So im 20 hours into Dot Hack Infection and i decided to check out some screenshots for Quarantine and IT LOOKS THE SAME!! it came out like two years after the original!? Does the series stay exactly the same from ep.1-4 ???? Thats sucks man if it does

Yeah they're all based on the same game engine it seems. Don't expect much of an upgrade in terms of graphics or gameplay between the versions. But there are some minor changes between the games.

If you're looking for new graphics and gameplay you shoudl check out .hack//G.U. It has three voolumes in it's series. All looking the same as eachother as well, but better than the original .hack series.

i gotta beat the first 4 first. i have the GU;s also, just havent played them yet.

-They are teeeechnically "different games," but more accurately, no, they are VOLUMESof the SAME game.
-#4 was released 11 months after #1, not 2 years.
-Being volumes of the same game, it was only logically to keep the same core engine and specs. This makes transferring your save data easier also.

well the 11 months explains it, but i youd think they would at least give you some level variety! that was my main gripe!

and they made me so scared to data drain at first cuz all the warnings in the manual and game that i didnt even know it was a part of regular gameplay till i had to hunt down 5 different virus cores to advance


i hope all 4 chapters dont have this virus core stuff

I think you can shut off the animation for the data drain in Options to make it go faster.

Wait till you get to the epilouge of Vol. 4 (Quarantine) THEN you'll be afraid to Data Drain.

And to Virus Cores... Sorry, but you better get used to hunting. BUT Vol. 4 IS short. Well, much shorter than the first three, so less hunting

Ya, I noticed that vol. 4 was VERY short.... more like dissappointingly short. It was a great way to tie up everything though.... always did wondered what happened to Meryl.... (can't remember the name... but it was the girl who was having a baby IRL during Vol. 3 or something...)
