I've not had a problem with the latest firmware but apparently shitloads of people are. I'm not surprised though, and it's not like a certain other console developer hasn't had the same issue. That being said, they better handle this quickly.

Rumors,
Firmware Updates CVG has contacted Sony Customer Support to find out exactly what is going on with 2.40. It's all been very quiet since the firmware got
pulled off the servers, but apparently a fixed version will be available "midweek." Sony has yet to officially confirm that this is the case but, if true, they should do so within the next day or two. Hopefully 2.41 will fix any of the issues that were present in 2.40. We've had absolutely no problems so far, what about you? Let us know in our latest
Poll Police post.

Well this would be nice, considering 2.4 was down before I had a chance to download it.

Yeah. Replace my " shitloads " comment , with a "few". It doesn't seem to be affecting the majority of console owners from what I've been reading but it's definitely enough to cause them to draw it back and put out a new patch.
I don't really care. It was a pretty beefy patch and even though they've been working on it, sometimes bugs like this can't be found out until released to the public.

I didn't manage to get the update before it got taken down again. (Which is actually good, because my update takes an hour or so to download and install

; )
I do have the weird problem of my friend list disappearing quite some time ago. Due to DMC4, I learned that I cannot add friends (friends can add me) and short after, my entire friend list vanished. -.-; Seriously weird.

I just finished installing Firmware Update 2.41 and there isn't anything wrong with my PS3.

The 4.00 update for Super Stardust HD is up too. I got a few trophies already if you check my profile. The only problem I have with the "Trophy" system is that when you get a new trophy it won't show up in your profile immediately, but it does show up in your Trophy Collection. You have to exit the game and then go to Trophy Collection so that it synchronizes with your profile. You'll know what I mean when you get some trophies yourself.

Yeah, I was in the middle of getting 4.00 for stardust, but then it started storming so I had to shut down everything, so I'll probably get to all that tomorrow. I just kinda wish there were more games with trophies at this point (mainly MGS4).
I'll go download the update.
I decide to play it on the safe side and did not download the update when it was first released. Just to be careful.

Finally downloaded the update. Is it me, or are they taking a page from Microsofts book? You can shut the system off with the controller now. You can bring up the menu with the button just like on the 360 and let's not forget the trophies. Hmmm....

No, it's not just you.

you could always shut the system down with the controller.
