at trying to get all the japanese Ps2 RPGs on the market before they discontinue selling ps2 games?

I think this has been the best Generation point blank for all American j-RPG gamers, the ps2 has a bunch of RPGs that have been translated with voice acting even some of the small time releases have voice acting and things that complete the experience. Jap gamers have been enjoying RPGs with voice overs since the early 90s! So its finally getting fairer.

I already own all the Gamecube and Xbox traditional RPGs and some that arent so traditional (Lost Kingdoms I & II) and dont even own an Xbox. Ps2 has the largest collection but with over a hundred store in my city i can track down at least 90% of them locally. The boxed limited collection games i'll have to buy offline though unless i get lucky. I've gotten Lucky so far with Star Ocean original box and DQ8 for dirt cheap

Why would collecting something make you crazy? As for when the PS2 is discontinued, the games will still be around and sold for a long while after.

Tch! It's not gonna get discontinued until probably within the next two years, or maybe even more. As long as Japanese RPG games still go into Sony's RPG machine. In anycase, it's not a form of insanity.

There are a lot of good rpg's that are never translated to English. Most of the time I'd be happy if they only translated the text and not the audio, but they usually don't even do that much. Because they don't think the games will seell well in the US or EU or because it would be more profitable for them to use those resources on a new game rather than an old.

Some Japanese games for PS2 I'd like to see released outside of Japan, but probably will never happen: Spectral Soul series (there are only 2 or 3 that have been translated out of many), Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Rebirth, Final Fantasy X-2: International.
The Evil Dead
Good luck with that.

Yes, Yes you are.

However, your objective sounds pretty normal and what most RPG gamers strive to do. They may not openly admit it, but most gamers want to play as many games as they want too. Of course, some people will only play good games and depending on their definition of "good", they could play anywhere between 1 and how many games have been created.

But, best of luck.

I can honestly say that the PS2 has the best overall selection of RPGs. And I haven't even played through all the really good ones yet. PS1 definitely had it's share of amazing games, but in terms of the most to actually enjoy, the PS2 was the definitive console for RPG fans.

With that said, I seriously doubt the PS3 will measure up--not with most of the good RPGs (so far) being for Xbox360. Even Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia are going to the 360. And it sucks. =p
Mushroom
Why would that be a crazy notion on a primarily rpg games message board?..................am I missing something here?
The Evil Dead
Because he wants to get all PS2 non translated Japanese RPG's.

Yeah like the 4 RPG's. Intense.

PS3 will come into it's own with RPG's just as the past two generations of consoles did. They're not going to abandon one of the more popular selling genres.

Well then no XD I'd have to say he's probably not crazy, just an rpg fan, there's a fair amount of people here that import, can't be that difficult a task. play-asia has alot of those games.
