The status on Fragile has been officially updated from scanned to gallery'd. Yep, you'll find a whole bunch of fresh, clear and ... don't touch them .. rather pretty images from this intriguing tri-Crescendo RPG in our new gallery.

Fragile? What the heck is that, you say? A history lesson -- it was announced as a "ruin-exploration RPG" last year, and only now has Namco released some new character art and images from in-game scenes. It seemed like vaporware for a brief period there, but new life has sprung forth! It's more stuff, just like we wanted, but we actually meant "give, game now! us!" instead of a simple collection of media.

Here's an idea. Go to the official website, have a read (if understanding Japanese is a skill you possess), and make sure the volume is turned up to let the haunting tune surround you. Hit the gallery for quietly surreal screens and enjoy the Fragile experience! It's not as good as playing the actual game, but it beats playing something you'll regret.

I think it's looking/sounding great, personally.

I have high hopes for this game. Tri-Crescendo is really hit-or-miss, usually. But I have to give them credit, as their works tend to be pretty ambitious and ultimately enjoyable, even when they're overly flawed.

Plus, you can always count on amazing music in any game with their name anywhere near it.

That fourth image with the little girl and the moonlight is really nice. There seems to be a lot of nice detail on the visuals put into this game. I wouldn't mind to learn more about this game as more and more information is released for it, though I am not familiar with the company behind it.

I think the company behind this game was also involved with Eternal Sonata for the xBox 360. Can't remember any of the other titles mentioned with them, but that was one of them.
Hyoushitsu
They also developed Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos: Origins.

They're also usually involved with the sound and music in most Tri-Ace games, as well as a couple others, I think.

Actually looks nice. As stated Eternal Sonata is not a perfect game, but it was still fun. Any word on how the combat is going to play out?

This is a bit of an article from way back in 2007:

QUOTE
Fragile is a game set in the near future where humans are almost extinct and the world is about to come to an end. Your quest is to search for new allies and to find out why everything is dying. The moon is the only thing Seto has to guide him on his perilous journey and along the way you discover the problems lie with bad spirits that you must defeat in order to return normalcy to the world. During the adventure, Seto will have to explore deserted towns where humans once lived but have now vanished, yet is not alone on this escapade as a mysterious heroine is waiting in the wings to lend a helping hand.

Gamers can use the Wii controller to hold a torch or metal detector, whilst the branch Seto is shown as holding in the images released so far is what can be used to fight off the evil spirits, with combat being mapped to a quick swing of either the Nunchuk or Wii controller itself.

With development already at the 30% stage and a 2008 release promised, no doubt more information will be forthcoming very soon.

Can't say I'm too hyped to be swinging things, but we'll see. I didn't really find much else on the combat itself, so I don't really know the specifics of anything.

This is a trailer the site had as well. 2nd one: http://www.cubed3.com/news/9048/ (<--- and source of above/below info).

Also, the translation of what is said in the trailer:

QUOTE
"Ah Hotaru. This Star, it's this sort of vastness the Earth is overflowing with people, but every person thinks "why am I alone?" It's because their mind is rot with madness. And to end this madness I must destroy that world, and to do that, I must locate the virus."

Doesn't sound too bad though.
LunarMaster
Ah. It's an action game similar to Zelda. I skimmed the article so I must have missed that sentence. THX smile.gif

New Trailer

It's only a minute (and I'd call it more of a teaser rather than a trailer, but maybe that's just me), but I think it looks really good.
cloudycat
Impressive stuff really nice visuals too, yeah it's definitely the same team responsible for Eternal Sonata. Problem is it's getting published by Namco so it'll probably never see the light of day over here in the UK.
Dragon Brigade
A new little tid-bit of info regarding the game.

QUOTE
tri-Crescendo's Fragile is a game about searching a ruined world for survivors. The decayed, destroyed suburbia gives Fragile a melancholy look, and the newly-revealed bonfire system only strengthens that impression.

Bonfires appear in various locations around the game. They are the only way to identify the type and use of wrapped "mystery" items, but more importantly bonfires unlock the memories each object holds of its owner, helping provide clues to the reason for the world's destruction.

Evidently, bonfires also act as storage for items (represented by cards) in your bag. Only during bonfires can you swap items in and out of your bag. In addition to this, they restore your character's HP.

Looks interesting. Is it me, or does DB's first screen at the top look like Atoli from .Hack GU?? haha.

Seems like the RPG's gonna have some interesting things to do with the wiimote. **looks at the "metal detector part**
