What're some of your favourite non-english speaking movies? (I guess foreign is a nice generalized word for it....) It could include animated and live action ones too. <:D Just throw out ones you really like and why.
Dragon Brigade
Um...I think the only movie I've seen that isn't in English would be Passion of the Christ, but I don't know that I'd really call it a foreign film. Maybe Evita? I dunno. Haven't really seen all that many to be honest, so I can't really say a favorite, just ones that I've seen. xD.
Athrun
Hmm, well there was one movie I saw that was Russian or Yugoslavian (can't remember) about a kid named Zoran, (he was fat and apathetic. Reminds me of the kid from 2 and a half men) who's class won a contest, which was a trip to Germany to meet Adolph Hitler. He had a strange habit of eating the white stuff in the walls behind the wallpaper. Whenever his parents weren't looking, he'd get a spoon from the kitchen and open a patch in the wallpaper and dig some out and eat it. Then he'd cover up the patch so that no one would notice. I thought that movie was pretty funny.
Pesmerga
Pan's Labyrinth
[REC]

Hands down!

Still interested in the Orphanage.
Phisix
That's easy, there is only one: Battle Royale!
Pesmerga
Oh, totally forgot about my fav Asian movies:

Ju-On
Battle Royale
The Warrior King
City Hunter
Phisix
You cannot beat a bit of Battle Royale. The second is quite good too, but not as good the first. I still want to see Versus. Has anyone seen that?
Apple
I actually thought the Battle Royale movie was awful. D: I'm a huge fan of the book, so seeing the way the movie dumbed down the violence was....bleh. Especially the way the antagonist dies. <<;;;;

By far my favourite foreign movie would be Amelie. *____* Nothing beats it in my books. Beautiful french dialogue, original adorable plot, the love storyline is a little absurd, but far from cheesy, and the visuals are stunning. So many rich warm colors!

Others that come close would be Paprika, Il Postino, and Pan's Labyrinth.
Grahf
I loved Oldboy. City of God is another one of my favorites.

Any Ghibli movie, really... but especially

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Sweden/remade to US:

The Invisible

Can't think of anymore at the moment.

OLDBOY

omg I never actually got to watch it, but my friends were watching it in another room and I heard so many disturbing comments about it. Oh, and the really obnoxious sex scene was interesting to hear from the other room as well. P:
Kronik
Run Lola Run.
Suicide Circle.
Audition.
District B13. <3
A Clockwork Orange. <33
Akira.

I'll think of more later. D:
Andrico
City of God, dude... City of God.

Some other ones I liked were

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
All About Lily Chou-Chou
Gozu

... Gozu... That movie was possibly one of the most epic movies I've ever seen. By the same director as Audition, by the way.

Top of the List would be Battle Royale without a doubt. I agree with Apple about the book being better but that's usually the case and I think it was quite a good transition. Old Boy was something quite special but I've only watched it once. City of God was a film I watched reluctantly but quickly discovered that it really is an amazing film, I cannot recommend this film enough.

Io non ho paura (An italian film more commenly known as I'm not Scared) I just randomly watched on TV one night only to discover it was anything but a time filler late night movie. It's about a boy who finds another boy down a well. It sounds like a terrible horror film and although there isn't an awful lot to this movie it was great to see the main character develop and the lives of the villagers in some dilapidated town. The Cinematography is really a treat. Anyone else watched it?

Audition Also has to get a mention, I like what the director tried to achieve by switching genres. Apparently he tried to almost bore the Viewer with a romance plot just so the ending is more shocking. If you can sit through the film then you are certainly treated.

Pan's Labyrinth deserves and honerable mention, although I get the feeling that at points it tries too hard. And I also really have to mention Happiness of the Katakuris because that film is really funny and entertaining.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some out.
Hyoushitsu
I have to agree with the majority here in that Park Chan-Wook's Vengeance Trilogy and City of God. Amazing films, all around.

I'm gonna add Amelie to that, as that movie was just genious. An incredible screenplay and beautiful performances by pretty much everyone involved. Great film.
Sigs Minock
Legend of Drunken Master (Jackie Chan ftw!)
The Protector (Tony Jaa- )
Kung Fu Hustle (Stephen Chow- the next Jackie Chan?)
The Evil Dead
Ichi The Killer
Infection
Ong Bak
The Streetfighter movies ( Sonny Chiba )
Lone Wolf And Cub series
Zatoichi series
A bazillion chop sockey movies I can't think of the titles of.

I think that's it.

Brotherhood Of The Wolf Marc Dacascos = awesome
City Of God
Tell No One
Antibodies disturbing as hell but very good
The Scorpion Great MMA movie
Pans Labyrinth
Night Watch Not quite as good as it could have been but still enjoyable

There's definitely more but my mind's gone blank.
Flame
I've seen Amelie, and I enjoyed the style but not really the plot. It was interesting watching it once purely for it's cinematography but aside from that I didn't really like it much.

Oh yeah, and Drunken Master is one of my favourite Jackie Chan films...

You can always find a blind man and describe the road for him Lol. Or help an old man find back his childhood, cut up a widow's letter from her late husband and make a fake letter to keep her happy Lol. Her revenge plot on making a man misses football goals if funny though. But yeah... xD Lawl on the guessing the amount of people having an orgasm currently xD "15" lol
