The Dark Knight star, Christian Bale, was arrested by London police today after his mother and sister told authorities that the actor assaulted them. Police were actually going to arrest Bale yesterday, but felt doing so during the European premiere of the biggest movie of the year might have been embarrassing. I think I speak for everyone when I say "What...the...fuck..." The Sun UK reports:
"He is alleged to have lashed out on Sunday night at Park Lane's Dorchester Hotel - where he has a suite. Mum Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, who lives in Dorset, went to a police station in Hampshire yesterday to lodge the allegation. The matter was referred to the Met Police. Detectives, well aware of last night's glittering bash, took the decision not to approach Bale yesterday. But they are expected to make attempts to quiz the Wales-born actor today. A source said: "It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don't yet know is founded in truth. "But Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened." A Met Police spokesman said: "We can confirm we have received allegation from another force in relation to an alleged incident in central London."Bale seems like one of the normal actors in Hollywood, so I hope this is just one big misunderstanding. If not, I really hope he used his Batman voice. Girls always get scared when I use that. Not as scared as I would like, but my mom hasn't finished making my cape yet.

I always thought Bale was one of the nice guys. Going for your Mum is a very bad thing.

Hehe, no more movies for him....maybe.

I thought it was a verbal assault, which is hardly a big deal.

Lashed out usually means physical violence. The police would not be called for just trivial verbal assault.

You don't know that for a fact. My grandmother called the police because she saw a person waiting for a car across the street and thought that they were invoking voodoo on her. The police showed up.

Possible ploy to knock him off the mountain he's on. Remember, your biggest enemies you can ever have in life is infact your own family.
On the flipside - he is under pressure due to his high fame. It's not an excuse, but it's enough to bring the beast out of people.

not true at all. Lashed out could be physcial violence and verbal violence. And if the police are called, they are going to come for the most part.

Well it's just allegedly, I really don't think he's capable of doing this, but who knows?

Haha, true. He (spideman) should be fined for all those trespassing, breaking and entering, witty comebacks etc....

Well, it says he assaulted them. Usually that's taken as a physical means, but who knows. From my perspective, he's always seemed like a relatively normal person. Ah well. I'm sure there'll be a big "breaking news story" on it at a later date. Not that I can say I personally really care. Some of these things really aren't worth the attention people give them. Accidents happen with anybody / to anybody.

From everything I read it only seems to the Sun newspaper that said he "assaulted" them and the Sun are about as reliable as an alcoholic in a brewery, they seriously are a terrible paper. Anyway something silly like poking someone in the chest in this country is legally a form of assault so this could be something that was blown out of all proportion. He denies it so I'd rather give him the benefit of a doubt and he's still an awesome actor I just hope this doesn't affect his career in anyway.

Usually for something as small as this, the only people that would hold it against someone are the extreme haters and whatnot. I don’t think this will really affect his career at all, but that’s just my opinion.

Badman Got arrested? Sounds logical.
I always wonder. Why Super heroes don't get sued or charge when they are stalking people, trans passing people's property. Breaking public property. Even public vandalism.
Just look at spiderman. He leaves his web everywhere and no body even border to say a thing about it.
Anyway, I think Bale's mother and sister are just paranoid.

If he was threatening them then yes.
I don't think it will affect his career too much if he's not found guilty or if it isn't as bad as it seems. A guy on NZ TV called 'The Lion Man'
may have put his partner in hospital and he's still doing well on TV.

Needs more information. I've been paying attention to Bale and his career for a long time and I don't believe he'd do this. He doesn't seem like the type of guy that would hit a female.
I guess I'll wait and see what develops. It'd be unfortunate if this were true, I think it'd hurt his career a bit considering how big of a spotlight he's in these days. I know I'd definitely be disappointed if the allegations are true considering I'm a huge fan and have been for years.

from what i heard this is about his mom wanting money. When bale was a young tot his rents got divorced and he had the option of which parent to choose. He picked his dad, who is now his manager and his mom is pissed about the effect. It was told the mom said something very bad about Bale's wife and thats what made him mad. The police said there were no injuries and he was being released, but they arrest everyone there and then take them in for questioning.
So i think this is a case of his mom wanting some of the buck.

I read more about it today and it was his Mum who asked Bale for $100,000 to borrow for his Sister so she could use it to help bring up her three children. He then went on to say no, his mum or sister kicked off, and his other sister said something rude about his wife, and then he supposedly lashed at because of that.
Like Voyou San aid, it is a ploy to sue him or something along these lines.
My mother seemed to survived on not much a month with three kids, so $100,000 seems quite alot.

More detailed info
QUOTE
More details have been released regarding what exactly caused the altercation between Bale and his mother and sister. Details like his sister asking to "borrow" 200 grand to help raise her kids. And other details like, when Bale refused, his mother and sister threw a hissy fit and started talking shit about his wife. The Sun reports:
"But sources close to 6ft 2in Bale, who has another sister called Louise, said Jenny inflamed the situation by hurling insults about his wife Sibi, 38...A source close to the case said: "Christian is a very wealthy young man and was asked to help his sister out financially. He was asked to loan her $200,000 but he refused and that caused an almighty row. During that row, the women claim, he assaulted them by pushing and shoving them. Both Jenny and Sharon are terribly upset over what happened. They did not want any publicity and the last thing they wanted to do was wreck his premiere evening. But they say he bullied them. They are both devastated that it has come to this but want him to be taught a lesson."...Sharon, who works in computer programming, has two daughters - aged ten and 12 - from a previous marriage and a baby from a new relationship."
So yeah. His sister asked to "borrow" (yeah I'm sure she was going to pay it back) $200 000 and then went on to talk trash about Bale's wife. (I assume something about being a gold digger.)
I like the part where the mother said that she had no intention of ruining his premiere. If that's true, why didn't she report this the day after? It's not like it was an emergency. She knows full well how these things reach the tabloids and get blown out of proportion.

Sounds about right. Like I said, Bale just doesn't seem to be the kind of guy to do this sort of thing. Seems like the allegations are false, but I guess it could still be proven otherwise.

THAT WOMAN NEEDS 200 GRAND FOR 2 DAUGHTERS!??! How ##### greedy can you be!?
He shoved and bullied them? Didn't THEY started it by insulting HIS wife? Really, if any, they had it coming. Those two women should get real.
Besides, she works in a computer programming company, last time I checked, those companies payed good money.
Jealous bitch!
