I have this habit of thinking I created a topic or told you guys about some game, only to realize (months later) that I did not, and then I wonder why I am disheartened to find so many replies to threads like "Man, this is the first I've heard of this game!" Poison Pink is the most recent example, but Valkyria Chronicles is the one that hurt my heart the most.

So here we go. You need to know about Elminage.

Elminage is a dungeon crawler from a first-person perspective, in the vein of Etrian Odyssey or Deep Labyrinth (except not sucky like Deep Lab was). It was released in Japan on March 8, 2008. I doubt its chances of coming to America, but the fact that both Etrian Odyssey games have made it over, and the fact that Atlus does not care if it releases a #### game (see: Izuna 1 & 2, Growlanser Generations, Stella Deus) give me a small glimmer of hope.

Elminage's characters come in classes, pictured in the scans below:

Yes, MAID is a playable class. Ha!

Just as the navigation, the battles are also done from a first-person perspective.

Town navigation and world navigation are not handled with an on-screen character, but mostly map and menu based, as is the trend in RPGs in general today. A lot of TRPGs do this.

Here are 12 peachy keen screenshots

Game came with a soundtrack CD (Hitoshi Sakimoto) for preordering here in Japan:

There. Now, in the event that this game ends up going Stateside, no one has any excuse to be all like "I never heard of this game until now whatwhat!"

I am intrigued, more intrigued about Poison Pink but nevertheless intrigued. I also see you dudes changed RPG Land's layout, it looks better, not too fond of the logo but at least it stops looking like a geocities fanpage circa 1997.

Day 1 if it gets a release. This game reminds me of Shining in the Darkness and Shining in the Holy Ark. I still need to get Etrian Odyssey for the DS since I've heard some pretty positive things about it. I actually started playing Kings Field 4 again recently (never beat it), and have been on a dungeon crawling crave lately.

OT: As Razeal said, great new layout with the exception of the logo. It blends in with that color too much and needs to "pop" more (not to fond with the typography used either).

OT: Thanks for the comments on the layout. This was very recent and admittedly, kind of rushed so there are still an asston of bugs and broken links, unfortunately >_<
But I suppose that is to be expected with our firm dedication to having a non-dedication to quality laugh.gif
(Stuff is being fixed...little by little...)

I almost bought Baroque yesterday but I remember reading that the game forced you through a sadistic circle of trial and error until it got you insane. Hope this Elminage game is not like that.

I wonder how would they Anglicize the name if it comes to the western market, not that Atlus cares much but Elminage might not settle well in the english market.

EDIT: Wait i ##### up, I meant Baroque.

I'd pull something similar to qhat Square did with Romancing Saga and Secret of Mana's first tastes of the US: file them under a popular series.

Shin Megami Tensei: Personage.

You heard it here first!
Mushroom
Gaaaah, really not my kind of game there at all. I got excited for yet announce PS2 rpg there as well XD I really can't get into first person dungeon crawlers like that, but hey, more rpgs the better.
The Evil Dead
That game looks awesome. Reminds me of all the old ass dungeon crawler games I can't name that I used to play on the PC waaaaaaay back in the day.

Do want.
Crimson Cloud
I don't have anything against dungeon crowlers, as long as they are fun to play. Unfortunately, Baroque comes to my mind right this moment, which had interesting story, but the way it was told and the actual gameplay killed it for me. We shall see about this.
