What a difference a year makes. This time last year, sales of PS3 games accounted for only $US 13 million of EA's total net revenue. But this time this year? PS3 games account for $US 139 million in sales. Which is a 969% increase, and is miles ahead of 360 sales, which "only" made the company $US 81 million. Don't bother asking us how this happened, we have no idea. As for the other systems, the PC was the second-biggest earner at $US 86 million (perhaps contributing to EA Sport's about-face), with PS2 sales just behind the 360 at $US 79 million.

Wow. If this has been posted already sorry, but that news shocked me, I thought some others would be itnerested. I'm not a massive EA buff but sports games are HUGE sellers, and to see the PS3 versions of EA's games sell so well is a great thing. Plus, while their server sucks, SKATE is a great game. If you want to add the PS2 sales to that too, which were only jus behind the the PC and 360, thats gotta be a good sign for Sony. ^^

XD what one wasn't that great either? I haven't seen any of it or heard any comparisons >_< I reckon they'll have no choice but to buck up if they're making such a large amount of money off of Sony's system though.

This year seems to be good for Sony. Lets hope they return the favor to consumers, and people will finally be able to shut up about the console debate.

That's good news especially since it will inspire more confidence in EA to keep developing and publishing for the PS3, which is good news considering they seem very determined to give us quality as well as quantity.
