Wii Warm Up: Motion controls ... plus

This morning, we'll find out more about Wii MotionPlus, the new addition for the Wii remote that's supposed to improve, well, the Wii's whole purpose. It seems like such a big thing, adding improved functionality to the Wii's major selling point, and it's all handled by a very tiny device.

But we'll find out more about exactly what it does later. What we want to know right now is: what was the first thing you thought of when you heard? An old game that could have used improvement? A new game that's already been announced? Or something completely different that, before, you didn't think was quite possible? One of these?

Hey maybe next year they'll create Wii Motion Controls X2. It'll probably only cost another 30 bucks, again.

I mean improved functionality is alright but this seems like it's a bit unnecessary and just another way to get some more money pumping out first party hardware.

Of course Nintendo wants to leech as much money as they can off of the haxcore Ninty fans that're willing to buy more excessive hardware. (Advanced SP, DS Lite, ANOTHER possible DS micro?)

I think it's unnecessary too. I'm sure they're going to get quite a revenue from this new remote, which is all that really matters if you're in the business I guess. :\

If they're going to do some bullsh#t like this, they could have at least made it an entirely upgraded standard Wii-mote with the improved functionality, rather than yet another ####### add-on. That'd be like if Sony made a rumble pack add-on instead of the Dualshock 3. It'd be ####### ridiculous, as this definitely is. Screw Ninty and their gimicky success. I respect the company's roots and past success, but I can't really agree with any of what they're doing this generation, successful or not.

It's simple, Nintendo is now focusing towards new gamers and casual gamers. They completely forgotten about their Hardcore fans, so instead of making 1st parrty games, instead, they make 5h!ttY cartoony/kiddy games to attract for family fun and casual gamers.

So in response to all this, im not gonna get anymore Wii 5h!t until more 1st party games come out, and also The Conduit.

This is a big thing and I don't mind paying more money for it. It makes the wii alot better motion is now followed in real time. I mean being able to sword duel with actually blocking and using different directions and you character doing the same is pretty cool but it also comes with Wii Sports resort so you see how the new motion works is basically another game so 30 bucks is not so bad when you think about.

This just continues my loss of faith towards nintendo which started with wii fit.

Dont lose your faith just yet. Look into the game called "The Conduit"
and this may get your hopes back up. It's a Sci-Fi FPS, that will have online play, and they're trying to incorporate a mic-speak system aswell. They were testing the online and they played with 16people with no lag. Although this game is coming out Quarter 1 of 2009, this is keeping my hopes up.

Apparantly the developers of The Conduit are upset with Nintendo for not using the Wii to it's full potential, so making this game, they're using every bit of the Wii's power they can. They actually consider this game to be "Halo for the Wii, but better".

You have no idea how wrong you just sounded.

Tell me, do you have lightsabre duels with your friends as well?

the wii has potential? hehe just playing smile.gif

this is really a idiotic move and now you have to buy yet another wii periph to even play some of the newer games so yet another worthless add-on people must have in their collection. Nintendo is the king of making add-ons that only utilize a few games.

You know its funny, people keep saying how cheap Nintendo is, but after you run out and buy the 50 different periph's just so you can play all the different games, its right up there in price..
Razael
Actually, coming to down to basis, its even more expensive to have a wii.

How wrong I just sounded? It has always been my dream to be able to actually play a game like that where my motion would be in real time and follow the characters. Unfournately I can't help what I enjoy if its wrong I'm not going to change simply because other people would find it "wrong". I have a job and I pay bills I'm definetly not the kid in his mothers basement. But to me games always have been more then games too me they are an adventure into another world and the experience of it is just amazing too me. lol if it was a not a game then I probably would not do a light saber duel. I have never been told I was wrong to enjoy something that I like.
