Lolington sent me the link, decided to give it a go.
Name is Okazaki Tomoya. People who know me call me other names, and a privileged few (20 or so) know my true name. Contrary to Lolington's hatred for long introductions, I tend to write ranting ones when I feel like it. And so far, the battery on the Snake Eye is currently recharging (Yes, I'm playing Metal Gear Solid 4) I guess I'll write one while waiting and hearing those pesky Irvings walk around in impunity, not knowing their patrol duties merely make them predictable for when I can throw a chaff grenade to fool those smaller three handed sentries, and give me enough time to get off a fully charged Rail Gun shot.
A long sentence ain't it?
Let's see. For one, my writing style. It's all over the place. From the 'Trim and Proper' selections of Imperial/British English (a curse I attribute to my friend, who tends to write in such manner) to the stereotypical southern drawl of the United States, to me using Tagalog words and phrases, as well as a few German and Japanese along the way.
I'm a naturalized United States citizen, born in the Philippines, raised there, in Saipan (to all you geographically inept, it's part of the island chain that makes up the Northern Marianas Islands, a commonwealth in political union with the good ol' USA) and eventually moved to Northern Virginia a few years ago. I'm quite enjoying the United States, and its universities, anti-war protesters or not. A University Sophomore this coming Fall Semester, my major is Government and International Politics with a concentration on East Asia, along with an East Asian Studies minor. (Note to all: Japanese is a pain in the ass to learn.)
As you may have already figured out, I am a Filipino, a native of the Philippines. And from what you can tell from my username, an anime otaku. What you can also imply from my signature and avatar, I'm a fan of military stuff, making me into a Military Otaku. My anime tastes border from the modern, mainstream shows (Macross Frontier, Code Geass, etc...) to older classics and oddities (Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Strike Witches, Gundam 08th MS Team etc...).
In terms of roleplaying. I've been on forum roleplaying for about 4 or so years. I started out...badly. Within a month of getting my first few characters killed (Most spectacular of one of em, was to try to kill an Epyon-type pattern Mobile Suit with a Springfield Armoury M14), a few roleplaying veterans (those with memory of old BBS rps in the early days of the internet and 1st Edition DnD gamers) decided to help me along the way. My writing style leans heavily on Tom Clancy's 'techno-thriller' style where I explain in detail what I am doing or a piece of equipment my character is operating. Though I end up putting one sentence responses if I'm lazy, and it often happens.
Anyways, that's all from me. I'd like to get past this section of Shadow Moses, and resisting the urge to go Rambo on the Irvings. Besides, I've been playing this game in a fashion similar to a US Army Ranger than the traditional Snake sneak and stealth. Something I had foreseen when I found out there will be a hefty weapons list in this game. XD
And I'm messing around with a font and font size until I find one that I love.
