I known a couple of people on the forum have begun watching Soul Eater. So, I'll get a discussion topic up and running for the anime.

I've currently only watched 11 episodes and sticking with Rumble fan-subs for the series due not be able to play Tadashi fan-subs files on my PS3. I deal with audio lag, even though the video quality of Tadashi is much better. So far, the series has been entertaining and the animation been top notch. While the story been going back and forth between Maka and Soul Eater to the other characters. The comedy in the anime can be funny while the action been great.

Excalibur is awesome. Interupting everyone trying to talk to him and saying "BAKA!" in a oddly funny way. You have the love the face people make when they mention Excalibur, too.

I have high expectation for this series moving along.

So, who else been watching this anime?

I don't watch the anime, but I just recently started reading the manga.

I absolutey loveeee Tsubaki. And her relationship with Black Star is also very fun to watch together. I really don't like Maka and Soul. :\ Maka can be entertaining with her continual "chops" and how she's like with her dad, but Maka and Soul together just bug me. They're always fighting and to be honest I don't like what a weak-spirited person she could be.

AND OMG, KID AND HIS GUNS. HE IS SO AWESOME THE WAY HE HOLDS THEM. O__O

You get audio lag with Rumbel? I'm sticking with Rumbel since they're the only group I know that are doing the late-night version of the series, I watch the eps later than everyone else, but the gags on the late-night version make up for it ;P.

I love this series so far, all the characters are likeable and the comedy is done awesomely well. Kid-kun being my favourite is hilarious, I still can't get over the toilet paper scene XD. I also love Dr. Stein and his obession over dissesting things xD. Of course, Maka, Soul and the rest of the cast are just as enjoyable as well. (Black Star's only funny when he's with Soul most of the time well, for me at least =/)

Lol! yeh, the look on Kid and Black Star faces at the end were priceless...

I also like how they're touching up on everyone's story's although, it may seem like there's no main plot - they do reference certain things that'll crop back up in the future eps, like Soul being "cursed" and the witch pretending to be a nurse in the school.

I'm glad that there's 50+ eps for this series since it seems they need it to cover alot of the character's background and to get the audience drawn into the characters as well.

How far does the anime even go anyways? :x Right now in the manga I caught up to the point where Ox just rescued Kim and saved her morals from the distortion. I'm really liking Soul Eater's use of the more minor characters and giving them a relatively detailed background. especially since the minor characters have different powers and weapons than the main characters. Black Star's whole side story with his trip to Tsubaki's parents house was weird. :\ I didn't understand how he suddenly got this revelation from meeting with the demon sword's spirit.

If only the chapters wouldn't be released so slowly.... T___T

on myanimelist.net it shows that soul eater is 51 episodes long, so i dont know if thats correct or not, most of the stuff on their site is.

and i will tell you one thing, Kid is flat out funny as hell with his whole symmetry thing

Oops, seems I missed this thread.

I picked up the series not too long ago, plowing through the first twenty-or-so episodes, and have kept up to date since then. The show hasn't quite amazed me yet, but I definitely do like it. So far, I really like the Black Star and Tsubaki team. I can't really explain what I like about them more than the others, but something about them just works for me, I guess. Besides, the ninja fighting style and flexibility of Tsubaki as a weapon is great, not to mention Black Star's soul wavelength attack. (I forget the name of it.) Oh, and gotta love Stein. biggrin.gif I haven't found anything to not like about him, and his involvement in the development of the story at the moment is really interesting.

Excalibur is definitely hilarious, haha. In a recent episode, I remember Stein was digging through some books, one of which said something like "Tea Time With Excalibur," or whatever it was. XD

Also picked up on the similarity of Soul's voice (Kōki Uchiyama) to that of Ichigo (Masakazu Morita), heh. Had me tricked for a moment.

Oh, right, and Death the Kid...

My favorite (humor) scene so far, definitely. XD I just had to make an avatar for it.

Stein is def. great fun, i agree there is really nothing to dislike about him and I also dig Black Star the best, Death the Kid's part in the story has gone down a bit so I have missed his humor and his obssession with symmetry. One of the best episodes had to have been the one with the ship. Spoiler below possibly... highlight the darkness!!!
Where he had them ram the little boat into the bigger one again so that his face would hit symmetrically even in the middle of the boat!!
