The first episode of Naruto Shippuden was very impressive. The opening 10 minutes are made of gorgeous movie quality animation.

I love the way it starts off with how they meet Sasuke and then winds back to how it all lead up to that point. It's been done in some movies before. But along with the animation quality I'll go as far as saying that this was the best, or best looking anime opening I've seen.
Even the rest of the episode had really good animation quality as well.

And the music is just... all new and wow. Some of it sound like it could have been taken from Gladiator or some other epic film. I don't recognise the music any more, it's different but it works very well.
An all new soundtrack, new animation, new story direction. Everything is new, and the fact that they started re numbering the series from 01 again shows how they see it more than anything. It's like the fillers never happened. They really stepped it up and went all out on this episode.
This really look and feels like a new Naruto series. So with that I thought we'd start over in a new topic as well. I don't want to lose the other one though. There were some good posts in that one, so I'll just retire it for now and perhapsmerge it at a later point.
Also, I will update this openinbg post of mine later with pictures and stuff.
I hope everyone is enjoying Naruto Shippuden as much as I am. I'm actually looking forward to Naruto now. Very much so.
I'm very impressed how it went from total garbage to being even more interesting than when I first started watching the series.

It feels like a completely different series, and I must say its off to a good start. Reminding me what I loved about Naruto when I first watched it, lol.

The beginning felt like a film, and the episode, even though they altered the sequence of events from the manga, felt absolutely perfect, and the music set such a perfect mood for the entire thing.
Two thumbs up!

In staying up later than I should, I watched the first installment of the new series.
A lot of it is just as we expected it might be: since the show is back after so long, there's a bit of "Oh, you've changed *insert something wacky* but OH you're still the same! Har har har!" But not overly much of it.
My impressions so far, based on this 46-minute rebaptism:
Hokiness/cheesiness: It's there, that's for sure, ut not as present as one may have worried beforehand. Hopefully it stays to a minimum.
Story: Getting back on track at a reasonable pace. I don't mind them taking time to re-introduce things, don't mind the handful of flashbacks that occurr, and I think it's warming up for some pretty cool stuff.
Animation: Same as it was before, but iof course the characters look different and all that. It looks pretty good. And the opening few minutes are done with smoe excellent, movie-quality material like the Sakura pic that Athrun posted.
Music: Awesome.
Overall: I like it better than when I first started watching the show. It's not perfect. I'm not going to sit here and be like "It's back and it's the best evar!!1," because I'd be lying. But it is interesting, and from the looks of this re-introduction, it's been improved.
Now I want more.

I was so happy that kubuto was in the opening. even if you can barely see him.
Everything about this new series is enjoyable. However I can relate to athrun and say that the music is so different. I hope they through a few classic style tracks in there, but the new music is similerly amaizing. oh and at the pace thier going. they will catch up tot he manga really quickly.

I'm crazy excited to start Shippuuden up, but I've got the RAW sitting on my computer just waiting to be watched. 8DD
So far, from the opening, it looks amazing compared to before. The animation has definitely been kicked up a notch and, going with what Hiku said, reminds me more of watching a movie rather than the first episode.
My interest in Naruto has completely sparked back with this. It's totally awesome.

LOLS, they finally stopped playing fillers and ACTUALLY moving on with the storyline.
I'd have to say I would want to start watching it again. :D But the odds are, that I'll lose interest in anime again and get back into the manga jajajaja. (Which, I need to update myself with.)

Goodbye, fillers.
Lol, just kidding. In fact, after seeing that hour-long special, I realize now, more than ever, how much the developers didn't take the fillers seriously compared to the rest of the series. That intro with Sasuke was awesome...simply awesome. I'm glad they kept all the original voices. It would've been weird hearing Naruto with a different voice actor, especially since he's not
that much older with the time skip as it is. But how did Sasuke see the Nine-Tailed Fox spirit so easily? And what did he do to it? And who's Uchiha Madara? x_x
It seems like they really put a lot more detail into what was going on in the first two episodes compared to the manga. I don't remember seeing Konohamaru and his group do the Cat Mission in the manga. So it looks like we'll be getting a better look in to what's going on now that it's in anime form (Want to see Kakashi Gaiden so badly now).
I still can't believe that Gaara became Kazekage so quickly, and that Temari, Kankurou, and Neji are all Jounins now. It still boggles me how the characters are advancing so far in such a short time. And based on the intro, Sasuke's probably as powerful as one of the Sannin, now. =p Personally, I would have liked to see a more gradual progression of some of the characters skillz, rather than see them achieve God-like status in the blink of an eye. =p
Still, can't wait to see Naruto and Sakura fight Kakashi next episode. Maybe we'll see a more prolonged fight now that it's in anime form.

