There was a time when I didn't particularly mind them. But you know what? These days, I just can't stand vampires. It's not original anymore. Anything you do with a vampire is just stupid. Anything.
I mean, I also hate dark themed teenagers as opposed to not themed teenagers, and those particular ones seem to have a taste for vampires and no ##### pun is intended. Vampires this vampires that. Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. Just because it's public domain doesn't mean you're doing Dracula any justice (and ##### it, none of them give a damn about the Romanian prince anyway). Why is it that people even like this stupid ##### anyway?
And everything with vampires is the same. Every love story will involve a non vampire turn into a vampire. There's for some reason more lesbians that are vampires than actual lesbians, and they're all lipstick. ##### pale people break into your house and bite you isn't cool. You know what else? Underworld? Not a fan. Blade? Boring. Twilight? Girly and trite. Hellsing? Won't bother because vampires yo. I blame Anne Rice.

I just felt like sharing.
I love werewolves though, as long as they aren't fighting vampires.
And apparently, my friend saw some pickets in NYC that had something about vampires being outlawed. LOL.

So if everyone, for example, started deifying, listening, impersonating your favourite band or a singer or whatever, you'd be disgusted with the band and stop listening to it?

Yes, because I would hate to be associate with a retarded fanbase. I might still listen to that band, but I wouldn't ever mention it in conversation.

I think lolblade3 did a fine job destroying the lore and interesting nature of Vampire tales. Maybe lolinterview with a Vampire too.
There was a TV show about 10 years ago called "The Kindred". It was a very good series, but unfortunately that stopped airing for some reason. It was about the last living group of vampires who made peace with humans and were allowed to live amongst them. There was some internal drama within the group I think. Stuff like that is interesting.

In my opinion, Blade is the worst thing that could happen to vampires. Blacks and vampirism just don't go together. The only good thing about Blade was Frost.
Underworld had a pretty nice idea, but it wasn't realized very well. It's undeveloped with very fast-paced storytelling.
The idea of vampires is pretty good, but there is no one who makes anything good of it. So, yeah, vampires are good, but movies, series and whatever don't do a good job of portraying them.

Yeah, I'm kinda confused about whats going on here as well, probably just something I don't understand. All I know is that Castlevania is awesome, and don't hate on Alucard because he is awesome as well.

That's what I thought but I'm just assuming I read too much into it.
Blade 1 and 2 were awesome, especially the first it created a real underground society feel to it. Frost is probably the best Vampire villain in any vamp film. I also enjoyed Underworld Bill Nighy was fantastic as Victor and it had Kate Beckinsdale need I say more? Lost Boys was another favourite of mine growing up too. Oh and 30 Days Of Night was fresher take on the Vampire theme which I quite enjoyed.

Most of the people I've ever hated have stated to me that they would love to be a vampire...
that being said I did enjoy that one film which was based off an Anne Rice book. I can't remember what it was called but it had Kirstin Dunst in it I think... Dairy of a Vampire? Interview with a Vampire? I can't remember but something like that. It was decent but nothing special. That's about as much as I think of Vampire films in general... Vampire anything for that matter. I'm far from anti though... I just have little love for them.

Interview with a Vampire, also known as the only movie where Kirsten Dunst wasnt completely horrible in.

Though she still managed to do a pretty bad job at playing Claudia anyway. The Chronicle movies were better off as books only, the movies are about as accurate as a blind man gone shooting.

I think the point of this thread is his dislike for how overblown the culture has become. It's no longer original.

Well, what is original these days? All it is now is taking unoriginal ideas and hopefully making them into something somewhat different from everything else. All you can really do is accept it for how it is, or ignore the parts of it you don't like about it, if you can. One problem with vampires I think would be that movies and other things don't portray it the way most 'fans' of vampires would like them to be portrayed. Personally, I'm not a fan of the more monster than human, blood sucking machine. I enjoy the mysterious human nature with them rather than the monster side. But everything similar to that is really overplayed, especially in forums like these, or really any RPG forum that happens to have a roleplay. The vampires are everywhere.

First of all Twilight is girly and trite, Blade wasn't that boring and -Gasp- Hellsing? You just stepped on a very big toe sir. Hellsing did vampires justice (in a weird demented anime way). But I agree with you, teenagers have nothing better to do with their time than pretend to be vampires and choke themselves to get high.
