Translated by the same team that did Dragon Quest Monsters 3 <3

Great news, as far as I'm concerned. I like the art style of Xenosaga I&II DS, and the story also had some changes here and there. I'd definitely be interested in playing this in English. =) I know nothing of the battle system, though. But either way, this has caught my interest.

I’ve already got 1&2 for the PS2 (haven’t actually finished either), but I’m not opposed to getting them on the DS. I suppose it might be stupid of me to buy the same game twice (bar the slight changes), but I’m enough of a Xenosaga fan not to care either way. Maybe if I can find them cheap enough I’ll get them. *shrugs*. Oh well. =).

Good news for Xeno fans. That should be a hint to companies that people want these games released in the U.S. and other locations or they'll translated themselves and release it for download. Not an appealing idea for fans to wait a months to years for a game to be released in their location or if the game never released in their location.

Being an online translation, you'd be patching it onto a ROM instead of buying it =p

Ohh...Oh, I get it. I guess I misinterpreted the original statement quite a bit. >.<. Oh well, I seem to do that a lot. Good news still anyway, haha...=).

Yep

It's moments like this that make having a flashcart be that much more sweet. I'll be playing the game on DS in English, as I've been wanting to since I heard the first announcement of the Japanese release

Xenosaga DS has a really great battle system, it's similar to the first episode's but it has no ten hour long battle animations. At the moment I'm still stuck near the beginning of the second half of the game. So far there is little difficulty in it and I've managed to get through so far with little upgrading and menu management which I think I'm now starting to regret. I would prefer to just read a text file seeing as I have the game already and there are some moments I'd really like to be translated, I have a feeling some more of Allen's story is told, such as where he was the night that Kevin died (or was that Xenosaga III?) either way it's a great game, I enjoyed playing through it even without taking note of the cutscenes or knowing much japanese at all. I genuinely enjoy the battle system (Although random encounters is a thumbs down, but you can understand why).

Anyway I rate highly, maybe my favourite xenosaga game. Maybe my mind will change when I see what they've retconned.

Personally, I would not mind getting a flash cart for the DS to play the game on it. Perhaps this game will make the second episode in the series worth playing, just as long as they do a better job introducing and developing characters.

From what I hear that was the whole point of the game - a retcon for all the problems of Xenosaga 2. All it's changes are canon.
