It's not often a product description like this comes along, so I'm going to let it speak for itself:

"Frantic and fun, Fat Princess pits two hordes of players against each other in comic medieval battle royale. Your goal is to rescue your beloved princess from the enemy dungeon. There’s a catch though: your adversary has been stuffing her with food to fatten her up and it’s going to take most of your army working together to carry her back across the battlefield."

Yes. It's 16v16, online carnage, as you fight over - and drag - a morbidly obese woman across the battlefield. There's 10 maps, five character classes, and one writer's captured heart.

What the hell. Hahaha. As odd as this looks, from what I can see in those screens and that little bit of info, it definitely does sound fun as hell. I may have to try to keep an eye on this.

Sounds [i]really[i] weird to me...A little too morbid for my tastes. I think I'm going to pass on it all together...

You can switch between five different character classes literally at the drop of a hat: the fearless Warrior, the steadfast Archer, the mystical Mage, the tireless Worker, and the deadly Priest. In order to triumph, players must combine their skills and work together. The name of the game is cooperation, whether it’s helping another player drag a log back to your castle, manning a battering ram to smash through the enemy’s front gate, or building a human pyramid to scramble over the walls.

Key Features

* Casual Single & Multiplayer Online/Offline Action – Cooperate with your team of medieval soldiers (up to 16 players on each side) to overthrow the opponent’s army, plunder their castle and save the princess
* 5 Character Classes – Change your avatar’s character anytime by swapping hats: Worker, Warrior, Archer, Mage and Priest
* 10 Unique Maps – There will be 10 maps total, shared across single & multiplayer modes
* Experience intense frantic gameplay across diverse, charming and challenging environments
* Resources & Upgrades – Work together to collect resources to upgrade your primitive weapons and basic castle defenses into superior armaments and impenetrable fortifications
* Unique Game Modes – Select from several various game types: Rescue the Princess, Thwart the Invasion, and Medieval Games
* 32-player Online Skirmish – Jump in and join as many as 32 players online to wreak havoc on the battlefield and carry your stout princess back home during the conflict

LOLS?! This sounds hilarious. I love the concept of a "fat princess", especially since it seems like something that no one else would dare approach. :D Props to you....uhh....developers of fat princess....whoever you guys are. o__o

I probably won't play it myself, since it's not exactly my type of game, but I'm liking the art style lols the concept is just so ace.

If you get to name your princesses I will call mine Rina.

And Rina, I thought you'd like this kind of game =)

It sounds like a funny game and looks neat, but.... ....why is something that is a kind of jokey and cartoony game so darn bloody??? XD I'm sorry, but I couldn't help but WTF over how a game has a goofy story ploy and have those kiddie graphics then BAM, pools of blood everywhere XD

This looks like one of those offbeat games that barely anyone would play but I would surely get X3 (*past platformers, odd ball games are also neat to play)

OH Loom~~~~

You truly do love meeee. *o*

Lols, the bloody factor to it just makes it more morbid. It kind of reminds me of kawaii-noir, cute but surprisingly spooky and gory.

well i saw this coming and its a stupid arguement by overweight girls who need to worry less about this kind of thing and more about losing their weight. If you dont like fat jokes, get un fat.

I hope they dont change the name and make the princess in the game even fatter.

Fat Princess has garnered a lot of attention when it debuted at E3. The startlingly violent PSN multiplayer game got accolades from gamers and critics alike for its unique premise and appealing gameplay. However, not everyone is happy with Fat Princess.

Shakesville (picture, above) notes that the title furthers inappropriate gender stereotypes and continues the culture of ridicule that many overweight individuals must suffer through. "Anyway, congrats on your awesome new game, Sony. I'm positively thrilled to see such unyielding dedication to creating a new generation of fat-hating, heteronormative #######. It's not often I have the opportunity to congratulate a cutting-edge tech company on such splendiferous retrofuck jackholery. Way to go! The Fat Princess of Shakes Manor salutes you."

Feminist Gamers has a suggestion: they want the game to avoid making the princess become fat with cake. Instead, there are other non-"cute" ways of going about this, in terms of gameplay: "So how about layering, Karamari-style, a bunch of random ##### on top of the chest, like shrubbery, rocks, bison, etc, that would also weight it down. That could be cute, and silly, and not reinforce nasty stereotypes about women and the obese."

Discuss.

Yeah, I saw that article yesterday...People are always going to complain about something. I guess I can understand that they feel embarrassed or something because of their weight, but right now they're the only ones really commenting on it and making a big deal out of something like that. ...I dunno. >.>.

Check out 01:50. You get to see the fat princess in action. Apparently she will return to her first form if you refuse to feed her. And if you do feed her she grows more fat and is more difficult to carry.

As for the fat and feminist complaints about the game, I think they're as ridiculous as the black woman who called Resident Evil 5 racist. Every stereotype is prone to jokes. Do you think every plummer is fat, italian, and eats nothing but pasta? Fat people aren't exempt to that concept.
These people only complain about games that concern them, and not for example how in Resident Evil 4 you mauled down nothing but Latinos. Or in previous installments, white people.

It's just a cute game. I think it would be no less of a problem if people feel that they need to take this out out of pity. If so, then I think their definition of respect is distorted.