Lols, I had the same reaction too when I was reading the manga. My face literally went like
wtfs when I heard Gaara became Kazekage. I guess it's suitable, he has all his emotions and obvious issues sorted out.

It wasn't in the manga. It seems they're doing the same thing as bleach by stick small fillers into the anime to stretch it.

It was pretty good, seeing how the characters changed and how they were animated alot smoother. Some of the voices didn't change much such as Sasuke's which kinda bothered me a little bit at the same it didn't though. I still need to watch all of the fillers and junk (even though I have read and udner stoo the plot line by now) But there are chances were like Appel I will just get bored of watching the anime it's self and shift back over the the manga which is more to the point than filled with fillers. (even though the fillers are amusing some times and it shows the character growth)
One thing that makes me happy is that Deidara , Sasori and the akatsuki are comming in to play already beocmming a more promient role.

Question to all of you naruto lovers out there.Who is your most favorite character in the whole wide world of Naruto.
Mine would be three of them actually. Naruto Uzimaki, Sasuke Uchia, and last but not least Itachi Uchia.
Naruto: He is so cool,{ But that is partly the reason why. The other reason is that I am pretty close in acting just like him}
Sasuke: I do not know exactly why but I have always had a thing for the Mysterious types.
Itachi: He closely reminds me of the guy I like.

I have 3 favorites.
Number One would have to be Gaara. I'm closest to him as far as real life experiences (not to his horrible extent, but yeah), plus he's kickass.
Number Two would have to be Naruto, at least when he's in the "zone", a.k.a. not being an idiot.
And of course, Number Three is Shikamaru, because he's a ##### genius. But he's also a manwhore.

Shippuuden 03 was really good. They seem to take their time with the facial animations and animations in general a lot more now. Basically, I like the quality and I hope they stick with it.
The battle with Kakashi was epecially great. A lot of actual combat was done, which we for some odd reason almost never got to see in the previous series besidses a kick here or a punch there, unless Lee was involved. No lazy animations here. It looked really good, and I can't wait for next weeks episode.

I just saw it myself and I totally agree with Hiku on how it looks. I never noticed before, but I actually was able to tell that Kakashi has an eye colour. XD His visible eye always looked black before.

I friggin' LOVED episode 3!
Kakashi was pretty much at Naruto and Sakura's mercy in that training battle. The fact that they showed flashbacks to when they did the bell exercise 2 years ago really helped put in perspective how much Naruto and Sakura have improved over time. And the looks on Naruto and Kakashi's faces when Sakura used her super strength was so hilarious. xD
It's clear now that they plan on expanding on what was done in the manga by adding extra scenes to the battles and stuff. It makes me want to see Gai and his team's fight against Kisame even more now. Maybe we'll get to see Lee, Neji, and especially Tenten fight him now.

Meh.
Episode 3 was okay, but it was really just a "wow, look how much better Naruto and Sakura have gotten!" episode with about 3 minutes of actual plot progression thrown in. I'm still okay with this type of episode though, since the series is new--as long as they're not like this in back-to-back weeks.
The ending was setting up for an excellent *actual* fight next week though. I loved that, Gaara standing there being all like "Heya. I'm the kazemotherfuckinkage." Can't wait for the next one--this episode was passable, but not quite as satisfying as I expected.

There will be no Naruto Shippuden (whatever), this week. The reason is unknown to me, but the manga has been released, and I believe it is translated already at EndlessNaruto.
In other news, the first Naruto movie will be brought to America. So now we can enjoy quality animation combined with horrible voice casting! Huzzah for commercialism!
On a sadder note, Masashi Kishimoto reported that he will be doing filler arcs for Naruto Shippuden!
Just kidding
