicted I am. My personal opinion - Fable II tops Oblivion for me...

My buddy bought this yesterday and I played through a few hours of co-op with him in the beginning and I wasn't all that impressed by the game. It felt somewhat underwhelming, and just a bit of a face lift on the original rather than anything truly defining. It feels like what it should be, a single player hack and slash RPG like many found on the PC.
I honestly got a bit bored, but my friend is in early parts of the game so that was probably why we didn't see a lot of action.
I think it may be my friends replacement TV too ( He's having his good one repaired ) but the graphics also didn't really seem all that great, either.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the love for this game either. It could also be that I'm still in the early stages of the game, but I've yet to be hooked. The camera took a while for me to get used to, and the movement controls are sluggish. And for some reason, every time I turn, my character does a wide arc in that direction, instead of simply just turning. It's annoying.
I did, however, play long enough to buy a house, and get up to a 4* rating in blacksmithing. I have enough money to buy a second house, and to rent it out. I just finished Dead Space, and that game sucked me in so much more than Fable 2 has done so far.
To be honest, it feels like Fable 1.5.
EDIT: I guess Lost Chapters was Fable 1.5. Making this Fable 1.75
