What are your favorite pets? How many do you own?

My favorite pets are cats. I have 2 cats right now. A young tabby cat and an old black one. I don't why so many people hate cats and say that they are selfish and don't build a good relationships with humans and how all cats are the same, ect. My cats certainly aren't. Both cats have very distinct personalities and are very loyal and have an attachment to every person in the family.

In my house in the Netherlands we have 2 cats and 2 guinea pigs and in the current house I live in, we have 1 cat and 2 dwarf hamsters.

My favourite animals remain cats though. Sure, they're not as loyal and protective as dogs, but they are still very funny and cute. I agree that cats aren't as affectionate as dogs are and generally sleep around all day, I still find cats to be better pets than dogs.

cats for me. They are just like me, lazy and adorable smile.gif

I have 1 cat with me in my apartment, named Moxi.

and Pes it depends on the cat, mine is overly affectionate.. always wanting to get some lovin.

Oh, with affectionate I meant protecting and caring like dogs do, in general. Dogs show more emotion towards their boss. Sorry for not being clear. =P

very true on that front, dogs just annoy me to no end.. smile.gif

We've got 2 dogs and 2 cats. I like them equally. Cats are just very cute and adorable, while dogs do indeed show more love towards their owner. Still, if I had to choose out of those four, I think I'd choose the oldest dog. She's very nice and listens very well. The youngest dog (which we've had for only two months) seems to be scared of me for some reason, and apparently avoids me. =S My own cat is very asocial, and the other cat claws just about everyone. >.> So yeah, oldest dog ftw!
Denim
Three cats, one with a terrible tendency to piss on beds, so she stays outside. And another one that has to meow really loudly, and their mother, who is the perfect cat for everything and is lovely.

I also have two dogs, a St. Bernard/Lab mix Chloe and a German Sheppard named Spike.
cloudycat
I also have cats(I love dogs too), 3 actually - Tiny Cloudy and Max. Tiny's in bad shape though he has suspected cancer of the tongue. I'm well upset about that sad.gif

Dogs ##### bark all the time. I'm done with dogs since the house I used to live in was next to a neighbor that left her dog outside day and night and it just howled. Endlessly.

So yeah. ##### dogs. I have a cat. It just sits around and eats food and shits. Awesome pet.
Dragon Brigade
I've had gerbils in mass quantity (started out with one, then it decided to mate with my sister's. Only kept four of the offspring, sold the rest as they came.), plus two frogs.

All of the above are at this point dead. If I ever get another pet, it'll be a cat, but that won't be any time soon.

Get a Tamagotchi. Costs less, does the same.

Three cats:
Punkinhead - My favorite. Fluffy bastard, and just overall chill. (I've got a story or two about him, but for this thread, I'll just say he's my favorite pet, ever.)
Bugaboo - Fatty, and has a habit of going to the bathroom places other than the litter box, particularly if it (the box) isn't clean enough for her. But aside from that, she ain't bad. Just noisy at times. Just randomly has meowing fits, haha.
Gracy - Skinny and gray, with horrible breath (rotten tooth, or something). She's annoying in all sorts of ways, but she's an affectionate cat.

Pic of Punkin and Buga cuddling, by the way: Bugaboo on left, Punkinhead on right.

Four dogs:
Goldie - As I teasingly call her sometimes, "Twinkie." Close enough to the color, and round like one. She's a cool dog, though. Only occasionally gets annoying when she's barking at seemingly nothing, or when she's bugging you for unknown reasons (which you usually won't ever figure out, so she'll keep whining).
Brownie - Never really liked her much, but she's not too bad nowadays. She's glued to my sister most of the time, anyway, and when my sister's not home, she spends most of the day lying around, depressed.
Cisco - Just when we lost one annoying German shepherd, we got another, younger one. dry.gif I wasn't too fond of him for quite a while, since he was going through his puppy phase ever since we got him. (Chewing/eating everything in sight, going to the bathroom everywhere, etc.) He's still the most active/playful of the bunch, which gets annoying (especially since he always has to bark, which echoes in here, and he's got a loud bark to begin with). But when he finally chills out, he's a pretty cool dog, and probably my favorite out of the four. But only when he's not being noisy.
Casper - Another puppy. I didn't want it, and we weren't supposed to be keeping it, but my mom feels the need to just keep every damn dog she touches, so it's here now. He's still a puppy, so I suppose he's got potential to be a better dog, but right now, I don't like him one bit. Especially since he just goes to the bathroom everywhere, and doesn't do much else.

My cat was free and doesn't require batteries.

I like cats but would choose a dog many times over one!
I had a dog named Dark (that hunts angel-rabbits nowadays) a little shy but still a playful fellow, he got 105 years old (dog years) we never trained him (other then sit, which worked about 4 out of 10 times) and he still where a nice friendly dog that looked better then most other dogs!

as a example, a dog breeder visited us at home and he asked what race and what we did special about him to get so nice fur, we smiled and answered that he was a cross-breed and we never used any shampoo.
he looked strange on us and then started a whole other topic!

Your dog got to the age of 105!? Jesus, what kind of breed was that?
Or did you actually used the old kid's story that a human year is equivalent to 7 dog years? xD

He said "dog years," didn't he?

Anyway, I agree: cats all the way. As long as you can keep them going in the litter box, and keep them from shredding things, they're usually pretty awesome. Dogs are just a pain, unless they're the really lazy type that just lie around all day and can't be bothered to do anything annoying.

Oh I know. I really felt bad for the dog, but honestly... It just ruined dogs for me man. It was a year of straight howling. I don't hate dogs or anything, and I'm always friendly with them, but I'd never personally own one.

2 cats.

1 dog.

8 puppies.

I don't favor one over the other.

I know he said that, hence my comment. Last time I checked, there was no "dog year".

have heard of selective hearing but selective sight was new! :b
Hyoushitsu
I live with four cats. I like one of them.

I'm tired of cats. I miss having a dog. I've always been a pretty huge dog person. I used to like cats too, but after the last two that we adopted here, and my roommate moving in with his cat, I can't stand the buggers anymore. When my old cat dies, it's going to suck. Only decent cat in the house.

One of my roommate likes the idea of keeping ferrets as a pet. Ugh. Dirty, ugly, miserable, annoying creatures. I wouldn't be able to stand having one as a pet. Especially since a friend of ours has one.

I will own a dog again. Though it'll probably be a long way down the line...

As in, it doesn't exist ><. There is no formula to calculate how old a dog is, as the years and aging of dogs are different per breed and size.
YourSweet666
I got a few pets, 4 cats, a dog, and a lil' budgie. I have no idea which I'd call my favourite, but it'd likely be thr bird of 2 of the cats. They're affectionate animals, happy to sit with me while I type away so long as I pay them a little attention, good to relax with.

Cats, but my mom doesn't like cats anymore, so she bought rabbits. We have two of them >_>. The black and white one is called Judy, which I have nicknamed "Run from everybody Judy" because she will run from everybody. The all white one is a male(I know I know) don't know its name yet, but it doesn't run as much as Judy >_>.
