NIS America's Jack Nilda confirmed at E3 yesterday that the company's home branch in Japan is working on a new title for the PLAYSTATION 3. He did not provide any details about the game aside from the fact that it will take greater advantage of the hardware's technological capabilities than Disgaea 3. Nilda noted that the company is also interested in working on an RPG with motion capabilities for the Wii, but the PlayStation hardware will continue to be the primary focus for the foreseeable future(due to the larger number of hardcore gamers). Lastly, Nippon Ichi is set to announce two new titles: one before the end of July and one in September or October. Only time will tell whether or not one of those games ends up being the mysterious PS3 exclusive.

Sounds good, but Disgaea will most probably keep people far to busy for those two new games. Two new Nippon Ichi games is always a good thing, though.

NIS games are so much win. *o* Although it's true that they may get outshadowed by Disgaea 3, which we all know is highly anticipated, I'm sure they're bound to be good and playworthy.

ALSO; let's see if they use the Playstation's graphic capabilities this time around. Or will they stay true to their sprite design? O: (I actually wouldn't mind the latter much, but having some crazy cool graphics wouldn't be too bad either.)

Or maybe they can make really really really high tech sprites? lol. I like the style of the Disgaea games, but I wouldn't mind seeing them doing things a bit differently for once.
The Evil Dead
We're talking about NIS. We're getting sprites. HIGH DEF SPRITES!

Good news. NIS needs to get to work on the current gen consoles ASAP.

All I known is none of this title will be the forgotten project Makai Wars.

None of these game will be over-shadow by Disgaea 3. Disgaea 3 was released earlier this year while it's slated to be released in the U.S. around the end of August. The titles being discussed here are not even announce yet. The U.S. won't be seeing this title until next year at earliest. Looks like they'll be one for Wii and likely PS3, but who knows. I figure it will be a Strategy RPG that will take advantage of PS3 capabilities. Honestly, they can keep the sprites look alive on Wii while trying to move in a different direction on PS3 using it's graphic capabilities.
The Evil Dead
I'd honestly be very surprised to see NIS pump out anything that actually takes advantage of the current gen hardware.

Have to move on some point. I'll always love the old school sprite style, but not everyone else does.
Voyou San
well they do say that they plan to make better use of the ps3 hardware than disgaea 3 did so who knows, mabye this game will step away from the sprites.

To be honest, I'm a huge huge fan of the sprite style myself. I find it a little charming, and it adds personality to the overall experience of the game.

I'm hoping, if they ever do step into high-def, that it won't come off as cheesy. :\ I could see where things could go terribly wrong in the process of character development and 3D rendering. D:
The Evil Dead
I'm not saying they won't move on from sprites... I just imagine whatever they throw together won't be too mind blowing based on what we've been getting from them for years. That's not a bad thing, they still send great games our way, just sayin'.
Voyou San
any guesses on what the mystery games will be?

this was posted in the original article..

NIS America also discussed with us two upcoming titles seeing American shores that we can't tell you about quite yet. However, we can say that one will be announced sometime before the end of July and is an iteration in a series that NIS fans are familiar with. The second won't even be announced until September or October, but Jack says that, "a lot of the hardcore RPG fans will [enjoy the announcement]," and that the series has been around in Japan for a couple of generations. With that, NIS America leaves readers salivating - keep watch to RPGFan for more about NIS America's titles as they get closer to release.
