Alrighty...
After getting to the Ashtwal Ruins, and getting pwn't by the boss that Lyon fought, due to a pitifully equipped team... so, now i'm grabbing the best candidates and grinding until i have a decent army (between levels 45-50 would be good).
though, that's not what i need help on.

What I need help on-
I've gotten the Pale Moon armor set, and i've been wonder what Rune magic is considered "Dark" only ones i can think of is Condemnation Rune and Star Rune (though Zerase can't equip that stuff). [i plan on equipping someone with that armor to use during the boss fight in the ruins.]

likewise, i've gathered the Windspun armor set... who's the best candidate to wear that stuff? my main choice is the lunkhead Mathais- since he came with the Cyclone rune.

thanks...
Chalryn
The only Dark-elemental rune is Condemnation. Star is its own element. Oh, but the last spell of the Pale Gate rune, "Empty World," is Dark-elemental, as well.

Best candidate for Windspun... Yeah, Mathias is pretty much the way to go. He's got the highest Magic stat of the all-heavyweight characters, with a natural C-rank Wind affiliation, and to top it off, he gains access to all three rune slots. He's got one skill slot taken by Mow Down, so you'll have to work with only one spare. His Magic skill only reaches B-rank, though, so you may as well focus on physical stats for skills, and just let the Wind affiliation take care of the magic. (Really, affiliation is a bigger deal than actual Magic in this game.)

By the way, if you're going to use Mathias, it'd probably be worth checking out the Unite Attack he shares with Dinn and Rahal, "Fancy Lad." It's got a pretty decent single-target multiplier, but they're all pretty strong characters with 2-3 rune slots, so from what I can tell, it must be one of the most lethal combos in the game. Of course, his and Isabel's "Maximillian" attack is worth checking as well.
Sigs Minock
cool, thanks.
i usually avoided Matthias because i just didn't like him. (Isabel on the other hand. biggrin.gif)

one more question- some armor guide on gamefaqs said that with the entire Prosperity armor set equipped, all potch acquired is doubled (rather than being increase by 10% five-times over). as far as anyone's concerned, is that true?
Chalryn
What, not fond of his obsession with dumping people into nearby bodies of water? XD Anyway, I haven't really used him myself, but he's definitely worth checking out, as he seems to be a very able character, and a decent hybrid, even. (When set up correctly.)

As far as I know, yeah. I think I even checked, though I could do so again, if need be. It should be +10% for each piece, and then a total of +100% for the full set, rather than +50% for the individual pieces added up. If you continue to equip more of the rings, then I believe it should just stack to 110%, 120%, etc.

On the Propserity Set note, here's a great idea: Give the full set, plus extra rings, and the Prosperity Rune to somebody who has a high Thief skill level. (Raven's a great choice, as he gets SS-rank, and his Raven Rune makes him invulnerable to physical attacks while indoors.) It's ridiculous how quickly you'll be rich with that. (The random-encounter boss at the bottom of the dungeon you recruit Eresh in is a great fight for loading up on cash this way. The Blood Chain Mail reward sells very well, to add onto the actual reward money.)
Oh, and of course bring Egbert along, to gain even more.
Sigs Minock
right now, i'm not worried about getting obscenely rich, since i'm near the end of the game. i just want to earn enough to be able to afford some decent armor for the three teams, so they don't get hosed. [i already have 1.3 million potch.]

now i just have questions on several entourage abilities... Babbage's Treasure Hunter, Egbert's Potch Find, Marina's Healing, Taylor's Anaylze, Linfa/Takuma's Escape Route are all obvious abilities. but what about Mohsen/Shinro/Sairoh's Trade In, Rania's Bard, Murad's Treatment abilities?

Though, fighting now is easy with the Illusion formation. tongue.gif

i'm still pissed at myself for missing Haleth... when i was getting Raven, i saw the bar scene when getting Egbert's family tree... and i didn't pursue getting Haleth until after Stormfist.
Chalryn
Ah, alrighty. Well, with weapon prices and such, 1mil will be gone in no time, I'm sure, haha. So if you run low again, give it a shot.

Mohsen/Shinro/Sairoh's "Trade In" ability allows you to sell items directly from your inventory, rather than having to wait until you find a shop to do so. The strategy guide just says "receive Potch for discarding items," so I guess that's how it works in this game. (It's been slightly different in past titles.)

Rania's "Bard" ability changes the battle music to a sort of windwood-based battle theme. Nothing useful, but it's neat. Moroon doesn't have an ability to indicate it, but having him in your party (or entourage) will change the battle theme to a rock remix of it.

Murad's "Treatment" ability heals like Marina's does, but in a different manner. Rather than healing a fixed amount per turn in battle, he heals a greater amount once after each battle. I'm pretty sure it removes post-battle status effects as well.

And yeah, Haleth's pretty handy. I think I totally missed him my first time through. As long as you activated the initial events, you should still be able to recruit him, though. ...Unless you're just saying you regret not getting him earlier?
