Dragon Brigade
QUOTE
In case you missed it during our Live Blog of the Electronic Arts press conference, there's some new information from the guys at BioWare. BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk announced that the upcoming PC title Dragon Age Origins will also see life on consoles, in the future. Expected to be exclusive to the PC initially, the dungeon crawler will feel familiar to fans of Baldur's Gate -- another BioWare franchise. No other information on a console release schedule for Dragon Age Origins is available yet, but we expect it won't be for quite some time.

I've never heard of Dragon Age before. Does it interest anybody?

Good news for console owners Bioware have confirmed that it will be the proper game and not some spin off that will hit consoles sometime after the PC release in 2009. Awesome news smile.gif My PC should cope with it but if by any chance it won't at least I'll have the option of a console version.

I'm expecting big things from this game. Baldurs Gate 2 is easily one of the best and most engrossing western RPGs ever made and Bioware always deliver.

EDIT that said here's a TRAILER and some screens

Dragon Brigade
The closest I've come to playing something Baldur's Gateish is Champions of Norrath, which I highly enjoy. The screens for this game are looking good, and the trailer didn't look to shabby either. Kind of reminded me of the scene at Helm's Deep in LotR, though I know the two aren't related in any fashion (aside from races). Maybe that's just me though. But yeah, the game doesn't look too bad.

A lot of fans are already signing this game as Baldur's Gate III because of it's greatness. Well, from what you can see on pics and trailers anyway. My comp definitely can't handle this game, but coming for consoles are great news indeed. It's been a long time since I played anything or look-alike from Forgotten Realms.

Yeah Bioware themselves have dubbed it the spiritual successor to BG2. Man if it's anywhere near as good as BG2 this game will be amazing. BG2 still offers so much in terms of game play and story no Western RPG has topped it yet with exception to Planescape Torment which has a different setting anyway.

Agreed. Baldur's Gate was a great game, and I enjoyed just by gazing into the screen while playing the second one. It had that feeling of complete control over the game, just like the Fallout did. The story, the characters, quests, hell I even feel like playing again just when I think about it. I'm hoping for the best in the next game.

Since Bioware said that it's a spiritual successor, I wonder will there be any cameo appearances from BG?

Dragon Age cut scene footage - The voice acting and writing seem great so far (I like the music too) and it captures a fantastic atmosphere, this game is so mine when it comes out smile.gif My PC should be able to handle it well probably not at full spec but well all the same.
