The awards for the E3 presented by Gametrailers. To me there were some really surprising games this year, which is always good. Definitely some games I am looking out for.

Well, these results aren't majorly surprising. RE5 is the clear winner of the E3 2008 and Nintendo seems to be the biggest fail, which isn't really surprising.
Anyway, your thoughts on these results?

This is probably the first year I've really payed attention to E3, but I can't say I was too impressed. Nintendo was most disappointing for me, but Sony/Microsoft didn't seem too bad. ...or at least as bad. >.o. I dunno. I don't really have too much to say on it, really. Wasn't terrible though...

I thought Fat Princess should be there somewhere on the list. But the best thing for me was seeing Resident Evil 5, so I agree with that much.
Overall though, this years E3 didn't bring much that was interesting.

Fat Princess was nominated several times, but defeated. I think I saw Fat Princess twice of thrice in all the videos, which is quite good.

I really fail to see how Microsoft had the best conference. Sure they had the announcement that had people talking for a long time, but in the end it WAS only an announcement that a PS3 game is going multiplatform. Everything else in that conference was kind of weak, in my opinion, and I personally feel that the sony conference was better.

were not very many suprises that really interested me outside of Fat Princess. The awards look about right..

E3 is getting boring though..

Well that's because the PS3 games are so awesome, that every little crum thrown their way from the PS3 library makes huge headlines. No one would care if an X360 game went multi platform though.

i agree with Grahf, they really had nothing minus the fact that they are getting a PS3 game.. I really dont think anyone "won" E3 cause nobody showed anything breathtaking or great. Just a bunch of stuff we knew about..

We know that Ninty lost though =P. I considered Sony's press conference to be better as well, but they thought different.

the problem with sony was there was no big suprise.. the video store was nice and MAG, well i mean bleh.. I was waiting for some RPG suprise or something new.. it was just a bunch of stuff we had already heard. Then they showed stuff for the PS2 which i thought was a mistake.. I seriously think, hey its been a good run, but they should let the PS2 and force consumers, especially with the recent price drop of the 80GB to go out and purchase a PS3.

but yea Nintendo def. lost, they showed NOTHING except idiots with wii-motes

It is good to Resident Evil 5 nominated the most as it is going to be one heck of a game. Especially from all those trailers and in game demos that I have seen from it. Still have not seen that I am Alive trailer yet so I should do soon.

This year's E3 was kinda bunk, in my opinion... Only standouts that I can think of were Resistance 2 and Fallout 3.

RE5 wasn't standing out for you, TED? I thought you were a RE fan, or was that just the movies you liked? Not sure =P.

I really haven't enjoyed RE since 2... I'm reserving my judgment on 5 due to not liking 4. We'll see how it turns out.

No one liked the movies, Voy. That's why they made 3.

people were stupid enough to go see them, does not mean they liked them when they left. Just like Fantastic Four and Spider-Man.. but that is way off topic.

So people are stupid enough to see 2 sequels if they hated the first movie or even the second in blind hope the other sequel or sequels are magically going to be better?

No. And if people are that stupid, then they got what they deserved.

You cannot ignore the success of the RE franchise, it's one of Sony pictures largest franchises of films and highest grossing.

i did in hoping that they would somehow wake up and get better which sadly never happened, they actually got worse..noted i only went to the theater for the first one.

well you have to watch it to have an opinion of it, plus when i am at a friends house and they are about to watch it, ill give it a try.. but this is way besides the point teddy..

i do think RE5 looked good though i dont really think it was best of show..

I don't know, while certainly not the best E3, I enjoyed watching the new trailers and gameplay videos of certain titles like Tales of Vesperia, and the ones that cached my eye for the first time like I Am Alive, Legendary the Box, Bayonetta or others that I already knew about like The Last Remnant, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill Homecoming, Fallout 3, Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Fable 2 and Star Wars Force Unleashed.
