Anyone played any of these games featuring Phoenix Wright and now Apollo Justice. These are some really great games to try out if you haven't already. Go to
http://court-records.net/ for more details about the games. My favorite characters are Franzhiska, Phoenix and Pearl. Basically your on cases to solve muder ones and that you've got to prove you clients Not Guilty. I cannot stop playing them once I start with one of these as being an ace detective is rather fun. Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice is certainly a big hit now!

I'm a really big Phoenix Wright fan as well....although I can't really say the same for Apollo Justice just yet. (The changes in characters and the development of them in the future bother me a lot. :\ )
the only bad thing I have to say about this game is that it's extremely repetitive. The difficulty lies in finding out flaws and lies in the testimonies, which is fun and all, but I do have to admit that the same gimmick is tiring. (Although I heard Apollo Justice switched up the gameplay a bit. I don't know by how much though.) The characters are also extremely lovable and easy to warm up to. I personally am a fan of Edgeworth. P: His mannerisms, and of course the cravat really does a lot for me. And although it's soooo obvious that Edgeworth and Phoenix are gay for eachother, I'm a huge fan of Phoenix and Maya.

There is so much wrong with that sentence.
Anyway, I own the first game and I really enjoyed it at first, I couldn't put the damn game down but one of the cases lost my interest and it was months before I picked it up again. I sometimes find it interesting how it unfolds, the final Edgeworth case was a highlight for me, but sometimes they story fails to grab me. Sadly when that happens the game play can't save it and the game collects dust.
I might get the second one or something, but it's not a priority.

I only played Apollo Justice, but I really liked the game a lot. Especially since I didn't play the other games, but how the first case seemed to tie into a big event at the end of the previous game, and how all the cases were connected somehow.

My favorite character is probably Klavier.
I like how he does his air guitar riffs, and says things like "fräulein" and "herr forehead".

I also thought Vera was a likable character.
After playing Apollo Justice, I feel like checking out the other games as well.

The only thing that you don't want to do is to use a walkthrough as it will ruin the game for you.

I didn't like what they did to Phoenix in Apollo Justice, it felt like the game ignored all the development and relationships that were established in the previous 3 games.

I have the first two games, and I'm almost finished with the second one. I picked up both on release day, lol. I lost interest after a while (the game got too repetitive, and the difficulty ended up being monstrous), but while I played them, I loved each one. I seriously sat through the first game and beat it the day I got it.
I need to finish the second game and pick up the third. I really want to catch up with this series.

Apollo Justice is the 4th in the series.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Justice for All
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
I'm pretty sure that story-wise, Apollo Justice is the last in the series.

This is coming from someone who has only played the 4th game in the series, quite a stretchy comparison. xD

Yeah I don't know how different he is compared to before, was just poking fun of your comment. =p
I talked to Alazuli about these games before though, and she recommended that I play them. I was curious how connected that first case from Apollo was to the previous game, and if that case you see a flashback of actually happens or not. But she didn't get to the third game yet so she couldn't tell me, and I guess I'd rather see for myself now.
The more games, the better. As long as I don't get bored with it being repetitive that is. But as of now I'd still like to play through the others. I'm considering if I should start FF4 first, or the Phoenix Wright games.
There was a big "wth" moment in Apollo Justice when I saw what was behind those three
paintings, and I imagined that there was something big behind the whole thing that I wasn't aware of. It gave me a different perspective of the story. But it turned out it wasn't anything special. Don't know if anyone else reacted the same way.

Isn't this the kind of thing that belongs in the member's discussion forum?
Anyway, Does the judge stay the same throughout? Do they ever develop him as a character much beyond getting flustered by pretty women? I'm kind of hoping the answer is no. Personally I found some of the interconnectivity in the story a little far-fetched but then again I'm very much glad for it. The most interesting case I did was the last one (not the extra one) on the first Phoenix Wright game. Did that all end after the first game?
I should probably pick up Apollo or either of the other two I haven't bought.

Kira would be badass as an Ace Attorney though. His specialty would be God's Judgement. No prosecutor would stand a chance.
The judge doesn't seem to change much from what you described, and from a flashback case dating back to the Phoenix Wright timeline. He's still a bit dimwitted at times, but some times he says something smart as well. Or if he really did develop, then I can't imagine what he was like before. lol
This interconnectivity you talk about sounds interesting though. Do you mean that certain cases were connected to each other, but in a not so obvious way? That's something I liked in Apollo Justice.
Flame, if you get Apollo or another game, I'll get the first two.
Flame

All the cases except one had some connection, not really in a subtle way but it was quite interesting. In one of the cases you had to refer to something you had learned about the murder weapon in an earlier case (I don't want to give too much away). The last case brings together everything you've learned and well as a connection between a few of the characters.
I might just invest an another PW, but first of all I need to finish the extra case from the first game. Also with FFIV on the way and my PS3 coming in october PW isn't a priority but if I see it cheap then I'll probably go for it.

The only case that I can think off that is just as similar as case 4 in PW:AA would be case 5 in PW:TaT. Personally I found JFA to be the weakest of them all, the only thing that made it worth playing was case 4 despite the fact that it didn't have the cool inter-case connectivity as AA and TaT did.

I imagined this connectivity Flame spoke of to be the same as the last case in Apollo Justice, but I guess I misunderstood.
My favorite case so far was either the first one (perhaps because it was my first case, and it seemed to be connected to something bigger from a previous game) or the magic act case with Lamiroir, because she was a unique witness in the way that she always told the truth. And that's something I started to realize and rely on early on. And because of this the contradictions that seemed to come from her testimonies were all the more puzzling to me.
It was interesting to see how it all came together though, and I liked using the mixing tables to analyze the tapes.
Story wise, it was probably my favorite case.
Which case did you guys like the best?

Actually AJ's last case also had the same connectivity as the other cases did in the previous games, especially with regards to the characters kinda like Lamiroir or Phoenix during his post lawyer days and how everything got tied up in the end.
Also I find the prosecution in AJ kinda lacking especially when you compare Klavier to the likes of Karma, Edgeworth and Godot, but then again I guess its still too early to call it perhaps in the future AJ will also have its share of cool prosecution characters.

Out of all the cases in the only one game of it's series that I have played PW: JF...definitely Case 3. Case 2 and 1 were great, 4 was meh. Only thing good about the case is that it has Edgeworth in it as the procecuter.

Well I started the first Phoenix Wright game a few days ago. So far it's been pretty interesting, but seems a lot more easy than Apollo Justice was for me. So far I haven't made a single mistake, and I always knew which evidence to use right away. I'm on the case with the Steel Samurai for now. Investigating the studio.

I started Apollo Justice thanks to Athrun. I really like the game and the trail is really interesting. This is my first Ace Attorney game so I can't compare to Phoenix Wright. Some nice lines and pretty well thought out cases.

Pheonix Wright is an awesome game. I am currently on chapter 4 when Edgeworth is in trouble. His mentor who has not lost a case in 40 years is funny as hell. Great games, and I will be playing the next three games after I have finished this one, though I still have FFIV DS to finish.
