Sony has announced plans to create and develop a Spin off movie about Venom from Spiderman 3. Mean Creak scribe Jacob Estes may have a crack at the scrip but Sony may be looking for other writers. Topher Grace, who played Venom in Spider-Man 3, may not able to reprise the role as Sony believe he may not be cut out to play Venom in a whole movie.

Alright. So I suppose the lack of Topher Grace will be their justification of how Venom comes back after LITERALLY EXPLODING INTO NOTHING? Okay. Spiderman 3 sucked, though.

Spiderman 3 didn't suck, Topher Grace sucked. If they make a spin off, I hope they find someone suitable for the role. That guy in Spiderman 3 wasn't Venom. It was a joke.

Certainly you jest. I watched Spidey 3 recently, the first time since i wasted my movie theater when it came out, that entire movie was an exercise is stupidity. The only thing good about the movie was how good Bryce Dallas Howard looked as Gwen Stacy, and even her character being there was wrong.

Watch that entire "confident" Parker bit in the movie, its just sad. The suit made Parker a huge ##### yes, but that hair? and Dancing? on the streets? ridiculous.

And then there is the little gem called Kirsten Dunst. I couldnt think of a worse choice for playing Mary Jane Watson, except maybe Vin Diesel, because his boobs are too big. I dont remember MJ being this complicated, emotionally draining excuse for a girl. If I remember correctly, MJ is quite possible the ultimate chick. She is gorgeous, smart, supportive and pretty much easy going. This MJ was disgraceful, I wouldnt date that ##### in my life. The bitch practically blamed Peter Parker for her career going to ##### and getting bad reviews on the paper. ##### bitch.

Now Sandman, with the whole, lets just ##### this series thing up and not only change Spidey canon but our own established canon and make Sandman Ben Parker's killer, just to ##### with people.

And finally, Venom. Topher Grace? Topher ##### Grace? The wise cracking sarcastic and kinda clever dude that played Foreman in that 70s show and basically always plays a cracking sarcastic and kinda clever dude, that skinny dude is gonna be Eddie Brock? ##### you! No, No, No I dont want to hear that it was inspired by the ##### Marvel Ultimate Universe, ##### the Marvel Ultimate Universe, Nick Fury being black. Venom is supposed to be this big muscled dumb as a pole ##### who is basically the antithesis of Peter Parker you morons.

In light of that, I am not sure how to feel about this movie, might not see it, after what they did for Spidey 3 i am heartbroken.

The Dark Knight sucked.

That should start something. Oh ho ho.

Well I don't have much to think about this, sounds a little on the lame side. I wasn't very big in the Spiderman comics, or any for that matter, but I got the impression that Venom was more or less the bad guy. Bad guy's getting the main part in a movie usually doesn't go that well, even if they happen to be complicated characters. I only need to look at Catwoman and get an idea of where this would go.
The Evil Dead
I'll see it only if Raimi or someone else I deem competent is directing and there's no Topher Grace as Venom. I'm a huge Venom fan due to the old Spidey cartoon ( Sorry, not a comic nut ) and I'd love to see him get his own movie. As much as I hate the overwhelming amount of Marvel flicks coming out, getting an anti-hero out there would be a great change of pace.
Phisix
Sony stated that were looking for someone else to play Venom, so if they are smart enough, they will cast someone who is built like Brock.
The Evil Dead
Yeah I read that, but you never know.

Hey. The Submariner is an anti hero too, and he gets his own movie.

Also, Topher Grace was the LEAST of Spiderman 3's problems. The whole movie was just an excuse for half of the cast to dance. EVERYONE danced in that ##### movie. They might as well just have called it SPIDERMAN: THE MUSICAL and it would've been a much better movie.

I like Venom better than Spiderman just digged the black suit more than the red and blue. Also it helps since he tries to clean up the streets of LA if I'm not mistaken in the original spinoff comic book. If you live in LA, you'd know what I mean.
Denim
But Spidey's from New Yohk.

The details are fuzzy, since it has been awhile since I actually had my hands on the Venom spin-off comic. Especially since it's out of print by now. If I remember correctly Eddie Brock somehow managed his way to travel to the West Coast, and fought crime for repentance for his life of crime as Venom. It was a bit darker than the original Spidey comic, but it never caught the public's eye and shortly the series died. That's if I remember correctly the history of the comic strip.
Demiurge
Well, at the end of Spiderman 3, Peter Parker’s professor still had that sample of the symbiot (sp?). So maybe they’ll work with that? Or maybe this will just be an out of continuity movie, like what they did with the Hulk. Either way, let's just hope they do get the casting (and his voice) right this time around.
Dragon Brigade
A little update from the grave.

September 5, 2008 - Even as Sony Pictures moves ahead with plans for Spider-Man 4 & 5, the studio is also actively developing the spin-off film Venom, featuring the monstrous alien villain brought to cinematic life in last summer's Spider-Man 3.

According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Sony has tapped a pair of unidentified writers to script Venom. Mean Creak scribe Jacob Estes had previously hired to pen the screenplay but the studio decided to go in a new direction with different writers.

And what of Topher Grace, who played Venom's alter ego Eddie Brock? DHD says, "Given that comic book artist/writer and action figure maker, Todd McFarlane, who is one of the creators of the Marvel villain, doesn't think a Venom movie could do well with a villain as the central character, my sources think Sony should let Topher Grace, even though he was blown up at the end of Spider-Man 3 (yet a portion of the Venom costume survived), stay in the role because the likable actor could be a a sympathetic evildoer."

But might there be another actor angling to don the black suit? MTVposted an interview with Vin Diesel last week where the Babylon A.D. star said he wants to play the title role in an unspecified Marvel villain movie. Makes you wonder, don't it?

Oh God! I don't hate Topher Grace but I really don't want to see him return as Venom, I'd certainly be happier seeing Vin Diesel play the part. After Riddick in Pitch Black I think he'd be perfect as a likeable anti-hero.
Ken Masters
Vin Diesel from the beginning should have played Eddie Broc, IMO.
