The first one was alright, I thought. Not sure I want to see a sequel, but whatever. Anybody have thoughts on this if it does happen? I also am not too keen on the idea of Toy Story 3, personally (mentioned at end of article). Didn't like the second one at all, but maybe that's just me. Anyway.

QUOTE
UK, August 4, 2008 - The collective clever clogs over at Pixar are hinting that one of their most successful flicks -- Monsters, Inc. -- could soon receive the sequel treatment.

Speaking to MTV, Pete Docter, the director of the original, said, "We've thought about it. We've got a couple of ideas."

He failed to elaborate further, instead saying that much of his team's resources are currently being poured into the forthcoming Monster's, Inc. ride at Walt Disney Resorts.

But with Toy Story 2 outperforming the original at the box office (and inspiring 2009's Toy Story 3) don't be surprised to see Sulley and Mike returning sometime in the future.

I really enjoyed the 1st one although I'm not really sure where they could go with it next. But hey its Pixar and they did a great job with Toy Story 2 so sure why not?

The first movie was extremely cute. It ended perfectly though, and doesn't need a damn sequel.

Monsters Inc was awesome, so a sequel is welcome if they do not screw it up like most sequels.

We had the president of Pixar come to my university and speak at a forum that I attended. Here's his thoughts on sequels:

Disney found out that making sequels that go directly to DVD's make a lot of money. We also know they are not as good as the original one. (end almost direct quotation)

So, he was talking about Toy Story 2 and said that they basically scrapped the idea Disney pitched them with a week and a half before it was due and they pulled the TS2 we all know and love right out of their rears before it was due. They didn't like the way Disney wanted them to do the movie, so they essentially said "SCREW YOU" and did it themselves.

I think they will do a good job with the sequels knowing this. They are not going to turn them into horrible sing-a-longs like most of the other Disney sequels are. (**cough cough Aladdin 2&3**)
