In 2007 it was revealed that Square is very interested in making another chrono game. The issue however is getting together the old chrono team to keep that old "chrono feel". The only difficulty is that most of the team is busy with other games ATM and we will have to wait a little longer.
Also Masato Kato has already returned to SquareEnix in 2006 to do work on the World of Mana series. Also at PLAY! 2006 Mitsuda stated that he would love to compose for a new chrono game.

I for one cannot wait for a new chrono game and hope they get to work on it soon. Chrono Trigger was legendary and Chrono Cross was an excellent sequal (though some may disagree due to a new cast). Although the player doesn't realize it till the end, the CC plot is directly linked to the events in CT and I for one enjoyed it. Radical Dreams, while just a small side story, was very well written and interesting to anyone who might like a good book. For those who don't know about RD, allow me to explain. RD was the prototype that CC was based on. The game was only released in Japan via Satellaview. RD is later stated in CC at Chronopolis that it is in fact more of a side story that takes place in a third, unexplored dimension. That being said RD in the end became more than just a prototype. Eventually DemiForce translated a RD ROM for SNES emulators so everyone can enjoy this side story.
Well I hope this info helps clear up any confusion about the continuation of the series to those who did not know about it. I also hope my small history lesson didn't bore anyone.
Though it may still take some time to happen, I can see a new chrono game on the horizon.
