Quite frankly I'd never heard of Broken Sword before, but apparently it was a popular game. Is this of interest to anybody?

QUOTE
Evidence of a Broken Sword game for the DS is mounting. First, there was a petition posted by Revolution Software designer Tony Warriner to register player interest (which, predictably enough, was sky high). Then, a Broken Sword game cropped up in the database of the rarely wrong GameStop. And now, Revolution Managing Director Charles Cecil has dropped some heavy-handed hints about such a title.

Speaking to Videogamer.com, Cecil admitted that the petition was "really inspirational," and that the DS was "an ideal platform" for the point and click genre. His final comment on the matter was far more suggestive, however: "I just wish that we were having this interview in about a month's time," he told VideoGamer.com's Wesley Yin-Poole. "Then you'd be asking me much more direct questions!" Hmm.

Even though Broken Sword for the DS remains a rumor, we're struggling to think of other ways in which Revolution can hint at the game without, you know, announcing it. Petition posted by developer? Check. Appearance of Broken Sword in GameStop records? Check. And now Cecil's comments? Frankly, you don't have to be a heavily pixellated, world-saving law graduate called George to figure out where this might be going.

I regret not ever getting into the Broken Sword series, I played a little of one and I think it's the kind of game I'd enjoy. I love games like Monkey Island and Day Of The Tentacle and intelligent and witty point and click adventure games seemed to have died out. The DS would be perfect for it, I could see it being a good business move and it's been so heavily hinted.

I just hope it's not A. a remake of the first game (A bonus for me because I haven't played it, but a loss for the majority) or B. a story that requires you to have played the other games.

As long as there is enough attention and thought gone into this, it could really work.

I love the Broken Sword series and its one of my favorite so I would gladly buy a DS just to get that game, as long as its not a remake of the others since I already have them. I would hope this game sees the return of Nico to the series as she was cool.

Flame you should try and get the games, they are still easy to find in Game or Gamestation since they were for PC originally and I've even seen some of the first game for PS1 around here recently. Or as you said Amazon.co.uk is your friend biggrin.gif

I've only ever played the first BS, kinda saving the rest for when i'm in dire straits and have no other good games to play. Anyone do that with games/books or whatever? The first was phenomenal, and BS on the DS would be excellent. Bring it on ^^
